Bad Tummy.

I don’t have a lot to talk about today. This morning once the kids were at school I was sitting on the couch with my hubby. We had HGTV on, but I wasn’t feeling well and I was falling asleep again. I stayed there for a while, but my tummy just wasn’t happy and I still felt so tired. So around 10:45 I went back to bed. I fell asleep quite quickly. I actually slept for a long time. I woke up around 2:30. I wasn’t quite as tired, but my stomach was still really nauseous. I got up when the kids were home from school and tried to eat a bit. My hubby had to leave right away to drive my daughter to dance. I just sat in the living room for a while, because I just wasn’t feeling well. Our kitchen looked like a bomb went off, so my oldest daughter and I cleaned it up. Then I just made something simple for supper. We watched the Olympics while we ate. I didn’t really eat that much. We watched the Olympics until it was time for me to put my son to bed. I was ready for it, because I just wanted to lie down. My stupid stupid stomach. It felt better for a couple of days, then today it was really bad again. Weird. I’m going to bed now. Until tomorrow. Night All! 💤😴

A Very Tired Me!

This morning I had a hell of a time waking up!! I felt like I had to pry my eyes open. My son woke up super slowly as well. The tiredness didn’t really leave. Once the kids were at school, and my hubby and I were watching the Olympics I could hardly keep my eyes open. I kept drifting off and almost spilled my tea about a million times. The sleepiness just wouldn’t go away and I basically sat half asleep on the couch for hours!! My hubby tried a dozen times to get me awake enough to go lie down upstairs in the bed, but I was just so exhausted that I couldn’t get myself to get up and go to bed. Finally my daughter got me awake enough to eat a bit of lunch and get moving. We had to go to West Edmonton Mall to pick up a game for my son. He was using his own money for it, but they would only hold it for today. So, we (my oldest daughter and I) drove to the west end and picked it up. While we were in the mall, we went to a few different stores. We quickly popped into Rocky Mountain Soap Factory and I just bought a couple wonderful smelling chap sticks. Then we went to Hot Topic, it’s one of my daughter’s favourite stores it has all sorts of Harry Potter stuff and a lot of Supernatural things. It has some neat finds. After Hot Topic we went to Sephora, but they didn’t have the colour of lip gloss that my daughter was looking for. We then went into the music store that replaced HMV. I forget what it’s called. My daughter bought a Harry Potter cap and a Captain America hoodie. From there we went to Chapters. We looked at many books, but we settled on the Supernatural series (the ones based on the TV show). We each bought some. They were missing a few from the series, but we got most of them. The last store, that we practically ran through, we Bath And Body Works. I just bought some hand soap, because we needed some. From there we speed walked to the van and tried to drive home as fast as possible, but we ended up on the Henday during rush hour traffic. We ended up meeting my hubby at my daughter’s dance school and picking up my son from him. He was staying in the city while she danced and my son didn’t really want to. On the drive back home, I stopped at a Shoppers in the city and my daughter ran in and bought the gloves that match her Olympic scarf and toque. They didn’t have the correct colour of gloves in the Beaumont store. Once we were in Beaumont, I popped into Shoppers and bought a Mundare sausage. I quickly went to Rexall and dropped off my prescriptions from Dr Hauptman. Also, I went to Sobeys and grabbed a couple of things. Then, finally, we went back home. I cooked supper and we watched the Olympics while we ate. We continued watching them after supper. Of course, just when the gold medal women’s hockey game was about to begin, it was time to get my son ready for bed. I kind of wanted to watch the game, but I was also feeling quite tired and my tummy was bothering me. So, the idea of bed wasn’t a bad thing. I’m going to do just that!! Night All! 💤😴

