Another Day Mostly Spent In Bed…Sigh

This morning I got my son dressed and ready when he got up. I went downstairs and let the dogs out and then I said goodbye to my son and I came back upstairs, said goodbye to my daughter, then laid back down. My hubby fed my son and drove him to school. I stayed in bed, except when I had to use the facilities, until my daughter came home from school. Then I got up and started getting ready to drive her to dance. My hubby left to pick up my son from school. My daughter and I left for her dance as soon as they got home. After I dropped her off, I was driving back home on the Anthony Henday. There was a lot of snow falling and blowing snow and the roads weren’t that great. Then I had to pass a snow plow that was driving on my right hand side. The snow that it was plowing was blowing in front of me, causing complete white-out conditions while trying to pass it and, of course, I was passing it while the road was curving. There was a stupid truck who was tailgating me who wouldn’t back off and I was trying to slow down to pass the plow…it wasn’t much fun and certainly didn’t feel all that safe, to state the obvious! The jerk behind me was super annoying and flew passed me as soon as I passed the plow. Some people are such idiots! They’re the type of people who cause accidents!! I did manage to pass the stupid plow, going about 90 in the 100 zone, because the guy behind me wouldn’t let me go any slower. I couldn’t see anything at all! It wasn’t a good time! But within seconds of passing the plow my vision cleared. Then I uneventfully drove the rest of the way home. Once I got home I did something super exciting, I laid down in bed…My son came upstairs and went on YouTube on my phone beside me. Then about 45 minutes to an hour later, my oldest daughter came home from work. She came upstairs. Then after talking for about 20 minutes, we went downstairs. My hubby had gone to his friend’s house for a short while. I started the rice that they were eating for supper. Then my daughter, my son and I watched How To Train Your Dragon 2. It’s not our first time watching it, but it’s a good movie, good but sad 😢 . We paused it part way through so that they could get supper. When it was finished, I filled water bottles, let the dogs out and brought up laundry from the other day. I got my son into bed. Put laundry away. Then I went on my phone for a while. Now I’m going to get ready for bed. I still haven’t heard anything from the doctor. My mom thinks that I should call them. Hmmm…

