A Play Day!

Today I can easily write a fairly short post, because I pretty much did the same thing all day! I played with my son. He stayed home from school again today. So we hung out all day. We started with games on the phone and iPad. Then we had lunch (we kind of played through breakfast!) After we ate and played the afternoon HQ, I was falling asleep on the couch for a while, then he woke me up. Once I was a bit more alert we played a couple board games, Disney’s Scene It and Clue. It’s the first time that he played Clue. I was afraid that it would be too difficult for him, but he did fine! Afterwards we had a little snack and then we went out to the back yard and played catch for a while, we tried volleying the ball back and forth (we weren’t very good at it!!) and we played soccer. Then we got his toy golfing set and we used the small green compost bin as our “hole”. We started at the same place every time, but moved the “hole” around to different places in the yard. The toughest shot was when my son put the little bin up and onto his swing and we had to hit it upwards to get it in!! That “hole” took us forever! My hubby and daughter got back from dance just as we were finishing that “hole”. They came in just in time to play HQ, right at 7:00!! Afterwards, we went back outside and did one more “hole” (I’m not sure why I keep putting that in quotations – lol!) Then we went inside and I helped get supper ready and the kitchen cleaned up. My hubby BBQ’d burgers and we made fries in our air fryer. We ran out of propane before the burgers were cooked, so we finished them on the grill pan in the kitchen. After we ate supper and cleared the table and stuff, we went upstairs. It was pretty late by then. We went into my son’s room to see how the new mattress was doing. It arrived today and my hubby put it on the bed. The package said that it will expand once it hits the air over the next 48 hours. I didn’t climb up to try it out, but my son said it’s comfortable. My hubby came upstairs to put our son to bed and I got shorts on and went downstairs and walked on the treadmill for about 55 minutes. My oldest daughter came home from work while I was still on the treadmill. She came downstairs and started freaking out at the bottom of the stairs because of a spider!! I had to pause the treadmill and kill the spider for her!! Silly girl! Once I finished walking I went upstairs and watched a sin video on YouTube with my daughter and hubby, then I got cleaned up and ready for bed. I climbed into bed and wrote this post. Now I’m going to go to sleep as I am really tired. Night All! 💤😴

Grand Opening!!

This morning I woke up early. My daughter and I wanted to leave by 8:30. We went to the new outlet mall for the grand opening. The first 1000 people there received a free $50 gift card for the mall. Unfortunately we just missed the first 1000☹️ We were super close too! We were probably about 20-30 people passed. Too bad. We decided to walk to one of the other entrances. The line up for the first 1000 was super long. We walked around the mall to a different entrance and were much closer to the front. The doors opened at 10:00, so we had a while to wait. Some people brought chairs! We didn’t though. It was a little chilly out, but not too bad. When we finally got inside we first went to H&M. It had a real DJ set up and the music was ridiculously loud! It was pretty busy. There was a deal for the first 300 people, but they didn’t say much about it when we got there. The prices were pretty reasonable. I bought a couple things from the sale rack and my daughter bought herself a couple hoodies. The line up for the dressing rooms and to check out were extremely long! We didn’t try on the things we bought, we just lined up to buy them. A lady gave me a $10 off of anything regular priced over $50 coupon. She saw me in the line and she didn’t want to bother lining up. So, my daughter used it for her purchase, because my items were not regular priced items. We lined up for a good 20 minutes to check out. Which was not bad, when we were leaving the store the line had practically doubled in size and went out of the store!! We went to my daughter’s David’s Tea store next. She gets 50% off anything regularly priced in the store. I bought an iced tea pitcher and a travel tea mug for loose leaf tea. I had to sneak her my Visa card, because they are only supposed to use their own cards for their discount!! We also each bought an iced tea to drink, she had a lemon one and I had one called pink lemonade and it was super tasty. It didn’t even need any sweetener which is nice and healthy! We checked out the Forever 21, but didn’t buy anything there. She had to work at 12:30, so after going in a few other places I bought her lunch in the food court. After we ate she had to go start her shift. I was on the way out, but I first went into a store called Urban Kids. They had 40% off of everything in the store. I bought my son a couple t-shirts and some sweatpants. The pants said $24.99, which is pretty high for kids pants, but I figured that with 40% off it wasn’t too bad. When I got to the till the lady told me that she was going to ring them in at $10, instead of just 40% off. I certainly didn’t complain!! When I finished there I went back out to the van to navigate the confusing, blocked off streets around the mall in order to drive home. They had people and police everywhere directing traffic, it was a bit crazy!! When I got home, I showed my son the clothes that I bought him, he stayed home from school today, because his cold got worse and he was hacking away and not feeling well. We went upstairs and lied down on my bed together playing games, me on my phone and him on the iPad. We first played a couple easy games, but then we downloaded a new Avengers game and played it together for quite a while. The problem was that the game had a ton of downloadable content and the iPad didn’t have the space on it!! We played a silly game with his stuffed animals whenever his iPad was taking forever to download stuff, which was fairly often!! My hubby and daughter went to the city for her dance. We stopped playing our game for supper and then continued playing it until about 8:10. Then we had to hop into the van and drive back to the outlet mall to pick up my daughter from work. Tomorrow she’s going to drive herself, but they have to park in the Jetset parking lot and get shuttled to the mall. When I got to the mall a bunch of different roads were blocked off and there were annoying barricades throughout the parking lot which made it difficult to maneuver and made it take forever to get to the exit that she was waiting at and to get out of there to head back home. Pain in the butt!! We got home by about 9:00-9:10. I then got my son ready for bed and then I sat beside him while he slept in my bed to write this. His mattress comes Friday and then we will see what he thinks about sleeping so high up in his own room!! It’s going to make it difficult to read to him and sing to him. Hmmm… I guess that we will figure something out. I’m going to quickly get ready for bed and then crash. I’m feeling tired and the back of my throat hurts. I’m hoping that it goes away. I was really nauseous again today. That I’m feeling pretty tired of!! I just don’t want to always talk about it and be a downer. I have to call dr May’s office tomorrow. I forgot to do it today. I’m going to go now. Until tomorrow 😘 Night All! 💤😴

