Bla Bla Bla

We had a rather lazy day

We didn’t do much, I have to say

We went to Costco, fun fun fun

I made chilli to eat with a bun

We watched a movie, it was good

It was about peculiar children, watch it you should

I read a bit and played catch too

When cooking chilli, what else do you do

But now it’s late, it’s time for bed

I hear my pillow calling for my head

So goodnight for now, I’m going to sleep

At least until I hear my alarm beep💤😴

Happy New Year – Again…

Our oldest daughter got the distinct pleasure of being the designated driver (DD) last night! Lucky girl! She knew that she had to work today, so she did not want to be drinking, working hangover sucks! Her friends, who now live in the city, decided that they wanted to go to the bar, Live, in town after they had already started drinking. So, they called our daughter to see if she would drive to the city to pick them up and then drive back to the bar in Beaumont. I was surprised that she said yes, but she did. She thinks that part of the reason they were going to a bar in town was so that she could come. At some point, they decided they wanted to go to some party.  A party with a whole bunch of kids that they went to school with, who were never very nice to her. I know people say to grow up, but not that much time has passed since they graduated and kids hang on to petty things.  So, needless to say, she was not very comfortable at this party. She tried to convince them to come to our house for the countdown, and then she would drive them home afterwards, but good luck reasoning with young drunk people – or any drunk people for that matter! So, long story short, she got passed off at her friends and went and sat alone in her car for the New Years countdown, which sucks, especially since it was her first New Years eve not spent at home! Right afterwards, she said that they were kicking everyone out anyway, so she drove her friends back to the city and then drove home. By the time she got home it was almost 1:00 and she was not very happy. I don’t think she had much fun at all. (My stupid keyboard is on a French Canadian setting I think, because when I try to type an apostrophe, this is what shows up: è…so annoying! So I’m intentionally spelling the word wrong, so that it corrects it for me and adds the appropriate apostrophe!)  Isn’t being the designated driver fun! Well, I guess it is a learning experience for her. We’ve all been there at least once! (Oh great, I need to figure out how to change this keyboard, for question marks it is doing this: É. ARGH! Too frustrating!)

She did end up getting to bed quite late, which is no fun when you work the next day  the rest of us had a super lazy day. We didn’t do anything much. Played a couple games, watched a couple shows on TV when she got home from work. A very lazy day! We did make a mummy supper. We chopped up onions, peppers, celery, garlic, mushrooms and fried it with Italian sausages. We added a can of diced tomatoes and some spices of course and served it over tortellini. It was excellent!  Very tasty indeed. The highlight of my boring day was a good meal. Of course, none of the kids liked it, not even our oldest, which totally surprised me. I thought she would at least appreciate it, but no. She said it wasn’t saucy enough and just didn’t appeal to her. sheesh! Kids just don’t get how lucky they really are. Oh well, my hubby and I really enjoyed it! It is  getting late, it is 1:36AM, I’m surprised my hubby isn’t in bed yet. He couldn’t sleep last night and woke up at 6:00 am after going to bed really late. Knowing him, he has fallen asleep watching TV or playing a video game.  Well, even if he’s not, I am going to bed now. Night all🌛🌠.

Happy New Year!!

🎉🎊🎇🎆Happy New Year🎆🎇🎊🎉

It’s 2:17AM on New Year’s Day! I’m sooooo tired! We didn’t really end up doing much…we went to the neighbors for a while. They were having a fire and it was okay, but not great for my younger two. They got bored of all of the drinking adults fairly quickly. We came home, the three of us and played the game of Life. (The game is my game from when I was a little kid, so the income, etc is out of wack!!). After our riveting game of Life, we played a monkey card game. The goal is to get all the monkeys, 1-6 before everyone else, whom ever gets the 6 monkeys first are going for 5 monkeys in the next round. You work your way down until there’s one left to get. It was just long enough to take us to 11:50 ish. We watched a countdown on tv and we played around for a bit, waiting for my oldest to get home from being DD with her friends. Then it was bed time. Because it’s sooooo late and I’m sooooooo sleepy! Night all I’m falling asleep here. Sorry. 💤😴

A Game Day!

