I am working hard on my website. It is a big project to take on. I’m not quite where I wanted to be before sharing it and my new self-commitment includes my website, so I’m not going to put it here quite yet. Until I do (hopefully very soon), I am continuing with writing a blog post everyday!!

My daughter had or rather, is having a New Years party. We had fun playing rockband 4 (the newest one with all of the new instruments etc..). It’s so so loud though! When you’re down stairs playing you can tell it’s ridiculously loud, but everyone’s singing along and it’s a lot of fun. It was actually my neighbor’s 14 year old daughter & I who originally put it on. Then, because it is fun, more and more people came upstairs to play. Before we knew it, almost everyone was upstairs and it was midnight! Count down. Then I just visited with my neighbour, lucky lady gets to go to Mexico on Saturday!! Feeling a bit envious (I admit it). So by the time I got the younger ones settled (in our bed). My hubby is still partying with the kids-lol!! He’ll probably just crash on my daughter’s bed, since she’s in our room. She doesn’t really like being around a bunch of drinking kids (okay, they’re 18…but they’re still kids to me!), she gets very uncomfortable. On top of that, she hasn’t felt well all day!! So we’re upstairs where, I must admit, rockband is much less appealing and it suddenly seems much louder – lol!! Yep not quite the same appeal when you want to sleep! My daughter’s asleep (some how), but I am pretty sure my little man isn’t. So, I am going to be cutting this short tonight and get him to sleep – hopefully. I may have to ask them to dial it down a bit if he (or we) can’t sleep.

It’s December 31st, That means, in writing this, I have fulfilled my self-challenge! I said I need to write one post each day (a “day” defined as any time before I go to bed each day. Even if it’s past midnight, as long as I wrote before I went to sleep!) beginning January 1st, 2015 – December 31st 2015!!! And (insert pat on my back here!!) regardless of health and location I posted every day in 2015!!! I must say, I’m proud of myself. Yay me!!! And now…I go to bed and, in the morning, embark on My New Self-Challenge: 2016 edition…

Some times poems come easy

The words just flow from my lips

But other times it’s tougher

And my tong just ties and slips

Life too has ups and downs

It rarely stays nice and steady

There’s often unexpected turns

It’s hard to always be ready

When life is good and going smooth

Don’t forget to offer thanks

As gratitude is often overlooked

And it’s important for when life tanks

When surrounded by your problems

And seemingly everything’s got you down

Being greatful for who and what you have

Reminds you that things can turn around

Gratitude is just so important

It shows appreciation for what others do

So…say THANK YOU!!! It’s never too late to just use our words to thank those who, perhaps should have been told sooner… It’s a great time to be greatful. Just look back over the past year at all you’ve done and all you have and the family and friends who support you; maybe thanks is in order!!

And THANK YOU everyone for all the support and encouragement over the past year. I’m so lucky and thankful for my family and friends. I am blessed!!

2015 In Review

First things first…my little man is growing up so fast. Already shaving!! Don’t believe me, take a look:

So, you see, he’s getting bigger and bigger by the second, well, at least that’s how it feels. Our good friends gave him the Avengers shaving kit for Christmas and he really likes it!

Today WordPress sent me an annual review of my blog. It’s pretty cool. Also, since it’s so damn late and I’m so tired, it’ll help me write a very short post, so that I can go to bed!! (Lol!! The following pictures are my post for today!!)

So, there you have it folks!! A couple days early, but I’m too tired tonight, so this was fairly easy for me. Had a quiet day, but for some reason I’m insanely tired!! Night all!!

We had another quiet day today. I was actually pretty productive too! I spent quite a bit of time on my website today. Replied to all the new comments, watched 2 training videos and finished the tasks that accompany the videos. I wanted to “launch” my new site on New Years Day, but yikes that’s soon!! It’s not actually a big launch that has everyone on pins and needles or anything. It’s part of my new promise to myself for 2016, since in only a couple of days I will have reached my goal for 2015. I can hardly believe I did it, a post a day every single day of the year! Yay me!!! All kidding aside, I’m actually pretty proud of myself. When I decided to commit to writing daily last year I wasn’t sure, because of the awful face days, whether or not I would be able to do it. But, here I am, 3 days away from succeeding and, you know what, it feels really good. Again I say, “Yay me!!!” My challenge for next year is similar, maybe more difficult, it will involve both my blog and my website and I feel really good about it. A few people have asked me and/or told me that I should combine all of my posts from this past year and have them made into a book…the idea scares and excites me at the same time. I wouldn’t even know where to start…hmmm…if anyone has any good ideas about this, please let me know!! I have dreamed about writing books, but I have no idea how to go about that. Anyway, book or not, I’m super proud that I’ve followed through and, despite the pain, I’ve reached my goal. Woohoo!!!

