A Yard Day

Today I slept in later than I do on swimming lesson days. I had to drive my younger daughter to her friend’s from dance. They were having a birthday party. It started pretty early in the day considering it is also a sleepover!! After dropping her off, I came back home and crawled back into bed. My son was beside me on the iPad. I just relaxed for a while and he watched videos. Then my son went downstairs with my daughter and my hubby came upstairs for a while. He fell asleep for a bit. Then he got up to mow the lawn. I went downstairs and had something to eat. Then I went outside too. I helped a bit in the yard. My son and daughter were out back too. It started to rain, so we all came back inside. I made supper. After eating, I read my book. My daughter also read, while my son was on the iPad and tv off and on and my hubby was also watching tv. Then we watched Karate Kid 2. After the movie I got my son into bed. Now I’m going to bed too.

End Of Swim Kids 3!!

Today was the last lesson in my son’s level 3 swimming lessons. He ended up passing and I signed him up for the next level. Those lessons begin next week! He said he really wanted to keep going and he always seems to have fun in the water, so we’ll be back at it next week! After swimming, we came home and had something to eat. My son stayed home with my hubby and my oldest daughter and I drove to Pigeon Lake to pick up my daughter and her friend from camp. They received their first paycheques today and they were pretty excited!! Once we got into town we went to the bank to deposit her cheque. Then we came home. I made a quick grocery list and then we went to Sobeys and also to Shoppers. My hubby and son wanted slurpees, because it was so hot out, so we went to Seven Eleven. Then we came back home. I got supper ready and my hubby BBQ’d it. After eating, my hubby went to work. My daughter, son and I were in the living room. I read my book while my son went on the iPad and my daughter watched YouTube videos on the tv. Then I got my son ready for bed. Now I’m off to bed too!

Another Summer Day.

We were a couple minutes late for swimming lessons this morning. My daughter had a hard time getting out of bed. He hopped into the pool as soon as we got out of the change room. It looked like he didn’t miss anything though. After his lesson we went to No Frills and bought a few groceries. Then we went home. My daughter and I made breakfast sandwiches. After eating, we played Monopoly on the Play Station. We played for a while, but it was just going on forever, so we decided to stop. My daughter and I were both really tired. We both went to our bedrooms and had naps. I woke up when my son came upstairs after my alarm just went off. We went downstairs and my hubby and I made supper. I woke up my daughter when supper was ready. After eating, my hubby left for work. My daughter and I watched a couple HGTV shows, at the same time my son and I played with some bouncy frogs, the plastic kind that you try to bounce into a container. After playing for a while, my son watched a couple YouTube videos and my daughter and I watched another show. Then I got my son into bed. I’ve been tired these days, so I’m going to head to bed now.

Another Regular Day…

This morning my son had to wear clothes in the pool for his swimming lessons. They want them to go in the deep end and tread water and then practice swimming in their clothes. Then they were able to take their clothes off and finish the lesson in their swim trunks. After swimming we went home and I made some pancakes. After we ate, my son played his Zelda game. We helped him a bit, while looking on job sites with my daughter. My daughter left for work. I went upstairs and had a little nap at about 4:00. I slept a bit longer then I meant to. When I got up I made supper. After eating, my hubby left for work. My son and I played a few board games. Then my daughter came home from work. I made her some food while finishing the game I was playing with my son. Then I got my son ready for bed. Now I’m heading to bed too!

Back To Swimming Lessons!!

This morning we woke up for my son’s swimming lessons. We were almost late, but made it just on time! After today’s class he received a midterm report. It basically said that he’s doing well. Tomorrow he has to wear clothes in the pool for the first part of their class. After lessons, we went to Rexall to ask about my daughter’s prescriptions and how many she can purchase before her 21st birthday, because when she turns 21 in a couple weeks, she will no longer have any coverage for her prescriptions. We went to the Dollarama and then went home. We had something to eat. Then I went upstairs and lied down for a short nap. About 30 minutes later my son came upstairs and cuddled up with me. I thought that we’d probably just get up and go downstairs, but we both fell asleep! We actually ended up sleeping for almost 2.5 hours!! I certainly didn’t intend to sleep all afternoon! When we woke up we did a search and find book, then we went downstairs. I took out some chicken breasts for supper. Then I got dressed and went to Sobeys. I came back home and made supper. After supper my hubby left for work and my daughter came home from work. We searched jobs online all night and I helped her write a cover letter and apply for a couple jobs. Then I got my son ready for bed. Now I’m going to go to bed too!!

