Indigo Day

This morning I went to Indigo to meet an old friend for coffee at the Starbucks. We haven’t seen each other in more than 8 years!! That’s crazy! We somehow got busy with our own day to day stuff and drifted apart. We went from seeing each other about 5 days a week to not seeing each other at all. It’s pretty sad. Anyway, we met this morning and talked from about 10:25 – 1:35 straight. It was really nice to see her and to catch up with her. After she left, I wandered around the store. I saw a bunch of things that would work for Christmas gifts. I bought a couple things for my son. I also saw The Elf On The Shelf. It comes with the little elf and a story book. My son has been wanting one since Kindergarten!! I haven’t been able to find one anywhere, so I bought it for the family. By the time I finished and drove home it was time to pick up the kids from school. I quickly hid the gifts and got back in the car and drove to the school. I told them I bought a surprise and they guessed on the ride home. I gave them hints and they tried guessing. When we got home, I gave them a more obvious hint and my son figured it out!! I got the box out and we named our little elf and I read the story. Afterwards, I had to run to Shoppers quickly. When I got back I made my dancing daughter supper quickly, so that she could eat before dance. Once she and my hubby left for dance, my son and I played a few games. Then we went outside and started to shovel the driveway. When my hubby got back, we all shovelled together. Then we went back inside and had supper. Then we played the game Fantastic Gymnastics. I then did the dishes and we came upstairs to get ready for bed. I put him to bed, then got myself ready. I keep falling asleep, which is why this is just so simple at the end. Now I am going to bed. Night All! 💤😴

Hubby’s Home!

Today my son went to school. My hubby was home today, because he had asked for it off for my Dr Hauptman appointment, however we saw him on Saturday instead. He decided to keep the day off. So, we watched the rest of the movie The Hitman’s Bodyguard. We tried watching it a couple of weeks ago and got about 15 minutes into it, but it was skipping the entire time!! It was too annoying to watch it that way. It was pretty funny. However, there was a great deal of violence! And Samuel L. Jackson’s language is pretty graphic!! After the movie, we watched an episode of The Good Doctor. Once it was over I prepared a stew in the slow cooker and got it started. Then I went through emails, checked out some early Black Friday sales online. While I was doing this, my hubby put on a stand up comedian show that was on Netflix, I can’t remember the guys name. It was mostly pretty funny. Afterwards, I went on the Garage website (a clothing store that the girls like) and did some online Christmas shopping. I’m actually quite angry about it…I even emailed them. Just an hour after I did my order I received an email from the Garage saying that there was a sale from now, through the night only, 40% off of all orders!! Just 1 hour!! How maddening!! I could have saved so much and we’re on a pretty tight Christmas budget too!! Grrr… So I emailed them asking if I could have that discount applied to my order. I mean, what’s the worst they can say?? No? Well, I can live with that. Knowing that at least I tried. I usually just suck it up, but I was feeling very frustrated about the whole situation. After all of that BS, my son and I played a memory game. The cards were different landmarks and things from Turkey. After that game, we played a card game with regular cards. My son made part of the game up. When that was finished, we started to play a Wii game together, I hardly played when my daughter wanted a ride to DQ for her and a couple of her friends. When we came back, the stew was ready to eat. It was quite good! After supper, my son and I played a Wii game. We played this until it was almost supper time. Then I did the dishes. When they were finished we went upstairs to get him ready for bed. Then I put him to bed and got myself ready as well. I’m falling asleep while writing. Which leads me to believe that it’s now time for me to go to bed as well. Night All! 💤😴

A Whole Lot Of Games!