New Bed!

This morning we got out of bed at a much better time then yesterday. We quickly printed a few Birthday invitations for my son’s birthday party coming up this weekend. I meant to do it Sunday so that he could give them to his friends on Monday, but I completely forgot!! I wanted to get it done today before he left for school, so that he could bring them with him today and hand them out. I was worried about giving people enough notice. Once my hubby dropped him off we went to Leduc and met a lady that I was buying a Spider-Man comforter, sheets, curtains, garbage can and toy box from. My son’s old bed was a toddler bed, so we didn’t have the correct sized blankets for his new bed. He just loves Spider-Man and the lady I bought them from (I found it on the marketplace on Facebook) told me that they were practically new and hardly used. They do look like they are in excellent condition. I’m obviously going to wash them before putting them on his new bed. The mattress is supposed to be delivered on Friday. So I have time to wash them. We drove back home after picking them up and had breakfast. Then my hubby, my oldest daughter and I went to the city to our friends Carol’s house. She had a bike that she thought may work for my daughter. So we went there and my daughter tried out the bike. She liked it, so my hubby loaded it into the van. We visited with Carol for a bit. Then we drove to St Albert for my Dr Hauptman appointment. He was thrilled that I’ve been walking on the treadmill so much. He’s been asking me to start walking for a few years now. He thinks that it’s fine that I went off of the antidepressant. He just wishes that I would have weaned off of them and not stopped them cold turkey. He said that I would definitely go through withdrawal by stopping them like that! So I was right about that! I still feel a tad nauseous and I gag at even the smallest funny smell and when brushing my teeth. It’s frustrating. I didn’t talk to him about it though, as he’s my chronic pain dr. I’m going to see my regular dr and talk to her about it. He was thrilled with how little pain I’ve been having. He said that with TN and fibromyalgia he rarely sees people who have days with no pain. We decided to decrease my Suboxone from 3 of the 8mg tabs a day to 2 a day. He’s hopeful that I won’t notice a big difference. I’m happy to decrease my meds. If I don’t need them or if I need less then I will definitely try that. It’s better than taking more than I need! After we saw him my daughter and I were starving! My momma called right when we were looking for a place to eat. We stopped and ate quickly, then we drove back to Beaumont. In town we stopped at the Aquafit Centre because I needed to sign a form saying that I understood the rules regarding using the pool and party room for a birthday party. I asked my hubby to sign it on the weekend when he was there with my son for his swimming lessons, but he forgot to. We went home after that. We were only there for about 10 minutes before I had to run out to pick up the kids from school. We got back home and my son wasn’t feeling well, he’s caught a little bit of a cold. He’s coughing and sneezing and has a runny nose. I hope that it doesn’t turn into anything bigger since his birthday is this weekend. My hubby left to go pick up the new bed for my son. My son wanted to lie down and go on the iPad. First my oldest daughter, my son and I got some laundry going and then we went upstairs. They climbed into my bed. He was on the iPad and she was reading a book. I went downstairs and walked on the treadmill for about 50 minutes. When I was finished I got cleaned up and then I got supper going. I realized that I didn’t really have a lot of time. I had to leave to drive my daughter to dance. I just made grilled cheese for supper, because that’s what the kids wanted! My hubby got back while I was cooking. He spent a couple hours with the husband of the woman we were buying the bed from taking it all apart! He needed help unloading the parts of the bed. My kids all went outside to help him. My son came running in 2 minutes later crying with blood dripping down his leg. He fell onto one of the pieces of the bed frame. I burned a sandwich while trying to clean him up and put a couple bandaids on his leg. My daughter came in and quickly ate her sandwich and I made one for myself. They got everything unloaded onto the front lawn. We had to leave, so my oldest finished the sandwiches, I had them all prepared, they just needed to be grilled. We took the van, since they just unloaded it in time. We drove to the city. My daughter only dances for an hour Tuesday’s, so I just sat in the car in the parking lot. It wasn’t exactly a difficult dance class…a few of them were missing, so they sat around and talked for a bit, then they came outside and my daughter asked me for money. They piled into one of her dance friend’s car and the teacher’s car and drove to get something to drink. They got back to the studio at about 9:10. What an exerting dance class!!She went into the studio and got her things and we drove home. When we got home my oldest was putting my son to bed in my bed and my hubby was in our son’s bedroom assembling the new bed. Some of the parts were still in the front yard and in the main entryway. I helped him put the rest of the bed together. It took until about 11:30-11:45. It’s much bigger then I thought it would be. It almost takes up half of his room!! I took a photo of the finished product!!

