I Won HQ!!

This morning my hubby didn’t go to bed until I left to drive my son to school. My daughter and I had our usual tea and breakfast when I got back. Then we watched some HGTV shows for a while. We were both feeling sleepy though. We decided to have a snooze. I went upstairs and went on my phone for a bit. Then at about noon I went to sleep. I slept longer than I meant to and woke up just in time to pick up the kids from school!! Once we got home my daughter got her dance stuff on and I drove her to dance. I came straight home and started supper right away. Once the chicken was cooking I read my book for a while. Then I made the rest of the food. After supper my daughter and I played HQ and I won!!! It’s the first time that I’ve ever won HQ! It was a bit easier for us tonight, because we’re kind of Disney freaks and it was a Disney themed quiz! There was one question that we weren’t sure about, so we picked different answers to have a better chance at one of us winning and I ended up picking the correct one. Quite a few people won tonight and the $5000 was divided by all of the winners, it ended up being a measly $.30 each…WooHoo! I guess what you win is bragging rights. You can say that you won HQ! Which is pretty difficult to do. Afterwards HQ we watched a couple shows. Then I got my son into bed and read and sang to him. I read for a while afterwards. Now I’m going to get ready for bed.

Neurologist Appointment!

This morning once the kids were at school I didn’t go back to bed. I was still feeling super tired because last night I woke up at around 2:45 and didn’t fall back to sleep for a few hours. It felt like I just finally fell asleep and my alarm went off! My daughter and I had our tea and breakfast and watched one show together. Then we drove to the city for her neurologist appointment. We arrived on time, but waited for close to 30 minutes after her appointment time before they finally brought us into the room. We talked with the dr for about 45 minutes or so. She gave my daughter a refill on one prescription and a new one to start for headaches. She’s also getting a tmj x-ray, as well as an MRI and a sleep study. So, she’s looking into a lot right now. When we were finished we drove back to town and then went to Rexall to drop off her prescriptions, to Sobeys for bread and allspice, to Dollarama for pie pans, and to No Frills for some baking ingredients. I’m not much of a baker, never have been, but tomorrow we’re going to try our hand at some apple pies and apple crumble. I have done apple crumble before, but not pies…it should be interesting! We got home with about 20 minutes to get something to eat before I had to pick up my daughter from school. My oldest daughter picked up my son, because today is the day that my daughter dances quite early and we basically come home from school, she grabs her dance stuff and then we leave. I dropped her off and then drove back home. I went upstairs when I got home. I was on my phone checking emails and I flopped onto my pillow. I told my hubby that I was resting my eyes, because I was so tired and they just wanted to close!! About an hour and a half later, at about 6:20, my daughter woke me up! Oops! I hadn’t meant to actually fall asleep! I got up and made supper. After eating I only had about 20 minutes before I had to leave to pick up my daughter and the other girl from dance who also lives in Beaumont. I picked them up, dropped her off at her Mom’s house and then we came home. My daughter had already started putting my son to bed. She was just finishing reading to him, so I just had to sing and he went to sleep. Then after saying goodnight to my younger daughter, I helped my oldest daughter with her generic, drugstore tooth guard that we bought today. Then I read a little and I’m going to go get ready for bed.

A Bit Of A Lazy Day!

This morning my hubby hadn’t gone to bed yet when we got up. He sat with our son while I drove our daughter to school. Then I came back home and drove him to his school. I didn’t sleep that well last night, so I decided to lie down for a bit when I got back. When I got up I had something to eat. I read my book for a bit. Then when it was time I went and picked up the kids from school. When we got home I got some rice ready to cook, so that my hubby just had to turn it on. We had leftover spaghetti sauce that we could mix with the rice, so that was all he needed to cook. I had a little snack and got a snack for the kids. Then at about 4:00 I drove my daughter to dance. She’s only there for 1.5 hours on Tuesdays, 45 minutes of student teaching and a 45 minute class. So, I just sat in my van and read my book. It really doesn’t make any sense to go home and come back in that short amount of time. When she was finished we drove home. I had some supper and read a bit more. Then my oldest daughter and I went through the apples that we picked from our tree. We got rid of all of the bad ones to see about how many we would be left with. Then we looked up recipes for apple crumble and apple pie and made a little grocery list of what we would need to make a few of both. When we finished that, I made my younger daughter something to eat and then I got my son ready for bed. I read and sang and he fell asleep. Then I read a bit more. Now I’m going to get ready for bed and try to sleep. I have a bit of a headache again today. Yuck!