This morning when we woke up my son was coughing and sneezing and all sniffles. We decided to keep him home from school for the day. We had breakfast and I had some coffee (it’s one of the first cups I’ve made at home in some time…my tummy was acting up for so long that I wasn’t drinking coffee!) I hope that I’m not getting sick too, I had a really sore throat all day today!! My son watched videos, while hubby went to Virgin Mobile with my oldest and I watched a couple of episodes of The Big Bang Theory. Once the two episodes were done we played Battleship, Guess Who and Flip It. After all the games, I went onto my Groupon App and did some Christmas shopping. I ordered some cool things. I can’t wait to see them! Groupon took me a while, as there was tons of scrolling to do in order to see everything they were selling. After my “shopping”, my son wanted to play another game, however I had some important phone calls to make. First I called my friend Jo, we spoke yesterday. She called about a mutual friend that is currently going through a really rough time. Today she told me a bit about what’s going on and we discussed ways we could help our friend. We also talked about her coming to my house to help me clean and organize my son’s bedroom. The three of us have been friends since we were kids. We need to get together, at least for coffee or something. It’s sad how we all get so busy and caught up with our own lives that we don’t make the time to get together. So, we really need to plan something. After talking with Jo, I called our friend. She really is having a difficult time right now. She told me all about what is going on in her life. I feel very guilty for not being in contact with her recently. We talked for about an hour and a half. Despite her current situation, it was super nice to get in touch. She says she wants to get together soon. Hopefully the three of us can meet. I’ll be praying for her. When I got off of the phone it was time to make supper. It was getting late and my hubby was starving. So, I decided to make tortellini, as it’s quite fast. After supper, once the dishes were finished, my son and I played Disney Scene It (it’s a board game that includes a DVD with different puzzles and things to do. After the game, I made a small package of meat stuffed tortellini, as my younger daughter doesn’t like the cheese tortellini that the rest of us ate!! Once her food was done and I added those dishes to the dishwasher and started it. I then called the pharmacy to see if there was a refill on her migraine medication, as she came home from dance in pain. They said she was out of refills, but if she had a migraine they would give me a box of the pills anyway. I told them that she did, so they said they’d get the prescription ready. Once I got off the phone my son and I went upstairs to get him ready for bed. After he was asleep, I got myself ready for bed too. During this time my oldest came home from work. She had her prescription, my younger daughter’s and my Suboxone…yay!! It went through the insurance without any problems and only cost $2.00, rather than $500.00!! Talk about a big difference in price! Then I finished getting ready for bed and am now writing this!! It must be time for bed though (I’m certainly tired enough!!) So, on that note I’m going to bed now. Night All! 💤😴

Shopping Afternoon!

This morning my son and I played Tetris in bed, once we woke up. A lady was coming to pick up an item that I’m selling on VarageSale at 12:00, so we stopped playing and went downstairs. We were down early enough to eat before she arrived. I had eggs and toast, my son just wanted toast. She came at 12:10. I made a whole $5.00!! Woohoo!! After she left, my son and I played Minecraft and a couple other games for a bit, while my hubby watched football. After the game, my hubby went to a friend’s house to watch the Edmonton Game. My dancing daughter needed a new dance bag, so we decided to drive to the Winners by my mom and dad’s house. My son really didn’t want to come, so found a friend that he could go play with. So, we dropped him off and drove to Winners. We found a great deal on an Addis gym bag. It was marked down from $50.00 to $26.00!! Great deal!! Once we had the bag picked out, we decided to get a bit more Christmas shopping done. We bought some things for my son, my daughter and something small for my mom and dad. I also bought my dancing daughter new black leggings, a sports bra and a phone case (hers broke and she needs a case!!) Well, things certainly add up quickly…really quickly! I’m nearing the top of my budget and I’m not feeling like I am done. It’s freaking me out!! When we were done shopping, we drove back to Beaumont. I grabbed a few things from Sobeys then we picked up my son. Once we got home I had to figure out what I was cooking for supper. I decided on chicken fajitas. I got the chicken defrosting and went and picked up my hubby. He had too much to drink while watching the game and didn’t want to drive. So we left his car there for the night. We can run and get it in the morning. I cooked the fajitas, then four of us (my oldest was at work) sat down for a late dinner. By the time supper was finished and the dishes were done, I played the balloon game with my son for 10 minutes, then put him to bed. By then it was getting late. I really was disappointed that I was so busy. I needed to call a friend who is going through a rough time right now and I didn’t get a chance!! I will call her tomorrow afternoon for sure! I’m worried about her. The past few nights I’ve gone to bed way too late and it’s only 11:38, so I’m going to take my pills and hit the hay. Night All! 💤😴