It’s very sturdy. It says that the max weight is 250 Lbs, but it feels very strong!! My oldest used to have the old metal IKEA loft bed that was super high up (she would hit her head if she sat all the way up in bed!!) It used to creak and shake. It never felt that sturdy to me!! This one feels very strong!! There are stairs on the one end and each stair is actually a drawer. Then there is the little closet and the full sized desk with drawers and shelves. It has a lot of storage, which is great because we’re going to have to get rid of some of the furniture that we used to have in his room for storage!! We won’t have the mattress until Friday, so he won’t be able to sleep on it until the weekend. I’m sure he’s going to get to lot of use out of it. He was pretty excited to get rid of his tiny bed. After all, he is turning 8 this weekend! Definitely too old for his little toddler bed!! We just need to go through everything he has and organize it and get rid of a ton of it! He definitely has way too much stuff!! We still have a book shelf in his room that is full of board books and little kid books! I’m kind of a book fanatic and I love them! I have a difficult time getting rid of books, but they are just taking up space that we really don’t have. I’m going to get ahold of my niece and see if she needs any books for her and her little man. He’s not quite 1 yet, but he’s not far from the board books, he’s probably already old enough for some of them. We have a lot!! Anyway, I feel like I’m rambling and I’m tired and it’s late!! I’m going to hit the hay now. Until tomorrow 😘

Tons Of Clothes!!

