Sundance Dance Festival Day 3

I’m just so damn nauseous today. I had to get up at the same time that I usually do on school days, except today I had to actually get ready to go. We had to leave by 9:00 this morning. When I went downstairs, I saw that it was snowing!!! Crazy!! It’s the middle of April for Pete’s sake!! I’m so ready for warm weather!! We got to the Dow by about 9:50. My daughter went back stage and I waited in the lobby. I was only by myself for a short amount of time. Another one of the moms came in and sat with me. We talked for about an hour. Then we went into the theatre to watch our girls dance. The competition in this category did not seem as stiff as it was at the previous competition. I’m not trying to be rude or anything like that, I know it takes a ton of courage to get out on that stage and dance! I could just tell that our girls were going to do well. And they did!! It was their lyrical dance, and they came in first with a high gold and they won the choreographer award for the dance as well. My daughter is enjoying herself more than last time, because she isn’t feeling sick this go around!! We only had the one dance this morning. So after they were finished, we came back home. We got home at about 12:30. I was feeling pretty sick, so around 1:30 I decided that I was going to have a sleep. I slept off and on. I heard my son come in after school. I sort of woke up then, but I didn’t really get up until awhile after when my oldest daughter and my son came in to see me. I got up then. My son and I stayed upstairs for about an hour and played a game that he made up. Then my hubby came upstairs and we talked for a while and my younger daughter came in and the three of us talked. We decided it was time for supper. So I went downstairs and got some food together. We played HQ while I was still in the kitchen, but we only got to question 5 before it got quite hard. We had supper. Then I went to Sobeys and bought some dog food and a few other things that we needed. When I came home, the kids had root beer floats, because I bought them the stuff for them as a treat. I went upstairs and got a bag together for tomorrow night. My daughter brought my son up and got him ready for bed while I was finishing up some things and getting myself ready for bed. She had him sleeping before long! I finished getting ready and am going to go to sleep myself. Night All! 💤😴

Sundance Dance Festival Day 2

This morning, once the kids were at school, I decided that I was going to snooze some more! However, before I went to bed, I called the dr back. I told her that I wanted to try the Flagyl. This is the antibiotic that she initially wanted to put me on, but she didn’t because years ago, when I was in the hospital after one of my surgeries, I had an allergic reaction to it. However, I was on many different medications at the time and I didn’t have a severe reaction, I just couldn’t swallow, at all! No matter how much I tried, I was unable to swallow. At the time they decided it was probably the Flagyl, as that was the drug that had been administered before I had that reaction, but they didn’t really know. Anyway, the dr said that Flagyl is the best medicine to kill off the little buggers in my tummy that are making me sick. The last antibiotics that they gave me didn’t work and the other one she considered trying isn’t available in Canada. So, it was down to Flagyl. Anyway, I left a message with the receptionist for the dr, stating that I wanted to try the Flagyl. About 2 hours later, interrupting my sleep, I received a call back from her saying that she faxed the Flagyl prescription to Rexall for me. Yay! So, I slept for a while longer, kind of off and on. My hubby was supposed to have his meeting with the lady who is helping him find a job. He got ready and drove downtown and arrived at her office to be told that she wasn’t there. He ended up meeting with someone else for a while. She did have a good reason for not being there, she’s in the hospital. Even so, he was pretty disappointed. I think he’s getting a bit stir-crazy. Also, he is very concerned about money or rather the lack of it!! He went to Southgate and got a gift for our son’s birthday, then he came back home. I got up and he told me that the pharmacy had called, I wasn’t surprised. They were concerned that I had been prescribed a medication that is marked on my file as something I am allergic to. So, they hadn’t filled it yet. I explained the situation and asked him to go ahead and fill it. I called my daughter’s school and told them that she was leaving early today and that she will be missing tomorrow for a dance competition. This competition is called the Sundance Dance Festival, or something like that. It started yesterday, but my daughter didn’t have any dances yesterday. I went and picked her up from school. We came back home and started getting ready for the competition. She had to do her hair and makeup, etc, so that she would be ready to dance when we got there. I didn’t need to do all that much to get ready to go. So, I did what I needed to do, then I went to the Rexall to pick up the Flagyl. We still don’t have any health insurance, so I had to pay full price. I didn’t really care, I just want to feel better. I also got a couple things that my daughter needed for the competition and then I got some cash out, because entrance fees are always due in cash at competitions. I went home and my daughter was almost ready to go. I took my first dose of the antibiotics and, low and behold, no allergic reaction!! My daughter did a couple more things, then we left. My oldest daughter was leaving at the same time, she had to go to the David’s Tea on Whyte Avenue for her orientation. We had to get gas for the van, but then we left Beaumont and headed to Fort Saskatchewan and the Dow Theatre. We arrived about 10 minutes before she was expected. We bought my entrance pass and a program and then she went back to the dressing rooms. I waited in the lobby for about an hour. Thankfully some of the other Amanda moms sat by me and we were talking. They told me that the competition was running about 15 minutes early. I probably wouldn’t have gone into the theatre in time, if they hadn’t told me that!! I watched my daughter dance her lyrical solo and a couple other Amanda’s dancers were in the same category. In the end she received a silver. At this competition that is a score between 80 – 84. There are only bronze, silver, gold and high gold at this competition, there is no high silver this time. Every competition scores things differently than the last. Also every adjudicator is different and looks for different things. I thought that she danced well, better than she did last competition, in my opinion. I think she felt better too. We met afterwards in the lobby. We decided to stay to watch the next category, it was more lyrical solos, but they were at a higher level and mostly older. There were 3 Amanda girls in this category. They did really well. We went home after that category. I stopped at the Wendy’s and got my daughter some chicken strips and each of us a drink. I wasn’t feeling hungry. We drove to Beaumont. We stopped at the Shoppers to get her a new charge cord for her phone. They didn’t have hair nets and she needs one for her ballet dance on Saturday, so we quickly went to Rexall and got one there. Then we went home. My hubby and son were upstairs reading a story before bed. My oldest was home, sitting on the couch eating. She had gotten home a bit before us. At her orientation they gave her a box of different types of tea that she has to try and write about for her training. She said that she’s allowed to wear whatever she wants to work and she will be at the Whyte Ave David’s Tea two times next week to train. I did a couple things on the main floor and let the dogs out. Then I went upstairs and got ready for bed. I’m tired. I decided that it was too late for the treadmill tonight. I’m going to bed now.