A Headache Day

This morning once the kids were at school, my daughter and I had our usual tea and breakfast. We watched a couple episodes of Love It Or List It together. Then at around 11:30, after I had been up for 4 hours, I decided to have a nap. I had a bad headache and we were both sitting on the couch on the verge of falling asleep, so we decided to have a snooze. My hubby was still in bed upstairs. I went and lied down and fell asleep quite quickly. I was more tired than I thought. I slept for a couple hours. When I woke up I got ready to go pick up the kids from school. After talking with my hubby for a bit, I went and got them. We came back home and then about 10 minutes later I drove my daughter to dance. I just dropped her off and drove back home. Once I was back in town I quickly went to No Frills for some peanut butter and cereal, for the kids in the morning. Then I came home. I still had a brutal headache. I took something for my head and closed my eyes for 10 minutes, then my hubby had supper ready. He started it while I was gone so that he’d be able to eat before he had to leave for work. We ate supper and then he had to leave. My oldest daughter helped my son with his Zelda game and I read my book for a while. Then I got him ready and into bed. I read a bit more. I’m going to finish my book, I think that I am only a chapter away, and then I will get ready for bed.

A Weird Day

Today was a weird day. I slept in and even when I woke up , I wasn’t feeling great, so I stayed in bed for a long time, just kinda lying down, not actually sleeping though. When I did get my butt up I decided to have a long, relaxing shower. I thought it might help me feel better. When I finished I talked with my hubby for a bit and then I went to No Frills to get something quick for supper and for some lunch stuff for school. When I got home I cleaned up the kitchen and then I cooked supper. After eating my hubby gave my son a bath. When he was finished I got my son ready for bed and read and sang to him. Then I read my book for a while. I think I’m going to get ready for bed now. I just feel a little off today.

A Movie Watching Day

Today I slept in pretty late! I was feeling super tired. Once I woke up I stayed upstairs for a while at first on my phone and then reading my book. When I went downstairs I got myself something to eat and made my son some food. Then my hubby, my oldest daughter and I watched the new Hon Solo movie on the digital box. My younger daughter was up in her room and my son was on the computer. Once the movie was over, I went to Rexall to pick up my daughter’s prescription. Then once I was back at home my oldest daughter and I watched The Greatest Showman. My younger daughter loves this movie, so she came down a lot while we were watching it. My hubby went into the basement and my son stayed on the computer and watched a bit too. It was an excellent movie! So so good!! I have wanted to see if for so long now! It was well worth the wait! I just loved it!! After it was finished we had some chicken soup and then watched Deadpool 2. When that one was over, I got my son ready for bed. Now I’m going to go to bed too.

Whoopee Once Whoopee Twice Whoopee Chicken Soup With Rice!

This morning I slept in for a bit. It’s only the second week of school and the kids already had their first pd day! Crazy! They haven’t even had a full week yet. I had my usual tea and breakfast and then I played a game with my son for a while. Then we got him ready to go and he went to the Leduc pool with a friend. When he left, I took a few chicken carcasses out of the freezer and threw them into my huge pot with water to make some chicken soup. My daughter was still sleeping, so I went downstairs and woke her up. Then while I let the carcasses simmer, we watched some shows. My hubby woke up and joined us for a while. Once all of the meat was off of the bones I strained it. I put the broth back into the pot and let the rest cool in the strainer. My younger daughter’s friend picked her up and they went to the outlet mall in Leduc. My hubby also got ready to go out. I dropped him off at his friend’s place and came back home. When the chicken was cool enough, I went through it and picked out all of the good meat. While I was doing that my daughter chopped some veggies for me. We added it all to the soup, along with some spices, rice and beans. Then I left it to simmer again and drove to the mall to pick up my daughter and her friends. After dropping them all off we went to Sobeys and then went back home. I checked on the soup, added a few things, then left again to pick up my son. When we got back we finally were able to eat supper! My son had already eaten at his friend’s house and my daughter had eaten at the mall, so it was just my daughter and I eating. It was really good!! I just love homemade soup! It took most of the day to make it, but it’s definitely worth it in the end. After supper we watched a couple older episodes of Kitchen Nightmares. Then I got my son into bed. Now I’m ready to do the same!