This morning we all slept past the alarm! My daughter did in her room and we did as well!! So, needless to say, the kids were late for school. Once they were gone I had some tea and watched HGTV with my hubby and our oldest daughter. After a bit my hubby went upstairs to move things around and clean up our son’s bedroom, while I went through all of his clothes. We are picking up a new bed for him tomorrow, so we’re trying to figure out where it will go. His clothes were really starting to pile up and a ton of them were too small for him. It was definitely a long time coming! I filled 2 garbage bags with clothes that no longer fit him!! I found a loft bed on Kijiji that I have found at Jysk before, but it was too expensive! I was lucky to find one on Kijiji. It has a ton of storage. The steps are drawers, there is a desk, shelves, a closet and more drawers. I’m hoping it’ll solve the problem of what to do with all of his stuff!! It took me all afternoon to go through his clothes. When he got home from school he sat with me in the living room. I watched a quick show, then my hubby and I went to Sobeys. We needed some things for supper, as well as other groceries. When we got back I started to get supper ready. We had BBQ chicken with baked potatoes and corn on the cob. It was tasty. After supper we all sat around talking and being silly and then my son and I played a game for a while. We all played a game calledwho’s most likely”. Then it was time for my son to get to bed. My hubby got him ready and into bed and I went downstairs and walked on the treadmill for about an hour. Once I finished, I got cleaned up and got ready for bed. I think that tomorrow is going to be a busy day, so I’m going to get to bed now, so I’m not feeling too tired tomorrow. Night All! 💤😴

Dare To Dream Dance Competition Day 4

This morning I was able to sleep in!! I haven’t done so in quite some time. I love being able to stay in bed as long as I want without feeling like I have to get up and rush around. Once I was awake, my son was on the bed beside me and we played our golf game on my phone and the iPad. Afterwards, I went downstairs and had something to eat. My oldest daughter came home from Calgary. She showed me her photos (I thought that they’d have more since they were all dressed up for the convention!!) and the things that she bought. I had to get ready to drive downtown to the theatre with my daughter for her final dance at this competition. We arrived a bit early, as usual and I sat in the lobby on my phone for a while. Then I went into the theatre with another mom that I often sit with. We watched a category and a half before the one our girls were in, which was also the final category of the competition. This dance was their variety extended line. They did fantastic! The judge really liked it as well. They received Platinum and an award for most entertaining variety group. They also ended up getting a $500 scholarship for the adjudicators choice for favourite group routine of the entire competition!! (I think that’s what they called it. There were 4 final awards. A highest score award from each adjudicator and an adjudicators choice for each of them. Amanda’s also won one of the overall highest awards, in addition to the adjudicators choice award.) By the time we got out of there and drove home it was 9:00. I said goodnight to my son and then I went downstairs and walked on the treadmill for about 55 minutes. I watch videos on YouTube while on the treadmill, so the amount of time that I stay on is usually dictated by the length of the video I’m watching. When I got off, I had a shower and then got ready for bed. I’m feeling pretty tired, so I’m going to go to bed now!! Night All! 💤😴

Dare To Dream Dance Competition Day 3

This morning I was able to sleep until 9:30. Then I got up and got ready to go. We had to get to the theatre by 10:45 for my daughter’s solo. She danced it very well today. She received a silver. We stayed and watched a duo that my daughter wanted to see, then we drove back home, because she didn’t have to dance again until tonight. When we got home, we sat in my room talking for quite some time. Then I went downstairs on the treadmill for about 35 minutes. I got cleaned up and we had supper. Then we had to leave and drive back downtown to the theatre. I sat in the lobby for a bit, then my parents arrived and we went into the theatre. We watched a few jazz solos and a fun adult category before my daughter’s category. I enjoy watching the adult dances, I’d sign up, but we can’t really afford it. It looks like a lot of fun though and I did enjoy the adult tap that I took years ago when we were dancing in Beaumont. This was her jazz dance. They did really really great! They killed it! It was probably the best they’ve ever danced it. They all thought so, as did their teacher!! Apparently the adjudicator and I don’t agree…or perhaps she’s partially blind and didn’t see what the rest of us saw!! I don’t know. I’m no expert by any means, but I do know a good dance when I see one and this one was good. They reviewed a gold and an award for most promising. They all felt that they danced their best and were very happy with themselves. That’s super important! After her dance, we drove back home again. We didn’t get here until about 11:30. Her category was a late one tonight. Tomorrow is her last dance at this competition. Then there’s just a hip hop competition left and we’re finished for the season. It goes by quickly!! In the time I took to get upstairs and ready for bed and then write this, it has gotten late! I really need to get some sleep! Night All! 💤😴

