Today was another day just like the last

They roll together, moving so fast

I’m searching for meaning, looking for more

Not just a repeat of what came before

Some kind of spark, a sign from above

Something that’s new, something to love

Maybe it’s there, hiding in plain sight

Maybe I’ll see it, if I look just right

A hint of something precious and rare

A glimpse of what’s been hiding in there

Can I find what’s special within the mundane

Will I see what’s perfect hiding within the plain

The experience of love, the moments of peace

The nuggets of joy, when a bubble of laughter’s released

The rush of pride when it overwhelms us

The simple things over which I don’t fuss

If I take the time to look within the everyday

Will I find what I’m searching for in every way

Has it been right in front of me all this time

Is there hiding in the day to day, something sublime

The joy, the laughs, the smiles, the love

These moments perhaps full of meaning from above

I need to take the time to be grateful for these days

Filled with hidden purpose in so many ways

It’s the day to day that gets ignored

It’s the day to day that fulfills my world

I need to be present, in the moment aware

The most important things are the times that we share