Still Grumbling About My Tummy!!

Instead of calling back the dr, like I should have, I just went back to bed this morning, once the kids were off to school. I was still feeling quite sick, I know, not big news! I slept until my daughter woke me up to play HQ with her and my hubby. (HQ is a trivia game that you get on your phone. It’s a live game with a host who asks 12 questions that start fairly easy and quickly get difficult. You play for real money. This afternoon was the biggest pot ever, they were giving away $300,000.00. With the number of winners today, they each got about $3,000.00. It started with over 2 million players and ended with only a few hundred winners!! It was a special game this afternoon, hosted by Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. We all play it together as a family. We’re each on our own phones, but we tell each other the answers if we know them and we each choose a different option if we aren’t sure of the answer. It’s kind of fun!! If you are interested, please tell me. I can send you “an invitation” and then if you accept, I get a free life! Hee hee! Ulterior motives!!) Anyway, I woke up to play the game. We got stuck on question 8 today. My hubby touched the wrong answer, even though I told him it wasn’t the first one!! Oh well! We watched all of the questions, they actually had 15 questions today. We knew some more of the answers, but once you’re out, unless you have an extra life, you’re out. Also, you can only use 1 extra life per game. After playing that. I had some tea and checked emails and other things on my phone. Then my daughter and I picked up my son from school. We dropped him off at home, because he didn’t want to come to the library or the store. We went to the library so that I could fax my practice permit for 2018 to The College of Alberta Psychologists. They received my scanned copy, but wanted it in HTML format and I couldn’t figure out how to turn the scanned copy into HTML, so they asked me to fax it instead. After the library, we went to Sobeys and got some groceries. Then we went to the Dollarama and bought some hangers. We went home from there. We stopped to check the mail and my daughter got two government cheques in the mail, so we quickly went to the bank and deposited them and then we went back home. I got some laundry going, because my son had fallen in the mud at school and his clothes needed a good wash! My son wanted a Dude Perfect toy from Toys R Us. He was looking online at the Toys R Us website. We got his piggy bank and we counted his money to see if he could afford the one that he wanted. When we were finished and had put all of the change back, I started to cook supper. We were having tacos. It didn’t take very long to cook. We had just sat down to eat and my daughter called and wanted to be picked up. So my hubby went to get her and then they came back and joined us at the table. My daughter was excited because her learners license arrived in the mail. Her photo isn’t bad. Most of ours look like mug-shots! After supper, my younger daughter helped my son with his French word list. We cleaned the table and then did the laundry. We talked to my Momma on the phone for a short while. My hubby and I decided that we will be going to my Uncle Doug’s 90th Birthday party, in Calgary on the 21st. He’s not getting any younger and we haven’t really seen them in a while. We figured that it is overdue. So we checked different hotel prices online, that are close by. We found the most affordable one that can actually fit all 5 of us. So, I called them and booked it. Afterwards, I went upstairs and talked to my daughter for a bit. Then I got my shorts and tank top on and went downstairs to walk on the treadmill. I walked at an even faster pace today!! I did 4km in 45 minutes!! That would be the ring road in Beaumont. Afterwards I checked the laundry and started a new load. Then I came upstairs, let the dogs out and said goodnight to my daughter. My hubby had my son in bed already. He seems to get to sleep much faster for him than he does for me!! I had a shower, then finally got to bed to write this. It’s late now, so I’m going to go to bed.