Dr Hauptman

This morning my alarm didn’t go off. Well, it sort of did, somebody must’ve fiddled with it, because instead of being the radio station that I have it set to, it was just quiet static. Too quiet to wake me up, unfortunately. My younger daughter always comes in to our room at about 7:50-7:55, so instead of getting up when she came in, I just woke up when she came in. Needless to say, my son was a couple minutes late for school. We went to McDonald’s after dropping him off and bought a couple of the $1.00 coffees. We watched the Olympics when we got home, thankfully I got to see the beautiful Canadian ice dance routine that won gold last night. It was wonderful! They’re pretty amazing!! My hubby and I left around 12:00 for my 1:00 dr Hauptman appointment in St Albert. I told him about my face pain being bad again, even though it’s been okay the past couple of weeks (knock on wood). He gave me something new to try for break-through pain. On our way back home, we stopped at IKEA to look at handles and knobs for our newly painted kitchen cabinets. We found some handles that we liked. They were pretty affordable too! We decided to buy them, but we won’t be putting them on until my parents get home from BC. My dad has a special tool for putting them on, so that they’re straight. We will stick with the temporary screws that my dad put in for us. Once we got home, I wasn’t feeling great and I was super tired. So, I lied down on the bed for about an hour and a half. My son came upstairs and was on the bed beside me for some of that time. Then I had to get up to cook supper. I didn’t really sleep, but I did rest a bit. Making supper was slow for some reason tonight. So we didn’t eat until about 7:15. My hubby had to take my daughter to her dance at 7:30, and my oldest, my son and I watched Mulan while we ate. Once the movie was over, it was time to get my son into bed. Then I got ready for bed and now I’m going to bed. I’m feeling sleepy.

Night All! 💤😴

Bad Bad Stomach…

I was feeling worse today. My stomach was, or rather, is not good at all. I hate feeling like this. It’s yucky. Consequently, I didn’t do much today. When I got up, around 10:30 today, I went downstairs and did my usual tea while sitting on the couch thing. My son played his game again and I looked up some things for him. Just hints and stuff, for places where he was really stuck. He is just 7 and it’s not really created as a children’s game. Some parts are difficult – even for adults!! My younger daughter took my Jamaican braids out. She had to use scissors to cut out the tight, tiny elastics, before carefully undoing each braid. It didn’t hurt at all, unlike when the lady in Jamaica put them in!! She pulled the hair sooo tight it was crazy!! Once the braids were out, I helped my son a bit more, then I had a shower to get rid of the frizziness that the braids left behind. After the shower, my younger daughter and I made tacos for supper. Well, actually, she started when I was still in the shower and, once I was out, I helped her finish it off. After supper my hubby gave our son had a bath and I found him some clean pjs and then I did the dishes. Once he was out of the bath, he and I played a game that he made up and then we came upstairs and got ready for bed. I tried to be as fast as possible, because I just don’t feel that great. So, I think that I am going to head to bed now. Until tomorrow!! Night All! 💤😴

Yucky Tummy

This morning I didn’t sleep quite as late as I did yesterday. I woke up at about 9:45. I was still sleepy though, so I stayed in bed checking e-mails and other things on my phone. When I did get up, I did my usual tea while sitting on the couch for a bit. We had the olympics on for a while, then my son wanted to play his video game, Zelda Breath Of The Wild. We watched and helped him play for quite a while. The graphics are so incredible that it almost looks real. It also includes a lot of strategy and an interesting story line. We took a bit of time to take stock of what we had in our freezer and cupboards and then we made a meal plan and a grocery list. We really were pretty lazy today. Or rather, I was. My hubby wasn’t. He did some cleaning and then did the shopping as well. When he came home, we put the groceries away and I separated all of the big packs of meat. Then we decided to clean the Keurig with vinegar. My hubby ran a bunch of vinegar through it, the problem is that we must have loosened some of the crap in it, because now it seems to be clogged. Which is frustrating. My hubby is trying to fix it. It was hard to avoid, because it really needed cleaning. We had breakfast for supper tonight. I didn’t eat that much, because I haven’t been feeling well. Ever since Friday I haven’t been feeling well. I’ve had a crampy, sick tummy and I’ve had diarrhea. I really hope that it’s not something that I ate or drank in my last day or two in Jamaica. I wonder…I’ll probably never know. I just wish that it would stop. I haven’t really taken much for it, just some tummy medicine. After supper, we watched the movie Thor Ragnarok (if I spelled that right!). Once the movie was over, we turned the Olympics back on for a short while, then I went upstairs with my son. He’s sleeping now and I’m ready to do the same. Night All! 💤😴