A Snowy Day In September!

This morning we woke up on time, but when my daughter and I left to drive to her school I couldn’t find my snow brush. I ended up using the one from our car. By the time I scraped the ice off the windshield, dropped her off and got back home, my son and I had to rush again! He did make it on time though. When I got home my daughter and I had our tea and breakfast. We watched some HGTV. I also looked at jobs for my hubby. I picked up my daughter for lunch again. After I drove her back to school, my oldest daughter fell asleep on the couch and I finished watching the show we had on. Then I read my book for a while. I picked up the kids from school and then I drove my daughter to dance. I got a couple things at Sobeys on the way home. Then I came home and made supper. We ate supper and my son played a video game. Then my daughter and I watched another show and I played with my son. Then I had to pick up my daughter from dance. I drove back to home. My daughter and I had a long talk about dance and then I got my son ready for bed. I read my book and now I’m going bed.

Snow In September!

This morning I fell back asleep after my alarm. I have an alarm on my watch, from last year, that makes my watch vibrate like crazy, set for 7:50. Thankfully it actually woke me up today. However, we are usually already up and downstairs by that time, so we had to really rush. My oldest daughter finished making my son’s lunch for me while I was driving my younger daughter to her school. I guess that she actually slept later than normal this morning as well!! So I ended up driving her later than we normally do and her school was super busy and traffic was lined up!! By the time I got back from dropping her off, my son and I pretty much had to leave immediately. We arrived just after his bell rang, but there was still a line up of kids going in the school at his door, so he was fine and wouldn’t be marked late. When I got back my daughter and I had our tea and breakfast together. Then we watched some HGTV. We were both feeling pretty tired. It wasn’t long before she actually fell asleep on the couch. I watched tv myself and went on my phone. I woke her up when I started lunch for my younger daughter, but had to leave to pick her up from school. I needed my oldest to watch the food on the stove. When we got back she only had about a half an hour before she had to go back to school. She quickly ate and got her dance bag ready. Then I drove her back to school. I came back home and finished watching the show I was watching. Then I kind of half dozed off for a bit. I was sitting up on the couch, but I was sort of drifting off and then jerking awake and then drifting off again. My hubby woke up and we talked for a bit. I made my daughter some chicken strips and fries that she could take with her to dance tonight. I had something to eat myself. I talked to my hubby about his current warehouse position, so that I would have a good idea of what to add to his resume about it. Then I picked up my daughter from school. We came home for about 5 minutes, long enough for her to change and grab her dance bag and her food. Then I drove her to dance. I went to my mom and dad’s house to use their computer to work on my hubby’s resume in Microsoft Word. Even though his program was able to convert the PDF document to a Word document, the formatting ended up being all out of whack. We decided that it would probably just be easier to retype the whole thing, rather than mess with the confusing formatting. So we printed it and I was able to add his current warehouse job and change some, well, a lot, of what he had about his previous positions and training while I retyped the whole thing! It actually ended up a lot longer than I wanted, but I wasn’t ready sure what to keep and what to cut, so my hubby is going to look it over tomorrow. He should know better than I do what is most important about his past experience, hopefully! It took me longer than I thought it would. My parents were having friends over for dinner, one of my moms oldest friends from when she was a girl and her husband. When I finally finished I talked with them for just a bit and then I went home. My daughter had a ride home with another dancer who also lives in Beaumont but dances at the same studio as we do, in the city. So instead of staying at my parent’s until 9:00, I went home. My hubby had already left for work, just my oldest daughter and my son were home. I ate supper and watched one show. Then my daughter and I cleaned the kitchen and collected all of the garbage and recycling from around the house and took it outside and down to the curb for the morning…we did this in the snow!!! It’s snowing like crazy and it’s September!! So so weird! It’s a good thing that we picked as many apples as we could yesterday, because it did actually snow. Stupid Alberta weather! When we finished cleaning, I got my son ready and into bed. I read my book a bit. Now I’m trying to decide if I am just going to go to bed or if I’m going to shower first. I’m pretty darn tired… I don’t know. Well, I guess that I will figure it out!

