A Very Full Day!

This morning was getting up early and going back to school again! My son actually woke up easily, which was a surprise. I’m used to practically shaking him awake! He’s a pretty heavy sleeper and is not at all easy to wake up, so it was a pleasant surprise! Once the kids were off to school, my hubby and I watched the season finale of The Good Doctor. It was a really good episode! I quite enjoy this show! Afterwards, I woke my oldest daughter up (obviously I guess, as she’s the only one not in school!!) I made some more tea, for her and I. My hubby called his health insurance company, as his old boss told him that it would be reinstated last week and it wasn’t. I can’t get any of my prescriptions and one is right out and two more are going to be done at the end of the week. They told him that it has been canceled since March 15th and if it’s to be reinstated, it’s going to take about two weeks! Which makes it useless as it’s actually supposed to be canceled in about 16 days. So we will have health coverage for a whole two days! So handy…grrr. So, he called his old boss anyway and they are starting the process. We’re only bothering with it because we just sent them a claim form for 3 pairs of glasses!! As long as they retroactively fix the dates, the glasses should be covered. I’m certain that they’ll mess it up somehow, as we’ve had nothing but trouble with this insurance company from the minute they changed over to them!! Because of this mess, I called the Non-group blue cross people to check on the state of my application. They, of course, had no record of an application! Argh!! They told me to phone Alberta Health. They also never received my application – that I mailed over one month ago!!!! SO DARN FRUSTRATING!!!! I explained our situation and the good news is, they can retroactively give us coverage from March 15th! So if the other company continues to piss around, we will have had continuous coverage! I immediately filled out the application, again and went to the public library and faxed it to Alberta Health and then I mailed the hard copy. I’m hoping that they are more on the ball than Industrial Alliance. For now, all I can do is wait… After leaving the library, I went to Shell and filled up the van. Then I went to Shoppers to grab a couple things. When I got home, my daughter was hungry, so I made her some grilled cheese sandwiches. I also ate. When I had finished, my hubby asked me to proof read his cover letter and resume. I did so and added the corrections for him. He doesn’t slow down when writing, he tries to go too quickly and, consequently, he misses a lot of little words. Then when he reads it through he isn’t focused on what he’s actually reading, he just adds the words in his head as he goes along and doesn’t realize that they’re missing. So, he always asks me to proof read his letters, etc. He went to get the kiddos from school while I was still working on his resume. When they got back I told him about a couple things that he needs to change, mainly writing full names of things, not acronyms. The rest I just went ahead and changed as I read it. My oldest and I quickly went to the bank and Sobeys. When we got back, I went on the treadmill for about 40 minutes. I quickly rinsed off when I was finished, then my younger daughter and I left. She had dance, but we left a bit early to go to Ardennes (I don’t know how to spell that correctly, it looks wrong!!) She needed some new jeans and something nice to wear to her interview coming up on Thursday. We bought her two pairs of jeans and a cute navy floral dress that she’s going to wear to her interview. Then I dropped her off at dance and I went to Winners to buy some night cream. I’ve been buying my lotion and such at Winners because it’s cheaper. I wandered around the store until it was time to pick her up. Once we were together, she was starving, so I decided to quickly grab her some crappy McD’s. When we got there, the drive through was closed, so she downloaded the app and ordered from the car. When she hit the finish and pay button it said, “Do not hit button again!!” So, even though it looked like it hadn’t gone through, we didn’t hit it again. We ended up waiting for too long for McD’s!! As we were about to go inside to talk to someone it suddenly said, “Problem with payment!” So, we hit the darn button again…and low and behold, it worked !! Meanwhile, we have waited longer than ever before at a McD’s!! We were just starting to rage – in the car to each other – when a girl finally brought us the food!!! What a gong show!!! Fortunately, we were goofing around and laughing and being a bit crazy, so by the time the stupid food was delivered, we were in tears of laughter!! It was actually a good moment for us. When things get unpredictable or annoying, sometimes you just gotta laugh! It feels good! Anyway, we finally drove home and when we came inside the first thing that my hubby asked was what took us so long! We both started laughing and tried to explain to him…he didn’t really appreciate, or rather, understand what in the world was so funny. I guess it was one of those had to be there moments!! Once home, my oldest showed me the progress she had made in her room. Then I got ready for bed. It’s late now and I’m going to bed because I’m beat! Night All! 💤😴