Dr Hauptman’s Appointment

My daughter’s dance bag broke today

This is does not make me yell “Yay!”

Now she will need to get a new one

Guess who will have to get that done

I had to see Dr Hauptman at 10:20

We talked for a while and he said plenty

There is a way to stay on brand name meds

He said generic doesn’t work as well in our heads

The drug company will pay the difference between generic and brand name

I wish I didn’t have to play this game

The insurance company is a pain in my ass

The 120 days only is just filled with class

The dr gave me a new sweating pill

They help dry you out, if you will

I hope they work to decrease the sweat

That sounds a bit strange I bet

After the dr my hubby and I had breakfast together

We talked about a lot, just not the weather

It’s been some time since we were together without the kids

They were at home watching some vids

We talked about Christmas, we talked about money

Now that’s a topic that’s never funny

We drove home after that breakfast meal

Once we were home, I drove my son to his friend’s

I did the dishes when I got back

While my daughter watched a show where Gordon Ramsey give someone flack

I had to drive my daughter to dance

No days off of that – not a chance

When I got home I made us food

This put my oldest in s good mood

I’m falling asleep as I type this

That does not fill me with bliss

After supper we were lazy bums

We stay like that until bedtime comes

Night All! 💤😴

Baby Shower!

I had a long and busy day today. It’s 1:30 am and I’m super tired. So I’m going to try to keep this short! While the kids were at school, my oldest and I had to:

Get gas

Buy a card, gift bag, bows and tissue paper

Pick up a buy and sell item

Run to the dentist for my daughter to pay an old bill and book appointments

Totally wipe down the entire used exersauser we bought for my niece’s baby shower

Wrap the gifts – a ton of clothes (pants, shirts, sleepers, sweater, button up shirts, slippers, snugglie, little outfit – we got a great deal and bought her a ton of clothes

Organize the game shelf in the basement

Pick up the kids

Take a shower

Get ready to go

Pick up my daughter from a friends

On the way to the baby shower we drove to a ladies house in the city and bought some Kylie liquid lipstick. Then we drove to my niece’s place for her baby shower. It was really nice to see her and the baby and to meet people who have been there for her and who’ve taken her in when she needed it. They were very kind and good people. I got a really good feeling from them and I’m super relieved. They clearly care about her a great deal. I think that she was surprised by how much we bought her. She seemed to like it all. We had a nice visit with them. Other than us, there were the two people who my niece lives with and their daughter, two girls from my niece’s church and the grandmother of the girl who lives there. Little Zavier was pretty cranky!! The debate about letting babies cry themselves to sleep was brought up. I, personally, am on the side where you pick the poor little one up if they’re crying. Not everyone there agreed with me. We had a very good talk. We left around 11:20 and got home at around 12:00. ( I’m starting to fall asleep, I have to wrap this up!!) once home, I briefly talked to my hubby, then I went upstairs and got ready for bed. And here I am!! And now I’m going to bed!! It’s ridiculously late!! Night All! 💤😴

Online Christmas Shopping!!

