Yay girls!! What a looong day, but an awesome one – a platinum day! Not one, not two, but three platinums at today’s competition (day two of Standing Ovation dance competition!) My daughter had three dances today, ballet, production and jazz and they were awarded platinum in all three!! Yay yay yay! They did awesome!! I’m so proud of her – of all of them. (There is actually a boy in their class and he did well too, I’m just accustomed to saying yay girls!) I can’t believe how well they did! Hard work pays off, I guess! All those practices. The hairspray production was awesome! So much fun to watch! I’m so glad we went to a dance school where she gets the opportunity to participate in a production!! It’s so entertaining to watch and it really looks like they have fun while dancing in it. Actually, my daughter said that she had so much fun doing it. Which is great. Seeing her have such a great weekend makes you see why you dedicate so much time and money into dance. It’s just such a positive experience for them. Just because it breaks the bank doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s bad, right?! So all that remains in this competition (unless she got into tomorrow’s finals with her jazz dance, we don’t know yet) is her solo on Monday. She is sooooooo nervous. It makes me feel equally anxious! She keeps talking about getting a silver or lower. I think she’s going to do fine. She’s never performed a solo before, so of course she’s nervous! Who wouldn’t be?? Some of her friends are in the same category, which means, to her, that she’s competing against them. This is only adding to her anxiety. I’m not sure what to say to calm her down and make her relax. Nothing I say helps. Hopefully after doing it once, it will get easier. I guess we’ll see!! I’m beat and my hubby and I are supposed to be going to a wedding tomorrow. My son is going to a birthday party and if my daughter’s in the finals…well… tomorrow will get crazy!! Until then! Night all! 💤😴