An Intermediate Leader – Yay!!

This morning I woke up feeling awful…yet again! As soon as the kiddos went to school, I went upstairs to bed. I intended to call the dr back, but I was not functioning well, I had a lump in the back of my throat and felt on the verge of pain throwing up all day and night. I stayed in bed for a long time, my daughter woke me up when she received a delivery at the door. It was the crinoline that we ordered to go under her Cinderella gown. Truth be told, it looks more like a hoop skirt than anything else, but it does the job! Her dress now poofs out like it is supposed to. It’s a bit too long though. I’m not sure what to do about it. After we finished trying to figure out her costume and she had put it away, we went downstairs, my son came too, and watched an old VHS home movie video. It was from when my oldest daughter was just a little baby, to when she was a bit older to when she was 5 and my younger daughter was only 4 months old. They were both funny and cute videos to watch. There was about an hour and a half of footage recorded. Afterwards, we went upstairs and I started to cook supper. I made spaghetti meat sauce and pasta. It was tasty. My hubby and daughter had to eat quickly and then go to dance. The three of us ate once they left. We watched a good episode of Fixer Upper while eating. It was difficult to eat when I felt like I did. After eating and watching the show, I got up and cleaned up and put the leftovers away. Then I went upstairs to get shorts on, to go on the treadmill. My daughter got my son ready for bed and read to him, while I walked on the treadmill for about 45 minutes. My hubby and daughter came home while I was walking. She was in a great mood! She had had an excellent hip hop class that she really enjoyed. Also, she received an email from the camp Wohelo people offering her a summer intermediate leader position!! She’s pretty excited! She’s always wanted to do that and has been attending this camp since she was about 2 years old, with me to mom and kids camp!! I’m very happy for her!! After I got off the treadmill, I had a quick shower and got ready for bed. I’m calling the dr back for sure tomorrow. I’m sick of feeling sick. Night All! 💤😴