Today was a bit more lazy than the past couple of days. This morning, once the kids were off to school, my daughter and I went to pick up some buy and sell items. First we went to a lady in town to pick up a gift for my younger daughter. It’s brand new with tags and I think she’s going to like it…I hope so. Then we drove to Leduc to pick up somethings for my niece’s baby shower tomorrow. The lady was super nice! She invited us in and let us go through her baby stuff. Her son is now one and she has a ton of stuff!! She was really organized and everything was in excellent condition. We figured, why get one or two new things when you can get far more if it’s secondhand! I’m not writing down what all we ended up with, as I’m not certain whether or not my niece reads this. Suffice it to say that we ended up with a lot and I’m sure she’s going to appreciate it all. She’s probably going to be surprised at the amount of stuff we got, it was just such a good price. As we were leaving, the lady ran downstairs and grabbed a toy for the baby and just gave it to us for free. She really was kind. Once we got back to Beaumont, my daughter was hungry. So, she got some food and we watched a show while she ate. When the show was done, my daughter had to get dressed for work and then she had to go. She worked from 1:00-9:00 today. Once she left, I made myself some food and watched the new show called The Good Doctor. It’s a really good show about an autistic guy who’s probably in his mid to late twenties. He’s a savant and gets hired at a hospital as a surgical resident. Most of the staff and board are/were against the idea of hiring him and it’s about his battle to be accepted and recognized. It’s quite good, really interesting and entertaining. When it was over I did some online Christmas shopping. I found a few things for my younger daughters, my son and my hubby…pretty much everyone. It took a while, searching things, comparing prices, figuring out what’s worth buying and making sure it would ship on time. Once I was done my “shopping”, I had to pick the kids up from school. We had about 5 or 10 minutes at home before we had to leave to drive my daughter to dance. When my son and I got back into Beaumont, we popped in to Sobeys, then drove home. At home we played the balloon game, the sword game, and Tetris on the iPad. Then I had to make supper. My hubby and dancing daughter came home as it was cooking. We all ate supper. After supper, my hubby and I watched another episode of The Good Doctor. Then I took my son upstairs to get ready for bed. Once he was asleep I got myself ready and then sat down to write this post. Now that I’m finally at the end, as I’ve been doing the fun falling asleep and deleting my post game, I’m going to stop before I do it again!! Night All! 💤😴

I Actually Slept!!!

Here I am, about to write down a rundown of my day. How exciting! (Said with sarcasm!!) Well, here I go!! Today, after the kids went to school, I had my morning cup of tea with my daughter (the oldest). A lady wants to buy one of the toys that I have for sale on VarageSale, so we messaged back and forth to arrange pickup. We then went back over my daughter’s budget and adjusted things, since the dr advised that she stay home today. Then we had breakfast and watched a show while we ate. We started a second show and about halfway through my good friend Holly phoned. We haven’t talked for ages, so we caught up and chatted for a while. It was so nice to hear from her. So often I miss her calls or I’m busy when she calls or something interferes, so I’m glad we were able to talk. So much has changed in her life! We met when my now 15 year old daughter was about 9 months old. A mutual friend referred me to Holly because I was looking for a babysitter for when my daughter turned one and I went back to work (wow!! It’s been almost 15 years since I worked…that’s crazy! After all those years of university and work…huh. I worked that next year and then had to stop due to illness…story of my life – literally!!) I immediately liked Holly, she was so good with my baby girl. She immediately brought out toys and her three month old was there they sat and played and the way she interacted with the babies was perfect! So, she became my babysitter part time for my oldest (before and after school) and three days a week with my baby. We gradually became close friends. When we ended up moving across the street from her we got even closer. Our girls were together for 3 years! Then, when my daughter was 4 Holly and her kiddos (she has 4) moves to Rocky Mtn House. I miss her! Anyway…I sure went off on a tangent! After Holly and I talked, my daughter has dentist stuff to deal with and then we finished our show and watched one more. After that, we went downstairs and did some more cleaning and organizing in my daughter’s room. I had to run out after a while, to get the kiddos from school. Once I picked them up, we went to the bank, Tim Horton’s and home. Once home, I went back downstairs to continue helping my daughter. I was only down there a short amount of time before I had to go upstairs to start supper. My daughter had to leave for dance around 5:30 and I wanted to get the food ready before she left, because she has to dance until 9:30 on Wednesdays. By the time she’s home it’s 10:00! She definitely needs food. While preparing supper I messaged back and forth with a lady on VarageSale to arrange price and time for me to pick something up from her. It brand new with tags, for my younger daughter for Christmas. My hubby got home from work just in time to quickly eat and change, then drive my daughter to dance. He didn’t come home while she danced, he just went to my parent’s house. We watched another show while eating supper. After supper, I finished ironing the pearler beads that my son and older daughter were doing. Then I did the dishes. We then went back downstairs to my daughter’s room and worked in there for another hour. Then we came upstairs, my son and I played the balloon game for 5 minutes (we made a deal!) We did bedtime the same way as last night, my daughter got him ready for bed (I did the goopy eared dog), then she read to him, while I got ready for bed. He fell asleep for her again!! Yay! Then my daughter had a shower and I started writing my post. And…here I am!! Now I’m going to take off and get some sleep. Hey! Did I mention that I’ve been sleeping the past two nights?? Cool eh?! Yay me!! Night All! 💤😴