Gastric Emptying Study

This morning I had to get up at 6:00am. That’s pretty darn early for me!! Considering that I was putting a load of laundry in at 1:20am in the morning, I didn’t exactly get a whole lot of sleep last night!! My daughter really wanted her laundry in last night, but she was waiting for me to get out of the shower. However, somehow I ended up taking forever to get into the shower, so she just put what she wanted washed on top of the washing machine. Then when I got out of the shower, I went downstairs and added my clothes to hers and started the wash. Then I went back upstairs and went to bed. Needless to say, I was super tired this morning. I arrived at the Royal Alex hospital at 7:45am and parked in the very first parkade that I saw. I totally fluked out, because I payed the ridiculous amount for parking at the machine then went up an elevator and through an entrance that seemed like a bizarre, back entrance. I thought that I would be lost for sure! It just said hospital and had an arrow, so I followed it. There was a tiny information desk so I showed them the form that I received in the mail, that said I was there for a “Gastric Emptying Study” (yes, I had never heard of it!) I just knew that I needed to find the diagnostic imaging main reception desk. Here’s the total fluke: the lady tells me that I just have to walk straight down the hall about 50 feet and it’s the first room on my left!! In the entire hospital, there are about 4 or 5 parkades and there also is general street parking, and there are also several different entrances to the hospital from the parkade that I chose to park in!! However, I just happened to turn into the very first parkade that I saw and I parked and bought a ticket saw a sign, with an arrow that said hospital entrance, I shrugged and followed it – with absolutely ZERO clue where the heck I was going!! Crazy!! So, anyway, I had to check in at the reception desk. Then a volunteer student walked me over (not very far) to nuclear medicine). There, after I filled out a small form about my menstrual cycle and whether or not I could possibly be pregnant (not, most definitely not!!) a girl called me in and sat me down and pulled a table up to me. She asked me if I had any food allergies. She made me some food that I had to eat. Some egg whites, that had some kind of radioactive stuff in them that I wouldn’t be able to taste, some toast with strawberry jam and a small glass of water. I had to eat it in 10 minutes. If I couldn’t eat it all, the eggs were the most important thing to eat, because whatever they put in them was what would show up on the pictures that they were going to be taking afterwards. I had to eat with gloves on, (weird!!) it was not easy, since I still feel just as nauseous today and I really haven’t been eating a lot at all!! I tried really hard to focus on the eggs. I managed to eat all of the eggs and most of one piece of toast. I drank all of the water. Once I was finished, she brought into an x-ray type room. I didn’t have to change into a gown or anything. She just put a sticker thing on my right hip and on the right side of my neck. Then I just stood between these big things that looked like an x-ray machine, but she said it was different then an x-ray, because the radioactive material is already inside me, not going inside me from the machine. Once she was finished, it took only about 45 seconds, she made marks on my skin so that she could put the stickers back in the exact same spot. Then I went to the waiting room. An hour later she took another picture, exactly the same way. An hour later, another picture. Then I had to wait 2 hours, during which I most definitely fell asleep in the waiting room!! Then she took the last picture. It was about 1:00pm by the time this final picture was finished. I was quite thirsty. Most people probably would’ve been hungry, since you can’t eat or drink during the whole time, but I haven’t really been eating for weeks it feels like, so I was just thirsty and tired!! They don’t let you eat, because they want to see what your body looks like as the food goes through it, because they’re trying to figure out why I’ve been losing weight and feeling crappy. However, I know my luck and history, the test is going to come back completely normal… Anyway, I quickly found my way back to my van and drove back to Beaumont. I went to Shoppers and bought some bleeping monthly supplies yet again!!(which, here I go with TMI again, and using the word “bleeping” again!!) I mean, come on! Who gets their bleeping period every 2 weeks for 3 months straight?! You know how expensive that gets?! Tampons and pads aren’t cheap you know?! No one wants their period once a month, so who in their right mind wants it bleeping twice?! Who?! Not me, I’ll tell you that much!! Anyway, after Shoppers I got gas in the van. Then I went home, did another load of laundry for my daughter and then I laid down for a whole hour…which doesn’t make up for only getting 4.5 hours of sleep!! But, I got up anyway and I got dressed again and I drove my daughter to dance. Once I dropped her off, I drove to Timmy’s and bought my earl grey tea (2 milks, 1 honey) and a muffin. Then I drove back to the studio. It was surprisingly nice out today. After the freezing cold weather we’ve had it felt downright balmy at only -3!! I was easily able to shut off the van while waiting for her. I only restarted it once to warm it up and not for very long, environmentalists would have liked me better today… When she was finished, we drove back to town. I had to go to Shoppers again to pick up a prescription. Then we went home. My hubby had supper finished. I didn’t eat. I was feeling tired and nauseous. I got everybody’s water bottles ready while they were eating. Then I drove my daughter to her friend’s house so she could work on a school project. Then I came back home. I let the dogs out and then I went upstairs, the dogs usually come up with me, which is why I let them out before going upstairs. I changed into my pjs and hopped into bed. My oldest daughter came upstairs a little while later to say goodnight, she has to work early tomorrow, so she was going to bed. Then my son came upstairs and wanted me to get him ready for bed. Once he was in bed I went on my phone for a while. Now I’m totally beat! I’m going to get ready for bed.

A Driving Day!!