Drumheller Day 2!!

This morning we woke up at about 9:30. My hubby and daughter went to check out the breakfast. I stayed in bed because our son was still asleep. They came back right away. They said that there was not a lot left. We decided that we would buy something quick for breakfast. My hubby watched a bit of tv and the rest of us stayed in bed until about 10:30. We went to bed pretty late last night and we were all pretty tired. When we woke up, we got dressed, got all our stuff together and checked out of the hotel. Then we drove to the McDonald’s and got breakfast. The McDonalds was packed!! There were no free tables, so we took the food into the van and ate while we drove to see the HooDoos. Here’s a couple photos!

After we checked out and hiked around the Hoodoos, we drove to an old Coal Mine. Then we checked out the suspension bridge, my son didn’t really want to go across, so we waited for them to cross and come back. It was fairly quick. Afterwards, we drove to the tiny town of Wayne. We drove back into Drumheller and stopped at the Dollarama, and a couple little shops downtown. Then we drove back home to Beaumont. Our dogs were pretty excited to see us!! We brought our stuff in from the van. We flopped on the bed for a half an hour or so. Then we had supper and, finally watched a Disney, Pixar movie I’ve been wanting to see for a long time, CoCo. It was soooo good!! I really enjoyed it a lot! I’m so glad we finally watched it! It’s currently on Netflix and I highly recommend it! I’m not going to say much about it, because I don’t want to spoil it for anyone. Afterwards, we watched a few YouTube videos and then I got my son and now myself ready for bed. Back to swimming lessons tomorrow!!

Drumheller!!

This morning I woke up a bit later than I meant to. When I did get up, I had a quick shower, then finished packing my bag. I said goodbye to my daughter, she left for camp for the week. After she left, we left for Drumheller. It was about a 3 hour drive. When we arrived we went to the hotel to check in. However, the room wasn’t ready yet. They told us that 4 maids called in sick today so they were behind on cleaning the rooms. We checked in and got the keys. Then we went to the largest dinosaur in the world. There are stairs inside and you climb inside up to the top. Here’s a couple photos at the top.

After the dinosaur, we went back to the hotel and dropped off our stuff. From there we went to the Royal Tyrrell Museum. We spent a few hours at the museum. Here’s some more photos.

After the Museum, we got some Subway and something to drink at Extra Foods and brought it back to the hotel to eat. Since we were in the dinosaur town, we decided to watch Jurassic World on Netflix. Then we watched the last Pirates Of The Caribbean movie. Now we’re off to bed!!

A Watch For Camp!!

This morning my son didn’t have his swimming lessons. It’s only Tuesday’s to Friday’s. So, not surprisingly, I slept in this morning. My hubby ended up falling asleep on the couch after he got home from work, he never made it upstairs. My son woke me up when he woke up, then he went downstairs to see my hubby. I intended to follow him there, but I ended up falling back to sleep!! When I did wake up, I spent some time on my phone. Then I went downstairs. I cleaned our dogs bowls, because they were looking gross. Our bigger dog sheds badly and her fur ends up sticking to the bowl as she eats and collects there. If we don’t clean them often enough it can get yucky! Afterwards I had something to eat and read my book. Then I helped my younger daughter with her laundry. The two of us went to Shoppers to find her a cheap, watch that can get wet that she can wear for camp. We couldn’t find one there. We went to Rexall and I got my prescription and she printed some photos from her phone. Then we drove to the Walmart on Ellerslie and found a watch that will work. We also picked up a few other things that she needed for camp. Then we drove back to town. We went to the Sobeys, because they are taking turns bringing those big water bottles to have water for the leaders at camp and this is her week to bring one. Then we went home. I made some garlic toast to go with leftover spaghetti and we all ate supper. Then I helped my daughter with laundry again. She was looking for costumes or a cape for camp, so we looked with my older daughter in her room. Then we looked in my son’s room. We had better luck there! After we found what she needed for camp, I packed an overnight bag for my son and one for myself. My younger daughter goes back to camp tomorrow, the rest of us are going to Drumheller for the day, staying tomorrow night and coming back on Monday. My oldest daughter’s friend is going to be watching our dogs while we’re gone for the night. Once I had the bags back, I helped my oldest daughter with her resume, she’s adding her current job to the resume. She’s looking for something else to either work with her current job or in place of it, if they offer her full time. Her current manager had to cut her hours way back and now my daughter can barely afford to live, because she’s not working enough hours!! Afterwards, I got my son ready for bed. Now I’m going to get myself ready and go to sleep too!!