Useless Prescription☹️

This morning it was hard to wake up. I struggled quite a bit, even though I knew I had to get moving and get my son up. Oh my goodness, my tummy is bothering me so much right now. I have to speed this up and get to bed. Ug! Once I finally did get up and got my son ready for and off to school, I made my tea and flopped onto the couch. My hubby and I talked about money, as things are getting tight with him still not working! We then watched some house flipping shows. I was stupid tired and sick though. Around noon my Momma called and we talked on the phone for a bit. Then I called the dr’s office and they made me an appointment with the original dr who saw me about my dumb tummy, for 5:00 today. I then went upstairs and had a snooze. I woke up when my son came running upstairs and jumped on the bed. He was excited about something and really wanted to tell me. Then my hubby left with my daughter to drive her to dance. My oldest left to go pick up her friend. It was just my son and I, so we played for about 45 minutes and then had to go to my dr’s appointment. I told her that I was feeling the same way. She really wanted to give me Flagyl, but I had a bit of a reaction to this when I was in the hospital once. So she gave me a prescription for a different drug. She also gave me another lab requisition to get checked out again – yuck! So, despite having no health insurance, I went to the pharmacy with my prescription. And…it turns out that you can’t buy or even order this medication in Canada. So it was super helpful…(sarcasm!!!) Ug! Now I don’t know what to do. Do I just get the lab test done and bloody wait while I continue to feel like this or do I call the dr’s office back?! Frustrating stuff!! Once my son and I went back home, we had just come in the door when about 1 minute later my daughter and her friend came in. They went downstairs, her friend came over to help her clean her room. My son and I played for about another 45 minutes, then I realized the time. I quickly went to Sobeys and got something to cook for supper. I went home and made supper, and played with my son while it cooked. It was ready just as my hubby and daughter came in the door. We all had supper. Then my younger daughter and I made a quick batch of insta-cookies. While they cooked, she had a speedy shower and I got ready to go on the treadmill. We went downstairs and the cookies were not quite ready, so we cooked them a little longer. My hubby put my son to bed. The cookies were finished, so she was going to wait a couple minutes until they cooled, while I went downstairs to get on the treadmill. I was about to start, when she called me back upstairs. So I went upstairs to see what she wanted. She couldn’t find the dog food and thought the dogs were hungry. I showed her where it was, it was not in it’s usual spot. My other daughter and her friend came upstairs then. They all had a cookie, then they left, so my daughter could drive her home. I, finally, went back downstairs and walked on the treadmill for about 50 minutes. When I finished, I went upstairs and had some water, let the dogs out, etc. Then I came upstairs, had a shower and I got ready for bed. Now I’m going to actually lie down and try to ignore my stomach and get some sleep. Night All! 💤😴

Stupid Nausea

Today is no better than the last few days. My tummy still feels sick and I am still feeling tired too. I may just call the dr’s office tomorrow about still feeling sick after finishing the antibiotics. Maybe they have stronger ones that I can take. Who knows. It doesn’t hurt to ask though. I just hope that I don’t have to redo that yucky lab test though. Today was pretty lazy. I slept pretty late and stayed in bed for a while, because I woke up to a sick tummy. When I did get up, I went downstairs and had my morning tea. I went through emails and stuff on my phone. Then I got my son some food. My daughter came upstairs, she had slept in too. We watched HGTV. My hubby went to his brother’s place. We watched tv for a while. Then my daughter called me from her friend’s house. They needed a quick ride and I was the only parent not really busy. So I drove her and her friends. Then I came back home and had something to eat. Afterwards my son and I played together for about 2.5 hours. We played a few different things. Every now and then I stopped to do laundry with my oldest daughter. My younger daughter came home. She was hungry, so I made supper. It was a little later than normal. After supper I played some more with my son. Then my daughter said that she would give him a quick bath and put him to bed so that I could go on the treadmill. So I went downstairs and walked on the treadmill for about 65 minutes. I walk at a pretty good pace, my treadmill display read 5.4 kms for the distance I walked today. Not to shabby with a nauseous stomach. I had a shower after walking, then I got ready for bed. I’m going to head to bed now. Night All! 💤😴

First Swimming Lesson!

Tonight’s post is going to mirror last night’s post. For the same reasons. My tummy is a mess, which has me wondering if the antibiotics, that I took to kill off the little buggers growing in my stomach, actually worked!! Today was a simple day.

My son woke me up fairly early, because he was excited about his first swimming lesson. I did sort of fall back to sleep, but not into a really deep sleep. He continued to wake me up off and on, until I finally got out of bed. My hubby and I took him to his swimming lessons and we both stayed and watched. He did really well!!

We came home and my son and I played a colouring game that he heard about.

We all piled into the van and drove my daughter to dance. While she was dancing, we went to Costco to get some things that we needed and also to the Walmart. Then we drove back and picked her up.

Once we were home, my son and I played our simple version of indoor soccer, while I cooked supper at the same time.

We ate supper.

We sat in the living room and watched tv. Mostly HGTV. My younger daughter was up in her room and my son played Minecraft on the iPad. One of the shows that we watched was called Hometown. It was a great episode tonight!

I did some laundry with my oldest and then I got myself and my son ready for bed.

I’m going to sleep!

Night All! 💤😴

Short Post Tonight!

This needs to be a short post, for two reasons: the first is because it’s late and I’m tired, the second is because I feel like I’m going to be sick, my supper didn’t sit right and ever since I ate I’ve felt so nauseous! So here’s my super short post:

This morning I went back to bed once the kids went to school

My daughter came upstairs and woke me up

Her Cinderella dress arrived today and she was excited to try it on. She’s going to a convention in Calgary with friends and you’re supposed to dress up for it. I helped her do up the corset in the back, so she could see if it fit. It still needs a crinoline with it, because it should be poofier!