Just Little Old Me…

Today felt like a very busy day, although I didn’t really do that much. After getting the kids ready for school, well more like getting my son ready, my daughter gets ready by herself! Anyway, once he was ready and my hubby and son left, I sat down with some nummy earl grey tea to watch The Good Doctor on Shaw on demand. About halfway through my show my oldest daughter woke up. She currently has a sinus infection that’s causing her grief. We went through our Avon books together to figure out our Christmas order for the year. (Every year I order some of my gifts from Avon.) We figured out what we wanted, then emailed our Avon rep our orders. After getting that done, we did my daughter’s budget for the next month and a half. She’s missed a lot of work due to illness and wanted to see how much she was getting paid, what’s coming out, etc. Next we discovered the reason our dog Daisy has been smelling so bad over he past week is because she has an ear infection. Great…just what we need this close to Christmas, a vet bill. Why can’t you just get the medication?? We know it’s an ear infection. It looks just like the one she had this summer. I still have antibiotic drops left from then that aren’t expired, so hopefully it’s enough to do the job. If not then I don’t know what we’ll do. We really can’t afford it right now. Fingers crossed that I have enough of the drops to heal it. After that lovely discovery, we had a late breakfast, more tea and watched one show. Once the show was over, we went over our grocery list to see what we buy at No Frills and what we get at Sobeys. Once we finished, we got dressed and went to No Frills. We did a big shop there. We tried to get as much as possible from No Frills, as it’s usually cheaper. We always buy fresh bread and produce from Sobeys, unless the veggies look okay at No Frills. We ended up only buying like three things from Sobeys and a huge cart full from No Frills. When we finished shopping it was time to pick the kiddos up from school. I pick my daughter up first, because she’s out ten minutes earlier. We picked her up with four of her friends, who all piled into the back. They were all going to one girls house, so I agreed to drive them. We got my son, dropped the girls off, then we went to Sobeys. I went in and my oldest and my son waited in the van. Once I grabbed a few things, we drove home. We then unloaded the van, put the groceries away, cleaned all of the old stuff out of the fridge and sat down for a bit. I checked messages, emails, VarageSale, etc. We messaged a lady about something for my niece and arranged pickup for Thursday. I helped my son with his LEGO for a bit, then we prepared Shake n’ Bake and got it in the oven, easy peasy!! Once it was in the oven we left for my daughter’s dr appointment at the walk in clinic. I dropped her off, went and picked up my younger daughter, took her home, then went back to the clinic and picked up my oldest. We went back home and, after hunting down a missing piece of LEGO in the stupid shag carpet, I made rice and veggies to go with the chicken. I did the dishes as it cooked. My hubby came home from work while I was doing this. He had to drive the Miata (if that’s spelled correctly) to work today. In the snow. I hate that he has to be in that little convertible in the winter on shitty roads. I always picture him in an accident or in a ditch somewhere. Freaks me out! The kids set the table and we all had supper together. After supper I played the balloon game with my son for a short time. My hubby had to leave to take my daughter to dance. Tuesday’s she dances in the evening, only one class, from 7:00-8:00. It’s a bit of a pain!! My daughter and I watched The Brave. It was a good episode. Very edge of your seat…action!! My daughter took my son upstairs and got him into pjs and brushed his teeth. I put the drops into my dogs ear, sort of. It’s much worse than in the summer. I couldn’t find the opening to the ear canal very easily. It is filled with black goop. I hope I got some in there…I think I did. It was nasty. The inserting thing was covered in black yuck when I was done. I cleaned it really well and ran hot water over it. Yuck I say!! I went upstairs and my daughter read to my son while I got ready for bed. He fell asleep while she was reading…yay! Thanks love! It gave me a little break. Then I got into bed and wrote this! Huh. Long day. I wonder if all this boring plays by play of my day actually interests anyone. I like going through what I did and writing it down. It’s just so, I don’t know, uninteresting (is that even a word??) it’s not like I lead a fascinating life like a movie star or something. It’s just little old me going to No Frills…woohoo! Oh well. It is what it is I suppose. I’m going to head to bed now. Night All! 💤😴

