Bad news hits hard!

Like a punch in the gut!

Leaves you stuttering,

Questions, like w-what?

Out of the blue, 

Words you don’t want to hear:

No, not her!

Not one so dear!

Fear roils inside,

Leaving you queasy. 

What ever happened, 

To when life was easy?

Too many questions,

The most important being why?

Why her? Why now?

Is it all a lie?

No answers come,

Just quiet and the unknown.

Leaves me feeling sick,

And quite alone…