A Sleepy Day

This morning I slept in quite late. My oldest daughter and I stayed up late last night watching the olympics. We had it paused for a while, so she could do the wii fit. Then we started it again to watch the end of the hockey game and some of the figure skating. By the time I wrote my post and got ready for bed, it was stupid late. When I got up, I saw that we needed to pick up our son from his sleepover. My hubby went and got him. I was still pretty sleepy. I just sat on the couch for a bit drinking tea and watching the olympics with my daughter. I briefly talked to my mom. Then I ate some food! Afterwards, I couldn’t shake my sleepiness and I half fell asleep on the couch. Then they woke me up, because I had to get ready to go to my parent’s house. We went around 4:00. We talked about our trip for a bit and gave my parents some rum and blue mountain coffee that we bought for them in Jamaica. Then we sat down to play the card game Five Crowns. It lasted until supper time. We had a delicious supper and after supper we showed my parents our pictures from Jamaica. Then we watched the video of us climbing the waterfall. After the video, we went home. I was still tired – I don’t know why I was so tired all day, other than going to bed so late last night. I just watched a bit more of the olympics, then I got my son and myself ready for bed. And, now I’m going to bed. Night All! 💤😴

Home Again, Home Again, Jiggity Jog!

I had to wake up early today because my younger daughter had a dr’s appointment. Her migraine headaches have gotten worse and the medication that the dr gave her hasn’t been working. Also, she has had a very persistent cough for too long now. The dr gave her an inhaler for her cough. She is making her an appointment with a neurologist, just to make sure that there are no underlying problems causing the headaches. She is also setting up a test to see if she has asthma. When we got home, my hubby and I went through the souvenirs that we bought in Jamaica for the kids and gave them the things that we bought for them. Afterwards, we all watched the video of my hubby and I climbing Dunn’s River Falls in Jamaica that we brought back with us. Following that, I talked to my mom and then I drove my daughter to school for a couple classes. I did a bit of laundry and got my son ready for a sleepover at his friend’s house. I just sat for a bit, because I was feeling pretty tired. By the time I got to sleep last night (and then waking up early) I only got about 5 hours of sleep. Not nearly enough!! Around 3:00, I picked up my daughter from school. She was going to watch Leaps And Bounds at Vic, because a bunch of her dance friends were performing in it. My hubby drove her to the city to meet her dance teacher, who was driving her and her own daughter to Vic. My son was picked up by his friend’s mom and then my oldest and I went to Sobeys to get something for supper and a few other things that we needed. We got home and my hubby cooked supper, because I was feeling so tired. We ate in the living room, since it was just the three of us. We watched the olympics while eating and ended up watching them for the remainder of the night. My hubby fell asleep on the couch for quite a while, he had good timing when he woke up. My daughter had just texted me to tell me that the show was over and they were about 20 minutes away from her teacher’s house, which is where we were picking her up. So he had to go. My daughter and I continued watching the men’s hockey game. It ended up tied after the 5 minute overtime. So it went to a shootout, with 5 shots per team. Spoiler Alert!! Sadly, we ended up losing by one shot. After the hockey, we watched Patrick Chan do his frew skate. When it was done, he ended up 6th. I’m not certain if that’s where he remained , we didn’t continue watching it after he skated. I began writing this, because I am sooooo tired. And, on that note, I’m going to head up to my bed and go to sleep. Night All! 💤😴

Flying Home!