Hubby’s Birthday 🎂!!

The kids were home today. They had the day off since Remembrance Day was on Saturday. The teachers still get a day of since it’s a stat holiday. Today is my hubby’s birthday. He turned 42. We got him an Oilers toque, a PS4 toolkit, a PS4 gift card, movie passes and some spicy beer nuts. We didn’t really do anything special today though. We wanted to go to a movie, but my daughter’s dance got in the way. After he opened his presents, he played video games with our son. While they were playing, I showered and got ready to go to Southgate. I didn’t really need to go there, but my younger daughter and her friends wanted a ride there. All of the other parents said no, so we were up! So, my oldest came with us and we drove to Southgate and split up with my daughter and her friends. My older daughter and I went to a few stores, Rocky Mountain Soap Factory, Saje, and Bath And Bodyworks. (A bit of a theme there!! lol) We will definitely smell good this Christmas! After Southgate, (My hubby was picking up our daughter and taking her to dance and the girls had a ride home with a different parent.) we drove to a CIBC, then Summerside to pick up a new winter jacket for my daughter, from a lady through buy and sell. It was only $20 and my daughter really needed one. From there we drove home. My hubby was close to leaving to pick up our daughter and get her to dance. We picked up my son and went to a lady’s house to buy a gift for my niece (her baby shower is on Friday), through VarageSale. Then we went to Sobeys and Shoppers. I have more than the maximum number of Shoppers points. So, we’re watching for the redeem double your points day, to get some Christmas shopping done. Instead of getting $170.00 of free stuff, I get double that, $340.00 of free stuff. Great deal eh!? We asked them for the date, but they don’t know it yet. They just know that it’s near the end of the month. I’ve already decided on a couple of things for my son in the toy section. After Shoppers we went home. Once home, I put the nummy smelling liquid hand soaps into the kitchen and bathrooms. Then I tried my new body spray – it smells scrumptious! I played a game with my son for a bit. Then my hubby got home. I started supper. We had Spanish rice with garlic toast. It was tasty! After supper, we watched The Wisdom Of The Crowd. It’s a new show about crowd sharing (I think that’s what it’s called!) and how using an online platform, similar to social media, helps solve crime. It’s very interesting and entertaining. I enjoy it. Afterwards, my hubby had to go pick up my daughter from dance. We gave my son a bath, watched one more show while he played with LEGO, then I took him upstairs for bed. Once he was in bed, I got myself ready and am now going to bed too!! That’s all…pretty darn boring Birthday… Night All! 💤😴
