Today is my son’s 8th Birthday!!! I can’t believe that he’s already 8 years old! I don’t know where the time went. It feels like yesterday when I was lying in bed at night reading and my water broke and the next morning I had a baby boy. I remember being so surprised and thrilled that we had a boy – our family is full of girls!! Well, now he’s 8!! Crazy stuff! I love him so and hope that he had a wonderful day!! We woke up at about 9:00, so that he could open his presents before our oldest went to work. He received a Nintendo Switch from us, which he has been wanting forever! He was so excited and surprised. He truly wasn’t expecting it, because we drilled into him that it was way too expensive. My hubby set it up with him and he played the games right away! He played on the Switch for a couple hours. Then we played Perudo (I think that’s how it’s spelled!) After that game we played another one for a bit. Then I made a late lunch. After eating, we got ready to leave and around 3:00 we drove to my parent’s house. We brought his Nintendo Switch because he wanted to show it to his grandparents. He showed them how you can use it as both a tablet, handheld game system or a game system hooked up to the tv. Afterwards he opened up a couple of presents from my parents. He got an outdoor magnetic lawn dart game, so we all went out back and set it up and played it for a while. It was absolutely beautiful outside today!! First we played with teams, then we took turns playing against my son. When we finished that, we went back inside and played spoons for a while. We stopped around 5:30 and we started to get supper together. My mom bought all of the stuff to make tacos, since she knows that my son really likes them and it’s his birthday. My daughter helped my mom, my son and dad started to make homemade ice cream and I helped my dad set the table and I chopped some tomatoes. My mom had already shredded the lettuce and chopped up some peppers. My oldest was off work at 6:00. Supper was ready at about 6:30, but she hadn’t arrived yet. We decided to start without her. We were just finishing and clearing the stuff that she wouldn’t want or need from the table, when she arrived. She ate supper and right when she was starting we all pulled out our phones and played HQ (my parents just listened and looked at our phones.) Tonight’s prize was $25,000.00. Also, tonight was different, because instead of having 12 questions and splitting the money between all of the winners, they were asking questions until it got down to one person who would win the full amount!! It came down to two people and on the very last question they both got it wrong!! So, no one won the $25,000.00. They said it would get carried over to the next game. He hinted that it may be tonight. We, of course, didn’t get that far. I think my hubby got the farthest, to question 6. It sounds like nothing, but the questions get difficult quickly!! The first two or three are usually easy, but then they get pretty tricky. They’re super random too, so you can’t really prepare. You either know it or you don’t, or occasionally you guess correctly. After HQ my daughter finished her supper and we just talked while she ate. Then my dad finished clearing the table and he brought out the cake and we sang Happy Birthday and my son blew out the candles. We had cake and mom, dad and I had coffee. When we finished, we went downstairs for a few minutes so that my son (and not very willing older daughter) could sing a song to show my mom that he learned all of the words! When they were finished, we got all of our stuff together and we drove home. I took the younger two with me in the van and my hubby drove the black car with my oldest. We got home and started getting my son ready for bed. I said goodnight and went downstairs to get on the treadmill and my hubby read to him. I was just starting to start the treadmill when my daughter called me and said that there was another HQ game. We went upstairs and my other daughter came too and we all went into my son’s bedroom. We played the game and my oldest got the farthest. They gave the $25,000.00 away, but this time they did the regular 12 questions and split the amount with all of the winners. When it was over, I went back downstairs and onto the treadmill for about 45 minutes. When I finished, I came upstairs and watched a couple short funny YouTube videos that my oldest and my hubby were watching. Then I went upstairs and got cleaned up and ready for bed. I sat on the bed and wrote this post. It’s longer then I intended. It’s now late and I’m going to hit the hay!
Night All! 💤😴