I really didn’t sleep well again last night. I was feeling pretty tired for most of the day today. My son laid beside me and went on my phone until about noon, then he went downstairs, because my hubby made a big brunch. It’s Family Day, so the kids didn’t have school today and my oldest daughter was off work today as well. I stayed upstairs in bed. My younger daughter came up to my room after eating and we talked for a while. Then my son and older daughter also came up. I went downstairs to the basement and helped my oldest daughter with her laundry. My younger daughter came down to do some of her laundry as well. I found an old box of my clothes and started going through some of it. We started laughing hysterically at some of the things that we found in it. We were just being extremely silly. I was laughing so hard that my tummy felt even more sick – lol! When we finally went back upstairs, my younger daughter and I got dressed and then I drove the van to a church parking lot that’s really big and close to us. You can drive all the way around the church and the parking lot was completely deserted, there were only 2 cars parked there. There were a few snow piles and it was a bit icy in spots, but not bad. Then we switched places and she adjusted the seat, steering wheel and mirrors and then she practiced driving around the parking lot!! It was only her second time driving! She knew that I wasn’t feeling well, but she really wanted to go, so I agreed to take her!! She went around quite a few times, in both directions and practiced signalling. She also practiced parking and reversing out of the spot. She did really well!! I think that she got pretty comfortable with it. She didn’t want to go onto the icy roads. She wants to try on a quiet Sunday evening or morning, when we put a “student driver” sign in the back window. So we just practiced in the parking lot today!! Then we switched back and I drove to the Sobeys and got us each a drink and I bought some milk. Then we went home. At home I almost laid down in bed when my oldest daughter needed me in the living room, I found her some glue and tape that she needed. Also, we went through a box of old children’s books that my hubby found in the hall closet. Then I went back upstairs. He also found a magazine rack and small, matching book shelf that I had bought and never put together. They had started building it while we were out driving and finished it when we got home. I took the magazine rack upstairs, into my bathroom. I quickly organized my books and magazines in my bathroom and put them into it. My oldest daughter took the shelf. Then I finally laid down for a short time, while they had supper. After supper my younger daughter came up and laid beside me. We talked for a while. Then my hubby came up to give my son a bath. I realized that I have an early morning appointment tomorrow. My daughter went to her room to do her math homework. I went downstairs and let out the dogs and filled water bottles. Then I came back upstairs. My daughter came back into my room and climbed back into bed beside me. She was there when my son came in to see me. She got up to go have a shower. Then I got him ready and into bed. I went on my phone briefly and wrote this… I have to shower myself!! I have to get to bed at a decent time, because I have to leave here by 6:45am for my appointment in the morning!! That’s early for me…yuck!! Especially when I feel the way I do…

Another Extra Dance Rehearsal

This morning, even though I wasn’t feeling any better, I got up at about 10:45 and got myself ready to drive my daughter to her extra modern dance rehearsal. We left at about 11:30. She danced from 12:00 – 2:00. After dropping her off, I went to Walmart. I bought a few things that we needed. Then I went to the Starbucks that was close and bought an earl grey tea (2 milks, 1 honey) and I bought a blueberry muffin. I drove back to the studio to wait for the rest of the time. It wasn’t quite as cold outside as it has been, so I was able to shut off the van and just start it every now and then to warm it up. When she was finished dancing, we drove back to Beaumont and stopped at the Sobeys in town. I bought a few groceries that we needed. Then we went home. I put away the groceries, then I did something completely different from the norm, I went upstairs and laid down!! How surprising right?! From then on I basically stayed in bed! My kids came in every now and then to see me, but I really didn’t do much else or feel up to much else. I got my son into bed when it was bedtime. I kind of half fell asleep after I got him to sleep. Then I woke up and went on my phone for a while. Now I’m writing this. Then I’m going to get ready for bed.

Another Day In Bed…This Has Gone On Forever!!

I hardly slept last night. I mean I literally laid awake in bed all bloody night feeling like shit!! I’m really very sick of this nausea and diarrhea…hopefully I hear back from the lab next week and they actually find something…it’s simply not normal to feel this crappy for 2 weeks straight! So, surprise surprise! I stayed in bed today! My oldest daughter came into my room when she got home from work, probably around 3:30. She had to work early today and she was tired when she got home. She fell asleep beside me in my bed. My younger daughter had a winter fun day at the camp that she worked at last summer all day today. So her friend picked her up early this morning and she was gone for most of the day. My hubby wanted to go hang out with his friend, so my son brought his Switch upstairs and he laid on the bed in between my daughter and I and played a video game. Then when my younger daughter came home, she came into my room. We got some food for the kids and I made myself some chicken noodle soup again. My younger daughter went upstairs to her room. Then my oldest daughter, my son and I watched How To Train Your Dragon 1 (because it’s such a darn entertaining movie!!) while we ate. Then she went to bed. I got my son ready for bed. Then I went back to bed also. I went on my phone for a while, drifted off a bit and now I’m quickly writing this. My hubby is still out. I know that I heard him come in, but when I took something downstairs for my son a while ago, my van was back, but he wasn’t here…so he must have dropped off the vehicle and left in his friend’s car. I’m going to get ready for bed now.