A Bit Disappointed!

Today we woke up for swimming lessons again. After swimming, my daughter and I dropped my son off at home. He went inside and woke up my hubby. Then my daughter and I drove to the Allen Clinic where she had a neurologist appointment. She ended up seeing the same neurologist that my younger daughter sees for her migraines. This dr is soooo thorough!!! We spent 2 hours with her today!! She talked to my daughter about the face pain that she experienced and is on medication for and about the migraines that she gets. It took forever!! After the appointment we were both starving! We got something to eat on the way home. When we got into town, we went the liquor store for my hubby and to No Frills. Then we went home. I had a roast cooking already. My daughter and I got the rest of the meal ready. Then we all ate supper. My hubby had to leave for work early tonight. Just as he was about to leave, my daughter came home from camp. She joined the rest of us at the table and my hubby went to work. After supper, the four of us played a very long game of Monopoly Cheaters Edition. I actually won!! Weird… I think that’s the first time I’ve ever won Monopoly in my life!! I have never been to huge Monopoly fan, but it’s one of my oldest daughter’s favourite games! When we finished, we all got ready for bed.

I decided not to take the Support Worker position. I’m a little disappointed, but they need me 3 evenings per week and with my hubby’s current schedule at work and my daughter’s dance schedule in the fall, the hours won’t really work. Depending upon my oldest daughter’s work schedule, there would definitely end up being times when my son would have to be home alone and seeing that he’s only 8, that’s not going to work for us!! Also, we looked into how much of money I’m aloud earn while on disability. It’s a measly amount!!! We figured out that I’d go from earning about $789 per month to, after taxes and the amount taken away from me because of my disability, only $275!!! So, essentially I’d only be making $7.60 per hour!! We just don’t believe that’s worth giving up 3 evenings. But, it doesn’t work with everyone’s schedules anyway! I’m a little disappointed, I liked the idea of getting out of the house and finding a way to make enough to cover my daughter’s monthly dance payments. The extra $275 wouldn’t even be enough!! We currently don’t even know how we are going to pay for her dance. My hubby’s current job doesn’t cover it…We have one month to figure it out. I’m praying on my hands and knees that he gets one of the positions that he’s applied for. It’s extremely stressful!!! Maybe I’ll start a Go Fund Me page.. Anyway, enough complaining. I’m going to head to bed.

Another Fairly Full Day!

Today we went to swimming lessons again in the morning. There was another new boy who missed the first couple of classes. After swimming, we came home and counted all of the change in my son’s piggy bank. With the cash he had and the change, he had enough money to buy a Nintendo Switch game that he’s been wanting. We saw it at Shoppers, so we went to buy it, but it was sold out. We decided to drive to Best Buy in South Common to buy it. They had it and the lady was a good sport about counting all of his change! From there we went to the Indigo/Chapters and I bought my son a set of the first three Captain Underpants books that he’s been wanting. There are 12 in the series, but you have to start somewhere. My daughter bought the new Monopoly Cheaters Edition. We drove home and my son was super excited to play his new game. My daughter played it with him. My hubby wrote a cover letter for a job he’s applying for and I read it over and did a few revisions for him. I watched them play the new game for a while. Then I started making supper. It took a while. My hubby literally had to eat and run. My daughter, my son and I played my one of my daughter’s Harry Potter board games. Then we played the new Monopoly game that she bought today. We weren’t finished and were thinking about keeping it on the table and continuing tomorrow, but, unfortunately my son accidentally knocked my tea over and it spilled all over the brand new game!! We tried to react as quickly as possible, but a lot of it got wet…we have it all sitting out to dry and we’ll assess the damage tomorrow. I put my son to bed then. Now I’m going to bed too!!