Last Day Of Kids Holidays

It’s late!! I’m super tired and we have to get up early tomorrow, as the kids are going back to school. Today I slept in. I stayed in bed after waking up, just to relax and enjoy my last lazy morning. You gotta do what you gotta do – right!? My hubby, son and oldest daughter came upstairs to talk to me. Then my hubby and son went back downstairs, but my daughter lied down beside me on the bed and played her game on the iPad. After a while my son came back upstairs to see when we were going to be downstairs. So we decided to get moving and went downstairs. We had some tea and something to eat. Then we all sat on the couch for a bit, somewhat ignoring each other – lol. We were all on our various devices, sitting beside each other for quite some time! Then my younger daughter came home from being with her friends. It spurred me somewhat into action. I figured out what to have for supper and took out some frozen chicken. Then my oldest and I got dressed and went to Dollarama, Home Hardware and Sobeys. Once we got home, we put the groceries away and then we started supper. I finished defrosting the chicken and then cut each chicken breast in half and marinated them. We heated up the mini potatoes in the microwave, so that they wouldn’t take too long on the BBQ. My daughter peeled carrots and got some other fresh veggies together in a bowl. When everything was ready, my hubby BBQ’d the chicken and potatoes. It was a good meal. After supper, my daughter found an email from David’s Tea. They offered her a job, part time I believe, as a tea guide (I think that is what they called it!!) Now she’s just waiting for the pj store (I forget the actual name) to get back to her. The Body Shop and now David’s Tea have both offered her part time. She could do both positions to have full time hours. She was hoping for a full time position though, so she’s waiting to see what the last place has to say. Hopefully they contact her soon. After supper, I went downstairs and walked on the treadmill for 55 minutes. My hubby went to a friend’s house, so, while I was on the treadmill, my oldest daughter put my son to bed. I was worried that he would fall asleep late, after all of the time he has been off of school, but he went to sleep easily for her. Once I got off the treadmill, I had a nice long shower and then I got ready for bed. I’m beat though. So I’m off to bed! Night All! 💤😴

Happy Easter!!

This morning we only slept until about 10:15-10:30. Which is not bad, considering the sleeping in I’ve done the past few days. My son actually woke me up at that time. I had expected him to wake up sooner, excited to see if the Easter bunny had come, but he woke up about 5 times throughout the night!! So when he finally fell asleep the last time, he actually stayed asleep for a few hours. We went downstairs with my younger daughter and my oldest and hubby were already there. The kids hunted for Easter eggs and their Easter baskets. My hubby even hid some for our oldest, but he made them pretty difficult!! Once they were finished the searching, they checked out their baskets and then my son played with some of his new toys, while the rest of us cleaned up the main floor. Once we were done cleaning, the girls and I went to Sobeys and picked up whatever we needed for supper tonight. We also stopped at the liquor store quickly too. When we got home my oldest made us strawberry daiquiris. She made a couple without alcohol and then she made her and I some with rum. I briefly talked to my mom. Then I got the ham in the oven. My younger daughter was making homemade rolls. So she got started on those and I stayed in the kitchen with her, I helped her a little bit, but she did most of it on her own. Part way through the roll process, I got started on the scalloped potatoes and got them cooking. I also cooked a small amount without the sauce, because my younger daughter and my son aren’t fans of scalloped potatoes. When the dough had risen enough we put the rolls in the oven too. I don’t think that my oven has ever been so full!! During the last 30 minutes my oldest made her glazed carrots. When the carrots were finished I called my hubby in to cut the ham. Then we sat down and had a tasty Easter dinner!! We had dessert, but we were all too full. After we cleaned up the table, we played dance charades. My hubby read the words for our son and, went in the kitchen to do dishes when it wasn’t his turn. We played for a bit. It was fun. Then it started to get late. My daughter and son danced around the living room together for a few songs. They were being silly and having fun. It’s nice when they all get along! Refreshing actually!! While they were dancing, my oldest showed me her new game on the iPad. Then I took my son upstairs to bed and I got ready for bed too. I’m feeling super nauseous tonight, I’m not sure why. I hope it’s going away! I’m going to go to bed now. Night All! 💤😴

The Laziest Day Ever!!

Today was the laziest day ever !! Wow! I slept in super late and then I stayed in bed forever!! I was on my phone and just thinking about things and time just kept flying by. Finally my hubby and kids came into the bedroom to see if I planned on waking up at all today- lol! It was relaxing and nice. When I got up, I went downstairs and had some tea and food. I did a couple things that needed to get done. I talked to my mom on the phone. Then I had to get ready to drive my daughter to dance to work on her solo. She’s doing the Snap Chat Easter egg hunt. There are random eggs along the Snap Map, which is just a basic map that shows you where you are. As you drive (or walk) along there are eggs you can tap on to collect. Her dance was only for a half hour, so I just waited in the van out front. We drove a different way home, so that she could collect different eggs. By the time we got to Beaumont she had a lot of eggs. More than all of her friends. She was really happy. We picked up a couple things from Sobeys and drove home. We had a quick supper, the kids and I, my hubby was visiting his brother. After supper, we went into the kitchen and decorated our Easter eggs. It took us quite a long time. We went pretty late. We weren’t finished yet when my hubby got home. Finally we finished and my oldest got my son ready for bed and read Harry Potter to him, while my younger daughter and I cleaned up all of our decorating stuff. Then she went to bed and my hubby and I quickly hid the Easter stuff for the kids, then I came upstairs and got ready for bed. Now I’m going to go to bed. It’s late and I’m exhausted! Knowing the kids, they will be excited and wake up early!! Night All! 💤😴