A Useless Day…

This morning I did the same thing as yesterday morning, I got my son ready upstairs and my hubby got him ready downstairs. Well, today I went downstairs and fed and let the dogs out. I said goodbye to my son, then went back upstairs. I said goodbye to my daughter and went back to bed. I stayed in bed all day, like usual. I got up a few times. I said goodbye to my oldest daughter when she was going to work. My younger daughter came into my room later in the day to talk to me. My hubby talked to me about a couple things. I got up briefly when my oldest daughter came home from work, well when my hubby went and got her. The black car didn’t start today, so my hubby drove and picked her up from work. I made us some chicken noodle soup. My hubby made everyone else pizza earlier. However, my daughter feels like she’s getting a cold, so she felt like soup and after the way I felt yesterday after eating that sub, there was no way that I was going to eat pizza!! So I had soup with her! Then I let the dogs out and filled water bottles and then went back upstairs! What’s fun filled day it was today! I got my son into bed when he came upstairs! Then I went on my phone for a while. Now I’m going to get ready for bed and see if I sleep tonight!!

Happy Valentines’ Day

Last night I slept like hell. I was up a lot, using the facilities… and I just didn’t get a whole lot of sleep. I asked my hubby if he would get my son fed, make his lunch and drive him to school again, so that I could stay in bed. He agreed. So, I got up and got my son ready upstairs, dressed, etc and my hubby got him ready downstairs. Unfortunately, I didn’t really actually sleep much at all today. So, I’m feeling extremely exhausted right now… I did rest I guess, as I was in bed for most of the day, but I didn’t actually really sleep much. I got up when the kids came home from school. I dropped my daughter off at dance and went to Subway to get my daughter some supper. I got myself a 6 inch sub for supper as well. I dropped her food off at the studio. Then I drove to my parent’s house. I ate my sub there. Bad bad idea…after hardly eating for the past week and a half!! My tummy is so so angry at me!! Very very unhappy with me!! After I ate I laid down on their couch for a bit. Then I had a bath in their nice big tub!! That was how I spent my Valentines evening… Then I had to go get my daughter from dance. Her ballet teacher ordered them heart shaped pizzas!! I picked her up and we drove home. When I got home my oldest daughter wanted me to go to Shoppers with her, she picked up a stuffed animal and some chocolates for her brother and her sister for Valentine’s Day and chocolate for her dad. I told her not to get me any. The way my tummy has been, there was definitely no way that I was going to be eating chocolate any time soon!! When I got home I let out the dogs and filled water bottles. Then I went upstairs to get ready for bed. I went on my phone for a while. I’m beat and feel absolutely ill 🤢. I need to get some sleep…

The Most Dreaded Words Ever: “Please Collect A Stool Sample…”