We spent the day at my mom and dad’s house today. My hubby and my dad looked at the inside of the car door of my hubby’s car, in an attempt to figure out why the power window doesn’t work. They found the broken piece and my hubby is going to pick a part in the morning to look for it.  So, hopefully the car that’s at pick a part has the part he needs. While they were playing car games, we were playing board games. More specifically, we were playing Harry Potter Clue. There are a few twists to this games, in comparison to regular Clue. It took us a while to get going, because of the differences, but once we got going, we had fun. It took a looong time to play! My middle daughter and I were on the verge again d losing too many house points, which, if you lose them all with the dark arts cards, means you’re out of the game! That would’ve sucked when you’re so close to guessing who did it!! She takes soon many notes when we play this, she litreraly writes down almost every move everyone takes, crazy girl. Although, whatever she’s writing, it’s obviously working because she won the game!! After that game we ordered pizza from one of those places where you buy it premise, but not cooked. Then you bring it home and bake it yourself. It was pretty good. Although, they aren’t kidding when they say thin crust!! That crust was sooo thin it was ridiculous!!  It tasted food though. After supper we played Pokemon Monopoly. It was fun, I guess. Personally, I’ve never been a huge Monopoly fan.  I like playing games though and it was fun enough. My son won.  He had way more money than everyone else!! Here I am falling asleep. Sorry! I was out there for about 10 minutes! Oops! I should probably just go to sleep. I’m sooo tired and tomorrow will be late too, since it’s New Year’s Eve. Night all💤😴

Almost New Years

Okay, this damn broken shift key is driving me more crazy than I thought it would!! Habits are interesting things aren’t they? I know. That there is another shift key, but I’ve been typing a certain way for as long as I can remember and it just is the one that I always use.  It does work, if you press hard enough, but it is missing the actual key, so you just have to hit the mechanism below it.  I thought it’d be fine, but it does drive me crazy, I must say.  Oh and I was wrong, this does have an automatic spell check. If it knows the word it corrects it. It also puts a capital automatically after you hit the spacebar two times, etc. I guess it’s just getting used to it. I wish that I could get rid of the ads at the bottom, they get in the way of the text and I can’t see what I’m writing.

Are you ready for New Years eve? I’m not… we don’t even have any plans. Usually we have some people over or we see our neighbour or we do something! So far this year, the plan is nothing, which is making me a bit sad.  I wonder what Jo. And Kris are doing… why did it put a capital there?? We will likely play some games with the kiddo and do nothing else, I guess.  Kind of sad and pathetic actually. I wish we had something to do.  My mom and dad are going to my sister’s, but the likelihood of getting an invite to that is slim to none… sometimes I feel like I have no life.  We used to do more. Maybe we’re just getting old or something. I suppose I could check in with Jo and others, but most people likely have plans by now! I’d be super surprised if they didn’t!!Oh well. The world is not ending if we do nothing on New Years eve.

I think that I’m going to head to bed. I’m feeling rather blah today.  Hey! Is that how you spell blah?? Who knew, look! It corrected it again! All this time I’ve been spelling it incorrectly. Interesting that the WordPress program on Microsoft corrects that, but the WordPress program on the iPad doesn’t. How strange, since they’re both wordpress programs. Huh. Well, time for sleep for me, night all🌛✨ (I found some emoticons on here!!)

Lazy Days

What a lazy week this has been. I’ve accomplished nothing since Christmas. Our house looks like a bomb went off. Partly because of the new Christmas things still sitting around and partly because nobody has done anything. Well, I shouldn’t say nobody. The mess is driving my hubby up the wall!! He keeps trying to tidy things up and doing the dishes, etc., but he hasn’t received a whole lot of support! I’d say we are probably driving him crazy right now. My stuff isn’t that bad, but there are definitely a whole lot of new toys lying around. I’ll put my things away tomorrow and clean up some of the toys. It just never seems to last. I suppose that’s why cleaning is a never-ending chore. It’s like that feeling when you clean your kitchen to perfection. You clear the counter, shine up the stove, do everything. Then, five minutes later, you walk into he kitchen and there are already dirty dishes sitting on the counter. And you want to scream!!

My oldest got lost driving home tonight! She decided that she was going to drive her friend to the century park bus depot tonight. She got into Anthony Henday and flew by her exit and stayed on until about Tewlilliger (did I even spell that correct??). Then she finally turned around. She managed to get lost again, before they decided to map it on her phone! Once she finally dropped her off, she put our address int her phone, she didn’t want to get lost by herself on the way home. She said it wasn’t that bad because her friend was with her, it would’ve been much worse to get super lost when she is by herself. By the time she got home it was 8:30!! I was getting super worried 😩!! I was thinking she was in a ditch somewhere, or worse! Gosh I’m a worry wart! I got my license at 16…how did my parents ever survive it??  We did know that she was driving her friend, but we also knew that it shouldn’t take an hour and a half!! My hubby kept saying that she probably got lost. When we were young we had to figure it out. We couldn’t just put the address into our phone and get step by step directions!! Not that I’m complaining, I’m glad that she was able to use her phone.