A Strangely Busy Day

I slept in late today! It was really nice. When I woke up, I stayed in bed for a while. My daughter came in to the bedroom and climbed into the bed beside me. We visited for quite a while, then my hubby came upstairs to see what we were doing. I got up after he left, I could hear him in the hallway arguing with my daughter about what was and was not okay to throw out. His way of “cleaning” is to throw everything away!! It doesn’t usually go over well. So, we all stayed in the hallway for a bit and cleaned it together. Then I went downstairs and had tea and something to eat. After eating, I called the aquafit centre and booked my son’s swimming lessons that start next week. I kept meaning to enroll him and would miss the deadline. Also, with the number of days my daughter dances it’s difficult to find a time to fit his swimming lessons in. However, that isn’t fair to him. So, he’s going to be swimming on Saturday from 12:30-1:15. We were going to enroll him for an earlier time, but it was booked. On the days that my daughter has competitions, my hubby will just have to take our son to swimming lessons. My hubby brought a ton of laundry downstairs to be washed today. So, after booking the swimming, my oldest daughter and I went downstairs and sorted it all. We are super behind in the laundry department!!! It took a long time to sort it. After sorting it, both of my girls and I went to Sobeys to pick up some groceries and I popped into a liquor store to pick up a bottle of wine and some rum. Then we drove back home. We put the groceries away, hung up the wet laundry, threw in a new load and then my hubby started making breakfast for supper. My younger daughter cooked some bacon and my hubby did French toast, and eggs. I cut up some pineapple and cantaloupe. My oldest daughter set the table. We had supper and visited at the table for a bit afterwards. Then I went upstairs and put shorts and a tank top on and went downstairs and on the treadmill for 45 minutes. Then, after getting cleaned up, I sat on the couch and wrote this post. Now I have to put my son to bed and get myself to sleep too. So I’m going to go for the night. Until tomorrow! Night All! 💤😴

Learners

This morning I was able to sleep in. It was really nice!! When I did wake up, I stayed in bed for a while. I talked to my mom and just stayed there relaxing. When I got up, I finished all of my psychologist registration stuff, with both CAP (The College Of Alberta Psychologists), aa well as the PAA (Psychologists Association Of Alberta). Afterwards I had something to eat. Then my daughter and I went to the Beaumont Registry office so that she could take her learners exam. When we arrived it was packed. It was already 3:45 and there was a sign that said that all testing ends for the day at 4:00. We knew that we wouldn’t even make the front of the line by then. So we left. We decided to go to Millwoods Registry. Before leaving town, we stopped at The Vision Gallery to pick up my new glasses. I really like them. When we got to the Millwoods Registry office my daughter really had to go to the bathroom. We went inside to see if they had a bathroom, but they didn’t. The place was packed, again! Also, almost everyone looked grumpy! It was not a pleasant atmosphere at all!! We left and went into Millwoods Town Centre to use the bathroom. From there we went to yet another Registry office!! This one was on 91st. We arrived and the atmosphere was a million times better then the last place. We immediately went up to the counter and talked to the lady. There was a problem though… we hadn’t brought my daughter’s birth certificate or passport to prove that she was who we said she was!! What a pain in the butt!! I had totally blanked on the whole bring identification thing!! Argh! So, we drove all the way home and got her birth certificate, then we drove back!! All the time while we were driving, my daughter was doing practice exams on the AMA website. We only had to wait for two people. We paid the guy and they started a file for my daughter and then she sat down to take the test, finally!! I sat in the waiting area to wait for her. She only took about 5 minutes and quickly passed! She said it was easy. Before we left she had taken 6 or 7 practice tests and then she took more while we were driving all over the place!! She said that most of the questions she had already seen today. She only missed 2 questions!! So I paid for her learners and they did the quick eye exam and took her picture. Woohoo!! I’m looking forward to the day that she can drive herself to dance!! We went home then. She quickly had supper, then went to her friend’s house. I had supper and then I did some stuff on my phone. Afterwards, I walked on the treadmill for 45 minutes. Afterwards I rinsed off and then got my son ready for bed and then myself! Now I’m going to go to sleep! I’m tired and cold. Night All! 💤😴

Not Full Time!!