This morning I barely got out of bed. My son wanted me to get him up a bit earlier then (I feel like I need to go back to high school…or perhaps junior high, I know that I keep messing up my “thens” and “thans”… it’s driving me crazy!! I guess I could just ask my english teacher mother and she would tell me! Anyway…) he wanted me to wake him up earlier then (?!) normal so that he could do something on his Fortnite vide game with my hubby. So, I woke him up. Got him his clothes and he brushed his hair, etc. Then he had me wake up my hubby and they went downstairs to do whatever it was that they wanted to do on the video game. I laid in bed. By the time I went downstairs my hubby had already fed him breakfast and made him his lunch for school. I asked if he would drive him to school today. So, I basically let the dogs out, said goodbye to my son and went back to bed. Guess why?! Tough one there…because my damn tummy felt like shit!! Big bleeping surprise!! (I’m wanting to swear lots out of pure frustration, but I really try not to do that on here…so I went with bleeping!Huh. Sounds stupid!) Anyway, I kind of feel like I’m wasting my life away. Lying in bed day in day out. As my body wastes away, because I’m hardly eating anything at all…for a good week and a half now. I haven’t actually weighed myself since Friday, but I’m certain that I’ve lost more weight. I set an alarm for 1:55pm, so that I could make one of those “walk in” (they call it “walk in”, but you have to make an appointment that afternoon…strange!) appointments for this evening. I didn’t sleep all day, just kind of off and on. At 2:00 I made my dr’s appointment for 6:00 tonight. I basically stayed in bed until 5:30!!! Yes, I have a fun, interesting and exciting life! My kids came in a couple times to talk to me during that time. I probably would have gotten up to drive my daughter to dance, but her earlier hip hop class was canceled today, so she only had a late class today, which I planned on driving her to after my appointment. I got up at 5:30, made myself look presentable, in my jeans that I bought a couple months ago, because I lost so much weight my other ones were falling off. Well, these ones are now starting to do the same thing. I’ve tried to shrink them…without much luck. With the hubby not working, I can’t really afford new clothes right now…hmmm. So, loose clothes it was! Besides, they at least don’t bother my tummy!! (Always a bright side right?!) The dr, of course, (just like my Momma said) wants to me do a stool culture. (Which, by the way, I, bleeping, [yes with the bleeping again!!] hate!! And I’m truly not a fan of the word hate and I don’t use it lightly!! Stool samples suck generally, because I mean who in their right mind wants to collect a stool sample?! Right?! But, doing so when literally EVERYTHING, makes you gag [like brushing your teeth, the wind blowing your own hair into your mouth, feeding the dogs, taking out the garbage…you get the picture – EVERYTHING literally makes me gag!!] sucks even harder!! The last time I had to do a, bleeping, stool sample I literally threw up all over my bedroom floor!! I tried running out of the bathroom to escape the not so pleasant ENTIRE experience and ended up throwing up in my bedroom!! Seriously NOT fun!! So, needless to say, this is not something that I’m looking forward to doing!) Okay, enough with the dramatics… (gee, and I wonder where my kids get it from – lol!) The dr also gave me more of the nausea medication that I already take (that I’m not certain actually works…but hey, she tried!) and she gave me a medication that is supposed to help with the cramping and pain that accompanies the diarrhea. So, that one is new and wasn’t covered under our craptacular health plan. I guess I will see if that helps. She wants me to do the stool culture ASAP!! So, I guess that I will go to the lab tomorrow morning after I drop off my son at school to pick up the stupid collection thingy that they give you. It was closed by the time I was finished at the dr’s office tonight. I had to wait for an hour to go into the examination room for my appointment. Then I quickly went to the Shoppers and they said that the prescription would take a half an hour. I told them that I would have to come back later. I had to get home to drive my daughter to dance!! So, I went home and picked her up and we drove to the city. I dropped her off, then I went to Timmy’s and had the same as yesterday, my earl grey tea (2 milks, 1 honey) and a rather plain muffin (I figured I should try eating something today…) Then I went back to the studio. She only had the one class, so it didn’t make any sense driving back home. I waited for her to finish, then we drove back to Beaumont. Her friend that we usually drive home has the flu that is going through their studio, so she wasn’t there tonight. I stopped at the Shoppers and picked up my prescription, then we went home. My hubby was putting my son to bed when we got home, but when he heard me come in he wanted me to come sing to him. I let the dogs out and filled up my daughter and my water bottles and then went upstairs and sang to my son. Then I went on my phone for a while. Now I’m going to get ready for bed.

