Floating slowly through the night

I try to scream, I want to fight

Feeling lost and so alone

My cry for help comes out a moan

Wondering why I feel so scared 

My scarred heart feels so unprepared 

The darkness encloses like a wall

I wonder if I’m awake at all

The fear, this night it calls to me 

It haunts my soul, I cannot see

I lie in sweat from head to toe

Feeling like there’s something I’m supposed to know