I got up early again and drove to West Edmonton Mall with my oldest daughter. She had orientation at Forever 21 at 10:00. Once she went into the store, I went upstairs to wait for her at the Starbucks. We brought a book with me and planned to read and sip my coffee while waiting. She came up much earlier than expected. She has gone because at the job fair the lady from Forever 21 had offered her a full time position. When she was reading over the papers she saw that it said it was for a part time position. She spoke to the lady about it and told her that she was really looking for part time. She thanked her for the opportunity and the lady said that she will keep in touch and will definitely contact her if a full time position becomes available. So we wandered through the mall for a while. We went to the London Drugs, then the book store, to Bath And Body Works, then to the Body Shop, to La Senza, to Saje and finally to the Hot Topic. I think I made my hubby happy, because I didn’t spend much money! I got a t-shirt at Hot Topic and that’s about it. After Hot Topic we drove back to Beaumont, we stopped at Sobeys and picked up something for supper, then went home. I had promised my son that when I got home, I would play with him. We played a few different games with a ball for about 2.5 hours!! I stopped when it was time for me to start getting supper ready. I made chicken salad. We ate supper and stayed in the kitchen talking. My hubby and son went into the living room while the three of us kept talking. My younger daughter got out the flash cards that I bought to use for studying for your learners exam. My younger daughter is going to take her learners test tomorrow. My oldest daughter read each question out loud and my other daughter answered the question as best as she could. We were laughing and being silly and we did get through all of the cards, but it ended up being a lot of fun. It took us a while though ! By the time we were finished, it was 11:00. So we went upstairs and got ready for bed. My oldest read to my son (they’re reading the first Harry Potter together), while I got ready for bed. He fell asleep while she was reading. I went to bed and wrote this. It’s late now though…I’m going to bed now. Night All! 💤😴

Interviews!!

I had to wake up at 8:00 this morning. My oldest daughter had an interview at 9:30 at the South Common Guess store. She asked me if I would go with her. So I drove to South Common at around 9:00. The interview went for about a half hour. I just waited for her in the van. When she was finished, we went to the Indigo Chapters and got a coffee at the Starbucks. We looked around the bookstore for a bit, then we came home. We had something to eat and I started doing my psychology registration. She had to go to a different interview at 2:00, at the Windermere Starbucks. I drove to Windermere and we got there about 15 minutes early. The snow was coming down like crazy, so we had given ourselves extra time to get there, so we wouldn’t be late. We went in together, since we were so early, but my daughter saw that they were already there, so I got a small drink and sat down at a table not too close to them. This interview was to work at a pyjama store, I can’t recall the name of it. The interview took about 20 minutes. When she was finished, we drove around checking out the stores trying to find the pj store located in Windermere. They pay more than minimum wage and my daughter would like this job. Once we found the store, we drove back home, thankfully the crazy snowfall had stopped. My daughter left again right away, because she had plans with her best friend. I was waiting for an email regarding my practice insurance that didn’t arrive. I couldn’t finish my registration without it. I also got all of the glasses receipts and medication receipts together and mailed them away with a claim form. I then went to lie down for a couple hours, I was feeling tired and sick. I slept for about 2.5 hours. When I got up, I went downstairs and got supper ready. We made mini individual pizzas. I got everything cut and ready, then everyone made their own. After our supper, I went on the treadmill for 50 minutes. When I was finished, I had a hot shower. Then it was bedtime. My daughter read a chapter of the first Harry Potter book to my son, then they both fell asleep. I got ready for bed, then woke her up so that she could get to bed in her own room. Once she got up, I sat down in bed and wrote this. I’m still feeling sick. It’s probably going to take a few days for these pills to start working. I just can’t wait to not feel nauseous!! It’s going to be a relief. For now, I’ll just get to sleep.