Same Old Crap…Literally 😆

This morning I did the exact same thing that I did yesterday morning, I went right back to bed after I dropped off my son at school. My damn tummy is no better. Here I go over-sharing again, but I had had diarrhea 4 times, beginning at 6:45 and it was 8:45! I was feeling sick and nauseous and tired! I stayed in bed all day again!! I know I cannot keep going on like this, but today is the day that I stay in the city when I drive my daughter to dance, so I couldn’t make one of those walk-in dr appointments at the Beaumont clinic for this evening, so I’m going to do so tomorrow. I got up when my oldest came into my room at about 3:20. I was getting up around then anyway, because I knew that I had to drive my daughter to dance. I got dressed and took enough Imodium to get me to, hopefully, last through her two dance classes. Then we left at around 4:00. She had forgotten her favourite blanket at her friend’s house when she slept over there last week, so we quickly drove by there on the way and picked it up. I dropped her off and drove to the Timmy’s and bought an Earl Grey tea (2 milks, 1 honey!!) and a very plain muffin, since I hadn’t eaten anything. Then I drove back to the studio. Although it was cold outside, I just waited in the van. I intended to drive to my parent’s house, but the traffic to the Timmy’s was horrendous! It was so backed up that what would have normally been a 5 minute drive turned into a 25 minute drive! So, time wise, it no longer made much sense to drive much sense to go to my parent’s house. I probably should have gone inside the studio and turned off the van, in this weather!! However, I was just feeling so shitty and anti-social! So, I was very un-environmentally friendly and let it run the whole time… I can just hear people sighing and tsking at me right now – lol. When she was finished dancing we drove home. My hubby had made spaghetti for supper. I just filled up my and the kids water bottles and went upstairs and laid down in bed (because that’s fun and different!!) My hubby brought my son upstairs at his bedtime and he wanted me to read and sing to him (my son, not my hubby – lol) so I did that. Then I went on my phone briefly. Now I’m going to brush my teeth and wash my face, so I feel a little less gross. Then I’m heading to bed. Hopefully I can sleep without spending the entire night on the toilet…🥴

Mary Poppins Returns Was Great!!

This morning, after I dropped off my son at school, I went back upstairs and went to bed. My stupid stomach was still feeling nauseous and every time that I go to the bathroom I end up having diarrhea…still!! My mom thinks that it’s something more than a normal bug and that I should go to a dr. I guess that it has been going on for a long time…it started bugging me a lot again last Monday night, so that makes it a week, which is longer than your average bug. It bothers me that it’s kept me off of the treadmill and from doing my yoga, because I was doing so well and getting into a good routine. I don’t want to fall out of it, but I really just don’t feel up to doing all that much!! I literally stayed in bed until my daughter came into my room at about 3:10. She comes home early every second day this semester, because she has a spare last block every second day! She woke me up, because she wanted me to drive her to dance today. So, I got dressed and I drove her to dance when my hubby got home from picking up my son from school. I dropped her off, then drove back home. I made a simple supper of tortellini tonight and I ate a bit of it. Then my daughter and I went to see Mary Poppins at South Common. We have wanted to see it since it’s come out and really wanted to see it while it was still in the theatres. I had enough Scene points to get my ticket for free, so my daughter only had to pay for her ticket. She bought us drinks. She bought some popcorn, but because of the way my tummy has been, I barely ate any. The movie was really very good!! It definitely did not disappoint!! There were some sadder scenes compared to the first one, but that is to be expected if you know the premise of the movie; that Michael Bank’s wife has recently (within the past year) passed away. It was very entertaining and Emily Blunt fills the shoes of Mary Poppins quite well!! She does a great job and must have watched and rewatched the original movie over and over again to get the nuances of Mary Poppins down pat!! She was wonderful!! I definitely found it entertaining and will certainly watch it again! After the movie, we braved the cold and drove home in my cold van, which didn’t take too long to warm up, thankfully! My autostart actually worked from inside the lobby by the area where you buy the popcorn! I was pretty surprised! Once we got home, I let the dogs out and then came upstairs and started to get ready for bed. I doddled a bit, because I just wasn’t feeling well – so I took my time. Then I went on my phone for a bit. I’m going to get to bed right away now though.
