Drifting aimlessly through a wellspring of tears
She hopes she’s confronted the last of her fears
Wordlessly she wanders without intent
No forward motion without his consent
Rounding corners her own fickle way
She smacks face to face with another day
Dreading the one when it’s all too much
She’s unsure when they’ll ever be able to touch
Desiring him always in every way alive
His mind and laughter his will and his drive
Alone she doesn’t function half as well
But he’ll never know if she’ll never tell
So carelessly he reacts to her quiet
In a way which causes her heart to riot
If only he knew what was truly in her heart
Perhaps it’d stop things from falling apart