Apple Picking

This morning my oldest daughter got up early with us again, so that my son didn’t have to sit by himself while I drove my younger daughter to school. Once I had them both at school we had tea and breakfast together. Then we watched a bit of tv. We made a small meal plan for the rest of the week, trying to use whatever we had at home and then a grocery list with as few things on it as possible, to keep it affordable. Then we went to No Frills and bought the few things that we needed. I also put a bit of gas in my van. Then we came back home. She helped me get some veggies cut and some stew cooking. I did the dishes, then my hubby got up. I went with my daughter to the Starbucks in Leduc, where my daughter had an interview. I brought my book with me and had a bit of change on me, enough to buy some tea. I sat and read my book while she had her interview. Afterwards we drove back home. She thinks it went well, but I guess we just have to wait and see! The lady said that she’d get back to her within the week. It’s only for a very part time position, but it is better than nothing!! When we got home I added the veggies to the stew. Then my younger daughter and I left for dance. I dropped her off and then I drove to my mom and dad’s house. I visited with them for a bit. My dad helped me convert my hubby’s resume from a PDF document to a Word document. (My friend saw on the news that many popular job sites, like Indeed and Workopolis, currently have a glitch in there software and their system is not reading resumes in PDF form correctly. They said that people who were uploading their resumes as PDF documents were not hearing anything back from numerous places that they had applied to. Of course all of the jobs that my hubby has applied for have been on these sites and his resume has been in PDF form!! So, my friend knew that he hasn’t heard back from anyone, even though he’s applied for a ton of jobs. When she saw this on the news she called me right away to let us know. Crazy right?! Could this be the reason why he hasn’t heard back from anyone?! Sooo frustrating!! Anyway, I’m going to probably go back to their house tomorrow, while my daughter is dancing, and fix my hubby’s resume and then upload it, not as a PDF document, to his file on the Indeed and Workopolis sites. We don’t have Word at home anymore and I am not familiar with Google Docs, which is what my kids use and what my hubby originally used for his resume. I only had a short amount of time at my parent’s house today, so I didn’t really have time to work on it. After my short visit with my parents, I picked up my daughter from dance and we drove home. We stopped at Shoppers and bought her a cheap agenda that she can use for school and then we went home. My hubby had already left for work and my oldest daughter and son had already eaten supper. So, my younger daughter and I ate supper, while my older daughter and son made banana bread together. When we were finished eating and the banana bread was in the oven, we all went outside in the backyard. Because it’s supposed to snow tomorrow…if you can believe it, we needed to get a couple things done. We put the summer chairs and toys into the shed and covered the wooden ones with a tarp. Then I brought out my hubby’s folding a frame-type ladder and we picked as many of the big apples from our apple tree as we could. It was pretty difficult, the tree has gotten quite tall and there were some high ones that we just couldn’t get, but we got what we could. Our tree grows two kinds, little red crab apples and some nicer bigger ones. We focused on the bigger kind, because with the little ones, by the time you cut and core them there’s practically nothing left!! We brought them inside in two boxes. It got dark while we were out there, so once we had the apples inside I went through them to make sure that we didn’t bring in too many bugs with them! I found a few, hopefully all of them. Then I started getting my son ready for bed when my younger daughter had a minor crisis, she was taking her pointe shoes out to bring them with her to school tomorrow, for a photography assignment at school, when she noticed that one of the shoes had a huge stain on it. She was really upset! We searched how to clean them and found a couple different things. So we tried to clean them off. It was difficult to tell if we got it all, because, as soon as they got even a tiny bit damp, they went a strange orange colour. I hope that they’re okay. We certainly cannot afford another pair right now!! When we finished cleaning them, it really didn’t take that long, I read and sang to my son. Then I said goodnight to my daughter as well. I read my book a little, now I’m going to get ready for bed. It was a long day and I still have a cold , so I’m tired.
