Accountability Is Tricky

She did not like

Where she was at

She felt so stuck

And that was that

She would not see

That she could alter

Her thoughts and actions

She would not falter

She did not want

To take the blame

Accountability is tricky

And hard to tame

She turned away

From her truth

She blamed the times

Back in her youth

She finds it hard

To look at herself

She won’t accept

Her hand in her health

She doesn’t think

That she can grow

She’s given up

She’s saying no

She doesn’t know

It’s not too late

There’s always time

To change your fate

Another Day, Another (Kinda Crappy) Poem

Another day, another (kinda crappy) poem.📱

I told myself I’d try 👍🏼

To right a poem everyday,✍🏼

For a different way to get by.🕵🏼

Tonight it’s late.⏰

I’m super tired.😴

I’d rather talk normally,🤐

But I’d consider myself fired!😢

Yup! I’d fire myself,😱

Because I take my challenges seriously!🤔

I wanted to see if I could do it!🏆

I was acting really curiously. 😜

But if you know me well,👩🏼

I mean really well!👨‍👩‍👧‍👦

You’d know that I have 🤗

A stubborn streak, if truth tell.😕

So this isn’t great,👎🏼

Not even a bit,👅

But I met my expectations!👏🏼

It doesn’t mean I have to love it!💔

Not that all poems must rhyme,📝

Like this feeble one!🖊

But it’s better than nothing, 〰

And now it’s done!! (Yay!)🎈🎉🎊🎉🎊🎈

Goodnight🛌💤

Highs And Lows, Ups And Downs

When something bad happens,

How do you respond?

Do you calmly assess things,

Or wind up needing bail bonds?

In life there are always

Highs and lows, Ups and downs.

Your reaction when things are low

Can set you apart from the clowns!

“Freaking out” or “losing it”commonly describe

Those who overreact

When they hear bad news –

They act half-cracked!!

Take time to practice

Thinking things through.

Get good at knowing

What you should do.

Then in moments of high stress,

When things seem to implode.

You’ll be more prepared

To keep yourself in a steady mode.

Then people will look to you,

With admiration and respect.

Instead of stepping back,

Thinking, “what the heck?!”

The moral of the story

Is find a way to self-regulate!

So that during intense times,

You won’t be fitted for a jacket that’s “straight!!”

This was written feeling very nauseous, with a cramping up tummy and during cold sweats…that is why it is so… Well, I don’t know the word that I’m looking for, I just don’t particularly like today’s post. But I really need to lie down and sleep!

You Can Do It

Frightened of change?

Finding yourself stuck?

Unstable and unhappy,

With perhaps some bad luck?

Do new things fill you up,

With anxiety and fear.

Would you rather remain stagnant.

For the reasons stated here:

It’s comfortable and safe.

It’s familiar and routine.

There are rarely any surprises,

“That’s just how it’s always been!”

Yes, change is hard,

But it won’t happen overnight.

Small changes day to day,

Can begin to set things right!

Drink enough water everyday,

And track it for a week.

What else do you want to change.

What other differences do you seek?

If you experience success,

Like with the water drinking,

You’ll see that you can do it,

And I hope it gets you thinking!

“What else can I do?”

What else could be changed?

Start looking at your diet,

What unhealthy foods could be exchanged?

Are there healthier options?

You don’t have to do it all!

A complete overhaul may not be needed,

It’s possible to start small.

Some do prefer to do it all at once,

But I think gradual works too.

It depends on the person,

And what they want to do.

Just know that YOU CAN DO IT!

And it doesn’t have to be scarey!

You can even take it slowly,

There’s no need to be wary!

You Are Divine!

Why does it take an occasion,

Like a funeral or a wedding,

To bring us together?

How does time slip away so quickly?

“We’ll get together sooner next time,”we say,

But we don’t.

Why does life need to be so busy and go go go?

Will we one day slow down and wonder,

“How did we get so old?”

When will we realize that the only time we have

Is NOW?

Will it be too late?

How do we start to change our perspective,

And our priorities,

To live a life with purpose?

Can we make the things that matter,

Our families and friends,

Come first?

Do you live your life with intention,

Seeking meaningful moments,

That inspire?

Can you make small, deliberate, changes

To your day to day interactions,

To live your life by design?

Be willful and consistent with your words,

Your actions,

And your life!

You can be the change that you seek.

You are powerful.

You are divine.