Night All! 💤😴

Protozoa

I had my dr’s appointment this morning at 10:40. I woke up at 10:00 and got dressed and ready to go. The dr was a guy whom I had never met before. The dr that I saw before and who ordered the lab test was on holidays. He came into the office and didn’t know why I was called in. I told him that it was because I was called in to review my lab test results. He had them printed and reviewed them quickly. He said that there are a couple types of Protozoa growing inside of my tummy. One of them in particular can cause nausea, vomiting and diarrhea. He gave me an antibiotic that I had never heard of. I have to take 2 pills a day for 10 days. This should kill them off and get rid of the symptoms!! Hooray! This never happens to me! Usually I’m told that they don’t know what is wrong or I’m told nothing is wrong!! I was relieved that they found something and that it can be treated!! It makes me feel like I wasn’t losing my mind!! After the appointment I took my prescription to Rexall. I dropped it off and came home. I did a few things at home, including feeding my son and talking to my mom and then I drove back to the pharmacy and picked up my prescriptions. When I got back home I wanted to lie down, I was feeling wiped after the four days at the dance competition. My daughter is still sick and exhausted today. I bet that the teachers are done in too!! I came upstairs to lie down, but my son followed me upstairs. I was gone for almost 4 days and he missed me. We ended up playing an escape game on the iPad together. Then my oldest came up with a bunch of clothes to try on. She went to a job fair on the weekend for the new outlet mall that’s opening up by the airport. She has a bunch of interviews this week and wanted my help to decide what she should wear. So we went through a bunch of outfits. She definitely needs to go shopping for some more work-type clothes, depending on where she ends up working. Afterwards, my son decided that the game we were playing was too hard (we continued playing while she tried clothes on), so he went downstairs to see what my hubby was doing. My daughter climbed into bed beside me and we went through my contacts on my phone, updating them. Then I deleted any app that I no longer used. We opened up one of my word games and started playing it. We got really into it and ended up playing until it was time to get ready for supper!!! Hee Hee!! We went downstairs and helped my hubby get ready for supper, he bbq’d pork and potatoes. I didn’t really end up helping all that much! My tummy was really bothering me and he does most of the bbq’ing. After supper, once we cleared the table and loaded the dishes into the dishwasher, I decided to try to ignore my tummy and go on the treadmill. I got my shorts and tank on and went on the treadmill for 45 minutes. After a quick rinse, I went back downstairs and played a made up game with my son. We actually played until about 10:00!! Then we came upstairs and got ready for bed. Once he was asleep, I sat up in bed and tried to write a quick post, because my tummy is bad right now!! I’m going to head to bed. Night All! 💤😴

The Great Canadian Dance Challenge Day 4!!

Last night my daughter was awake for most of the night coughing! It was quite bad, almost non-stop. I felt so bad for her. I tried to help her, giving her cough suppressant and a hot cloth to put on her chest. However, nothing helped! She just kept coughing and coughing! So, this morning when we were finally both asleep, we didn’t really want to get up when the alarm went off. We snoozed it a few times, then we were finally semi/awake by about 9:45. Breakfast was ending at 10:00. We decided we would get food when we checked out of the hotel. We got ready and left the hotel around 11:25. The problem was that she had to be back stage by 11:30. So, she ended up not eating anything before her first dance!! Maybe we should have gone to breakfast after all!! I met my mom and dad in the lobby. We went into the theatre and watched the category before my daughter’s. Her dance was Mamma Mia, which is an extra large group variety number, it includes 3 different ABBA songs from the movie (or musical). They did really well! They received a high-gold and first place in their category. We found out later that they scored .1 away from a diamond! Crazy close! There wasn’t enough time for her to eat before she had to be ready in rehearsal hall for ballet. My parents and I went to the DQ, where my dad got a coffee, my mom had a small, dipped cone and I got a bottle of water. After they finished, we went back into the theatre and watched the category before my daughter’s. Then we watched her category, it was her ballet dance. They received a gold. Afterwards, we met my daughter in the lobby where we said goodbye to my parents and we drove to Wendy’s to get food. We went through the drive through and drove back to the Dow theatre, where we ate in the van. When we finished eating, we came back inside and we watched a category together, along with my daughter’s friend. It had a few of their other friends in it. Then they went to get ready for the dance off. My daughter’s jazz dance made it into tonight’s final dance off. The routines with the highest scores (the top four for each adjudicator, plus one wild card each, up until noon today. Then any additional number from this afternoon that received a high enough, score would be added.) I was hoping that they wouldn’t add too many more, because I was ready to go home after her ballet!! I’m beat!! There ended up being 14 dances in the dance off. They danced quite well and there certainly was stiff competition!! They didn’t end up placing in the dance off, but they did well and had fun!!Afterwards, I got my daughter something to eat and then we had to drive home. I was feeling pretty tired – still am!!When we got home I was definitely ready for bed. My daughter fell into bed super quickly!! My darn tummy is feeling sick and it doesn’t help much that we didn’t get a lot of sleep last night!! I’m glad that I see the dr finally tomorrow for my tummy. I finally get to see if they found anything in my lab test. I’m hoping that there’s an explanation for this dumb tummy of mine!! For now I’m going to go to bed!! I’m beyond exhausted!