Dare To Dream Dance Competition Day 2

This morning we had to be at the theatre at the same time as yesterday. So we had to leave at about 9:00. I sat in the lobby for about a half an hour, then I went into the theatre and watched the category before my daughter’s. It was hip hop solos. There were a few Amanda’s dancers in the category. Her category was hip hop, but it was groups not solos. She had both of her hip hop dances in the same category. Her class was her first one. Then at the end of the category they had their hip hop line. They did great as usual! The class dance received a platinum and an award for best stylization in a hip hop dance. Her line received a gold and the choreographer award. The judge said it was a platinum worthy dance, but gave them a gold because they needed to clean it up a bit. When I saw my daughter afterwards, she was not happy about their line. She wasn’t upset by what they received, she just said that they didn’t do it very well today, the beginning had a bit of a mix up and it threw them off. They were a bit sloppier than normal. We drove back home after her dances were finished, because these are all that she had today. When we got home I was feeling tired. I wanted to lie down, but I kept remembering things that I needed to get done. By the time I came upstairs to lie down, I was in bed for only a half hour or so before my son came home from school. He came upstairs and we played a game together, me on my phone and him on the iPad. We played until my daughter got home from work. Then I had to redo her hair. For some reason it came out all uneven the other day, with random darker portions here and there. It was strange, because I have been dying her hair for years and that’s never happened before. I started with the darker parts, then gradually went back over it all again. She had to leave for Calgary as soon as she got out of the shower from rinsing the dye out, so her hair was wet and I didn’t really get to see how it turned out. Hopefully it’s okay. I’m no professional, I really have no idea what I’m doing. I just kind of fake it. Once she left I had supper. Everyone else ate a bit before me, but I was still helping my daughter at that point. After eating, I played the golf game some more with my son. Then I went downstairs and walked on the treadmill for about 50 minutes. Afterwards I got cleaned up, put my son to bed and then got myself ready too. I’m feeling pretty tired right now. So, on that note, I’m going to go to bed. Night All! 💤😴

Dare To Dream Dance Competition Day 1

Today was a dancing day. We had to leave the house by about 9:00, in ordering to get to the competition on time. My daughter’s first dance this morning was ballet. They received a silver and a plaque for most promising. It definitely wasn’t their best performance of this dance. They seemed just a little bit off for some reason. She had a good sized break before her next dance, so we walked to a close by Subway and had lunch. When we got back to the theatre, we watched a few categories together until she had to go get ready for her next dance. I sat down and was on my phone for about 20 minutes. Then my parents arrived and we went into the theatre and watched a couple categories before my daughter’s began. Her next dance was modern. They did exceptionally well on this one and received a platinum and a plaque for conveying the most emotion, I think it was something like that. I can’t quite remember what it was called. It was something about emotion I think…I’ll check my book tomorrow to see what it was actually called!! It was Best Musical Interpretation. I just saw Amanda’s post on Facebook!! lol! Okay, so it has nothing to do with emotion!! It was the adjudicator who was talking about modern dances needing to convey an emotion to the audience!! I guess that was stuck in my head!! Oops!! After this dance, my daughter had to get ready for the next one. My parents and I went across the street to a Tim Horton’s and had some sandwiches for supper. We went back and into the theatre a bit before her category. This dance was her variety duo. They did well and received a gold. We went to the lobby afterwards to stretch a bit, again my daughter had to get ready for her next dance. My mom and I looked at some of the photos and we had a bathroom break. Then we went back into the theatre and watched the category before my daughter’s, it was lyrical solos and there were a few from Amanda’s in the category. Her category was also lyrical, but it was groups, not solos. Again they did great and received another platinum!! They also received a plaque for the choreography award. That category wasn’t finished until about 9:50! It makes for a long day! My Mom’s shoulder was really sore, so they went home right away, my daughter got dressed quite quickly though, so I didn’t have to wait that long until we could leave. She was hungry, so we went through the Wendy’s drive through on the way home. I wasn’t feeling that hungry, I just had a grilled chicken wrap, but she had a meal. We got home at almost 11:00. I think it was a bit before. Today was our most full day for this competition. The rest of the days aren’t nearly as full of dances. Tomorrow we have to get there by 10:00 again, but she just has the one category tomorrow. Both of her hip hop dances are in the same one. So, we will be home tomorrow afternoon! It’s late now and I’m beat, so I’m going to go to bed now. Night All! 💤😴

A Very Full Day!