It’s after 1AM…sigh. Here I am awake super late again! We’ve been watching the newer Star Trek movies and watched the last one (the new one) tonight. Because our girlie was so late coming home, we didn’t get our movie started until late. So, now I’m awake too late…again! Hopefully my little man decides to sleep later tomorrow, he went to bed later too! Not this late, obviously, but still pretty late for his age! It’s a good thing he doesn’t have school. Although, we never would have kept him up that late if he did. Well, speaking of going to bed, that’s what I’m going to do now. Night all 💤😴

My Driving Daughter…

I’m having a difficult time keeping my eyes open. I’ve stayed up too late, yet again! I think my schedule is all out of wack, if, indeed, I have a schedule… I feel a bit like a nervous wreck! I know our daughter passed her drivers test. However, I still feel freaked out that she is driving herself to work and from work-at night, in the dark, on the snowy roads. It’s not that I think she’s a “bad” driver or anything. Maybe it’s just a parenting hurdle that I have not yet grown accustomed to. It scares me! A lot! I find myself glancing at the clock and nervously counting down the time until she’s home or she lets us know that she got to work okay. Then, once she’s here or at work, it’s like I can breathe again. I know we can’t drive her around forever and that she is growing yo, part of me is probably sad too. This gives her  independence…a scary thought!! My baby is getting older and there’s nothing that I can do to slow things down.   Okay. I can’t keep my eyes open! I just drifted off for about ten minutes. I really need some sleep! Sorry so short. This is all I’ve got for tonight! Sorry. Night all💤😴

Boxing Day

This WordPress app is not as user friendly as the iPad app. It could just be that I’m not quite used to it yet. Who knows. To be honest, I haven’t used an actual keyboard in ages. I’m accustomed to using either my. Phone or my iPad. So, it’s like remembering how to do something that I used to be very good at. It’s a little frustrating, but I’ll manage.

Today I was completely exhausted! I spent a good chunk of my day in bed. I slept late and I had an afternoon nap! (This broken shift key is super annoying…I may have to get a different keyboard, if it ends up bothering me too much!!) I don’t know why I felt so exhausted, but I couldn’t keep my eyes open. Do you ever feel like there is all of this build up to Christmas and then it feels like poof it’s done. There is just so much prep and so many things that have to get done before hand and then it’s just over. For Christmas, by the way, I received too many things again this year! We were supposed to be cutting back, but it feel like my hubby always says stat and then he goes a bit crazy himself. I got a beautiful Pandora ring, a neat hanging plant in a glass dome that looks like a fairy garden, a Lulu wrap and scarf, Lulu crops, Pink sweats, an electronic back massaging thing, headphones, this surface (although we’re technically sharing it!) hmmm… there are a couple little things that I can’t think of, but that’s about it really. Too much, if you ask me! well, I am feeling a bit tired suddenly… well, okay not suddenly at all!  Like I said, I’ve been tired all day long. So so tired. I think that I am going to go get some sleep. Night all!💤😴

Merry Christmas

It’s Christmas day! I’m sitting at my mom and dad’s fiddling with the new Microsoft Surface that my hubby and I got for Christmas. It seems more like a mini laptop than a tablet. I’m definitely not used to it. I’m used too automatic spellcheck on my iPad. But this does have a keyboard, which, once I’m accustomed to it, will likely be easier. Actually it does seem to have spellcheck after all. I’m not sure if it is the surface with spellcheck or if it is the WordPress program.  I think that I’m going to like this thing actually. My hubby and I were kind of fighting over it a bit. He likes the idea of using it for travelling for work. He was really hoping that he would be able to download his work program onto it and use this instead of the laptop that he uses. Secretly, I was hoping that that won’t work, because I liked the idea of a keyboard for when I write my p0sts!! We may just end up sharing it. I guess we’ll have to wait and see what happens.

It is super late and I should really be sleeping right now. The kids, and my hubby, woke me up around 6:30 this morning!! Far too early for me!! It did allow us enough time to get to my mom and dad’s with enough time for our oldest to come before work. That way she got to see my mom and dad and she got to have some of Granddad’s pancakes, which she loves!! Anyway, I’m solo tired, probably because it is 1:30AM and I’ve been up for 19 hours! So, I am going to head to bed now… hey!! I can’t do my usual smiley night time emotions that I usually do at bedtime after saying goodnight. So weird!

Drive Baby Drive!!

So, Christmas Eve. Crazy! Today was nice. What a relief not being busy!! I love that I didn’t have to scramble today. I was afraid my little man would be to excited to sleep! Which means I should be downstairs helping my hubby get our gifts under the Christmas tree 🌲.  So, that being said, this will be a very, very short post. Once we’re done I want to go directly to bed, because they all get up SO early Christmas morning.  I was able to shower this afternoon, play a card game with my younger kiddos, even clean up and vacuum (did I spell that correctly?? It sure looks weird!!). So strange not scrambling Christmas Eve. After supper we watched The Grinch and then did baths/showers and then did the milk and cookies and, finally, read The Night Before Christmas. Traditions traditions… I have to run! Oh, one more exciting thing, our oldest past her drivers test today!! She can officially drive now! I’m excited for her and being the worrying mom all at once! It was definitely a nice Christmas gift for her!!  Well, I have to go do presents. Merry Christmas Eve everyone! Night all 💤😴