We looked everywhere for my son’s Spider-Man swim trunks, because his swimming lessons start tomorrow. We never ended up finding them, so I guess he’ll have to wear different ones.

We did some laundry and folded some too.

I made supper with my hubby.

We ate and watched tv.

I played Trouble with my son. He also played his bottle flip game and I read the cards for him.

I walked on the treadmill for about 60 minutes.

I got ready for bed.

I’m going to bed.

Night All! 💤😴

Another Sleepy Day

This morning I had a hard time waking up. I forced myself to, because I had to get my son up. However, once he was at school I immediately went back to bed. I have been going to bed too late! It is throwing me off! I slept until my daughter came into my room to ask me a question about whether or not something could go in the dryer. We started talking and talked for a while. No one offered her full time, so she decided to accept two part time positions, one at The Body Shop and the other one at David’s Tea. The lady from The Body Shop already told her that, if she chose to get another part time position, she would work around her other schedule. So that’s good. My hubby came upstairs while my daughter and I were talking and we all talked for a bit. Then he left to pick up the kids from school. I got dressed and ready to go. They got home and my daughter changed into her dance clothes and we left. I dropped her off, then went to the Sobeys by my parent’s house and picked up a salad. Then I went to my parent’s place and ate. After eating, I read my book until it was time to go pick up my daughter. Dance was over at 6:30 and she had her interview to work at Camp Wohelo this summer at 7:30. We went to Wendy’s on the way and got her some food. Then we drove to the church where they were doing the interviews. We arrived a bit early. She stayed in the van until 7:20, then she went inside. I just waited in the van. Her interview was finished after about 20 minutes. She came out with a big smile on her face. She felt like it went really well. They said that they will let her know in the next few days and then send her a schedule and salary information. I’m feeling pretty confident that she’s going to get the job. We drove home after that. Once at home, I did some colouring with my son. Then my hubby started to get him ready for bed, while I went downstairs and walked on the treadmill for about 50 minutes. Afterwards I talked to my younger daughter about next years schedule for school, because they have to hand in the forms by Monday. Then I said goodnight to her and had a speedy shower and then I got ready for bed. At least it’s a bit earlier than last night. Maybe I won’t be as tired tomorrow morning. Here’s hoping!

Sleepy Day

I’m trying to make this a short post, because it is late and I’m tired. Also, I have to wake up early tomorrow. This morning my son was difficult to wake up. It took me forever. He was almost late for school, but just made it. Once the kids were gone, I made tea and coffee for my hubby and we watched an episode of Property Brothers. We started watching another episode, but I couldn’t keep my eyes open for the life of me. I was so tired. I ended up sleeping for almost an hour on the couch. Finally I forced myself to get up and went upstairs and got in bed. I was soooo tired. I think part of the reason why I was so tired was that I went to bed too late last night. Well, here I am, about to do the same thing! By the time I went back to bed it was already about 11:00. I must have been exhausted, because I slept until I heard my son’s voice!! It was early dismissal, so the kids were home earlier today, but still, I was completely out that whole time! My hubby came upstairs to talk to me and I was half awake. I stayed in bed for a while. Then my oldest daughter came upstairs and she lied down beside me. We talked for a while and then we got up. I went downstairs and tried to figure out what to eat for supper. I had no ideas and was feeling sleepy, so I wanted to make something quick. My hubby and daughter had to leave, as she had dance. I played a game with my son for a while. Then the three of us went to Dollarama, Sobeys and then Shoppers. We came back home and I made supper. We ate supper and watched a show on HGTV. Afterwards my daughter helped my son with his French book. I went on the treadmill for about 55 minutes, while she put him to bed. My younger daughter and hubby got home from dance and she had a quick shower, then she came downstairs while I was on the treadmill to show me her foot. She was doing her front walkover during dance class and she came down funny and her knee landed, with all her weight behind it, on her other foot. She has a lump and a huge bruise. It doesn’t look very pretty. After getting off the treadmill, I went upstairs and my oldest was still lying beside my son. She said that every time she tried to get up he would stir and/or open his eyes. She got up then though. I had a speedy shower and then got ready for bed. I did end up getting to bed late though. Which is why I’m stopping now and going to sleep. Night All! 💤😴