This morning I actually stayed up once the kiddos went to school. I watched a couple shows on HGTV with my hubby and had breakfast. Around 11:00, my oldest daughter and I went to my mom and dad’s. My daughter is going to a comicon convention in Calgary this weekend and her and her friends are dressing up as different characters. My daughter is going as Cinderella. We had a blue gown made for her and bought a hoop skirt to wear underneath it, to make it look poofy enough. The hoop skirt was too long and you could see it at the bottom of the dress. My mom measured appointment where it would need to be brought up to. Then my dad drew a line along the bottom edge indicating where to cut it. Then, after my mom removed the bottom hoop, he used a neat heated knife that cut the bottom part off and the heat also melted the edge all the way around as he cut it, so that it wouldn’t fray and my mom didn’t even have to sew it!! Once it was finished, we had some lunch with them. Then we left and headed to Shoppers. My daughter bought insoles for her “glass” slippers. I got a couple things that I needed, then we went to Best Buy and bought a birthday present for my son from the girls. Afterwards we went to Winners, because I love it there. We got a couple things. I got a new charging cord for my phone and a pore scrubbing thingy. My daughter bought a new laundry basket and a Bluetooth speaker to use in the black car, because the stereo doesn’t work and she usually uses her phone to softly listen to music. This way she can bring the speaker in the car and play music a little bit louder. After Winners we drove home. My hubby almost had supper ready. He BBQ’d some burgers, as we finally have some nice spring like weather. It certainly took long enough!! We set the table and had supper. My hubby and daughter ate as quickly as they could, because they had to get to her dance on time. The three of us were a bit slower. Once we finished eating and had cleaned up, we went for a quick drive. My daughter has to go to the outlets tomorrow early in the morning. She wasn’t sure where the new roads had been built and she didn’t want to feel like she didn’t know where she was going in the morning. So, I drove over to the airport and we got an idea of where she will have to go in the morning. Now she’s feeling better about it. Afterwards we went to Sobeys and Shoppers and then home. Once at home, we came upstairs to the main bathroom and I dyed her hair with a home hair dying kit. I feel like I don’t really know what I’m doing, but I fake it and she’s usually okay with it. I’ve been dying her hair for years now! She helped her brother with his French words while I was applying the dye. When we finished, we got my son ready and into bed for the night. Then she hopped into the shower to wash out the dye and I got ready for bed. Tomorrow is the beginning of another dance competition, this one is called Dare To Dream. It’s at the new Triffo theatre in the downtown Grant MacEwan. We haven’t been there yet, so we’re giving ourselves enough time in the morning so that we won’t be scrambling to figure out where the dressing rooms and the rehearsal hall is when we arrive. This is her last full competition for the year, there is one more competition, but the last one is just a hip hop competition and her other style of dances won’t be in it. She has 4 of her 9 dances tomorrow. We will be there all day!! It will be a long one that’s for sure! I’m going to bed now, as I don’t want to feel tired tomorrow, because they’ll be no naps for me!! Night All! 💤😴

Weird Dance Night!

This morning after the kids left for school, I mean right after – my hubby wasn’t even home from driving my son yet, I threw up in the kitchen. Yuck. I hate getting sick. It sucks! I’m so sensitive to funny smells and things right now. It’s bloody annoying. I just need to feel normal again. It’s been going on for so long now. I even thought I was feeling better when I got up today… I decided to go back to bed for a while. When I got up I was actually feeling hungry. So I had something to eat. When the kiddos got home from school my son and I played some games together for a while. I watched Fixer Upper on tv while my hubby made supper. I then went on the treadmill for about 50 minutes. I went on early enough that I could still drive my daughter to dance around 7:30. Tonight’s her weird dance when she only has the one class from 8:00-9:00. It’s a bit of a pain, because she just starts relaxing for the evening and then she has to get moving again. It is only the one class, so when you drive her you don’t really have time to do anything. I just went and got something to drink and then sat in the car and went on my phone until she was finished. Then we drove back home. I didn’t really do much once at home. I just got ready for bed and wrote this!! That’s it, no I’m going to go to sleep. Hopefully I get through the day tomorrow without throwing up or feeling to sick!! Until tomorrow…Night All! 💤😴