This morning I woke up at about 9:30. We had to leave the villa around 11:45 to go to the airport. We spent the morning packing, which was not all that easy – because of all that we bought. We ended up having to use the lightweight travel backpack that I brought to use for our day trips. We fit everything in except for the sunblock that we brought. We left that behind. We won’t be needing any until the summer and we have a lot at home. When we got to the airport and they weighed my stuffed suitcase it was 51.5 lbs. it’s only supposed to weigh 50 lbs, but they let it go. We checked my hubby’s small carry-on suitcase, because he now had the backpack as a carry-on. We were a bit early, in anticipation of lines, but we got our bags checked and through security quite quickly. So we stopped at a restaurant in the airport, because we were both hungry and knew that we wouldn’t get a full meal for a long time. After eating we went to our gate. We only had to wait for about 20 minutes before they started boarding. Our first flight from Jamaica to Toronto was pretty smooth for the most part. There was only about 5 minutes of shakiness, which I hate!! It just freaks me out! I was gripping my hubby’s leg the whole 5 minutes. Lucky for him and his sunburnt leg that it was only 5 minutes!! I watched 2 movies on that flight using the WestJet connect app. I have a few movies downloaded on Netflix on my iPad, but for some reason Netflix wouldn’t work. I thought with downloaded movies that I didn’t need wifi, but maybe Netflix only works with wifi or internet, who knows. We arrived in Toronto on time. We were near the back of the plane and it took forever to get off the plane. We were concerned that we wouldn’t make our connecting flight. We had only an hour to go through customs, get our bags, re-check our bags, go through security, find a bathroom and get to our gate. We arrived at our gate with about 2 minutes to spare before boarding!! We quickly talked to our oldest daughter and then had to board the plane. During that flight I watched two more movies. It’s just a good way to kill time and it distracts me, so that I worry less about flying. We arrived at about 10:40pm. We decided to take a cab home. That way our daughter could stay home and not have to drive to pick us up and our younger daughter didn’t have to stay awake to watch her little brother. We are both feeling tired, because it was a long day and we are still on Jamaica time. It’s remarkable how quickly your body switches over to a new time (at least when it’s only a couple of hours difference). It’s now 3:10 in Jamaica time!!! I’m just beat! Our oldest was still awake when we got home. She came downstairs to see us. While we were talking in our newly painted bright white kitchen (I knew that my dad would paint while we were gone!! Thanks dad!!) I saw a little face peeking downstairs through the railing. Our little man woke up. He ran down and gave me a monster hug!! Our younger daughter was sleeping. We all talked for a bit, but it got late really fast. Our son was so tired that he said he’d go up and wait for me to come say goodnight. When I came upstairs, he was sleeping already. Well, I think that it’s time for me to do the same thing! I can’t wait to sleep in my own bed!! Night All! 💤😴

Jamaica Day 7 – Last Day ☹️

This morning I got up at about 9:30. We had planned on getting up earlier and to go rafting on the Martha Brae, however it was pouring rain, so my hubby didn’t wake me up. We decided to pass on the rafting and spend the day at the beach. It was much busier than when we were there the other day. A cruise ship was docked and there were a ton of people from the ship on the beach. It was still beautiful! It was a hot hot day. The water was warm, clear and a beautiful aqua colour. I read a lot of my book. We left around 5:30. Bill drove us back to the villa. We showered and then had Bill drive us to the restaurant called Pier 1. Apparently, on Valentines Day and Ash Wednesday (which is a holiday here), it’s a prime place to go..it was packed and we didn’t even think about making a reservation!! We had to wait for a table. The bar was full too, but after about 10 minutes a couple of bar stools came available. We had a couple drinks at the bar, then moved over to a table. We ordered a small appetizer and a I ordered Jerk Chicken pasta. My hubby tried the blackened chicken. It was good. Not great, but good. Because it took a while to get a table and then the food, we didn’t eat right away. When the food arrived, they started a lingerie fashion show. It was a little strange to be eating while girls wearing super skimpy lingerie were walking by. We finished our supper and realized that the place turns into a club as it gets later. The music got much louder and even more people came in. We decided to go back to the villa. When we got back I FaceTimed the kids. We talked to my oldest daughter and Son for a bit. Then said goodnight to them. I started writing this and my younger daughter got home from dance and called to say goodnight. I’m starting to fall asleep writing this…I need to go to bed. Tomorrow we fly home and it’s going to be a long day. I can’t believe that our week is finished. Time is weird.

Jamaica Day 6

This morning I slept until about 10:00. We planned on going to the beach in the afternoon, once our driver Bill got back from going to Lucea to get the van towed to the shop. After breakfast we decided to sit by the pool while we waited for Bill to get back. I got really into my book and lost track of time. We realized it was almost 3:00 and Bill wasn’t back yet. We didn’t really mind that much, as it’s not like sitting in the sun by the pool is a bad thing!! Lenteen felt super bad that the broken down vehicle “ruined” our day, but we were not overly disappointed. We ended up with a nice relaxing day by the pool. I can’t complain. We got quite a bit of sun. My chest got a little bit of a sun burn, and a little sliver on my shoulder did also, where I apparently missed putting sunblock. We had steak for supper tonight. It was good, but not as good as Alberta beef of course! After supper I had a shower and then my hubby and I sat in the living room and watched a bit of tv. I’m beat though. Being in the sun all day is draining. I can’t believe that tomorrow is our last day here and that we fly home on Thursday. Our week went by quickly. Part of me wishes we had more time here, but the other part is looking forward to seeing the kids. My hubby is snoring on the couch beside me. I’m probably going to wake him up and head to bed.