I fought through the pain that my damn Trigeminal nerve likes to dish out all over the place, actually more like all over my face…

All That You Invest…

Do you grow as a person everyday?

Having a nice quiet Boxing Day. My Mom and Dad came over for a while. We forgot a couple things at their house yesterday, including one of my son’s favourite gifts this year. My parents bought him remote control “bumper cars”. There are two cars and each car has a “person” in it. The cars have big bumpers and the goal of the game is to bump into the other car hard enough to knock their person out of the car. It’s actually pretty neat, he (and almost all of the rest of us) had fun playing it yesterday. So, of course, that’s one of the things we forgot to bring home last night! Other than that, we did not really do anything all day! Which is good because it was one of those days where I need a quiet/nothing day – period. No maybes allowed. I just feel too tired for anything. My face is burning and I’m having a difficult time keeping my eyes open, I’m just so sleepy (last nights turkey?? lol) So it’s one of those days that my body chooses what I will or will not be doing. Today, for once, I agree with my body though. Because, my brain feels tired and fuzzy, like I can’t focus or think too hard about anything. It’s like there’s a light film surrounding my mind, making my thoughts seem fuzzy or foggy, which does not help when you’re trying to focus on writing something or even thinking about what to write. My brain would much prefer to shutdown for the day. If I went to bed right now, I’d probably sleep right through, until tomorrow. Just the thought about going to bed feels as if it’s drawing me closer to my bedroom – lol! So I’m sorry to say that I need to get going, I’m too tired for anything more today. So until tomorrow, I’ll say, “Merry Boxing Day!!”

On our way home from my parent’s house. We had a good day. The girls came in to wake us up at 7:00am. We did our presents at our house. When we were done we went to my mom & dad’s house for “breakfast” (we didn’t even get there until 11:30!). We exchanged gifts with my parents. I was feeling super tired, so I had a nap in my parent’s bed-ahhhh… Then my sister and her family came. We did more gifts (for the kids). We had a nice visit, an amazing meal (I’m still feeling too full) and played some games. It was a good day. Nice to see my sister and her family, we haven’t seen each other since the summer. Once we get home I’m going right in and getting my little man and I straight to bed… Oh. We’re home…

Arizona sprang from the van,

Then to us, gave a whistle,

Out of the van we all flew

Like we stepped on a thistle.

And inside I exclaimed,

Ere I went upstairs out of sight,

The Wonder On Their Faces…

It’s Christmas Eve and of course I’m not in bed yet…my goal was midnight. Close, but no cigar (does anyone know where that expression comes from??). We spent the majority of our day finishing the wrapping. The kiddos were decorating gingerbread on the main floor. My hubby was in the basement wrapping gifts and I was up in our bedroom wrapping. It’s kind-of crazy if you think about it, all of the hours that goes into wrapping gifts, only to be torn off and tossed away. I know that many appreciate the time and energy put into gift-wrapping, but somehow I don’t think the kids get it. Well, I think Tay is starting to see, but most kids are more excited to find out what’s inside rather than focusing on how it’s wrapped. So, why do we put so much time into the wrapping?? Maybe it’s for that very reason – to see the wonder and excitement in their eyes. I love to catch that sleepy first look on their faces when they walk into the living room and see that the stockings were filled and that Santa left all the gifts under (& around) the tree. It’s a beautiful sight. To see that sparkle in their eyes. You can tell they just want to jump right in, but they learn young to follow whatever traditions that have been passed down onto them. My girls are obviously old enough to know what is “normal” for us. And, even my little man now knows that we don’t just dive into the gifts, he knows to grab the stockings first. He’ll want to give me mine and Arizona his, before he sits down with his (little sweetie…). He will, of course, still be learning our traditions too. He watches us and learns from us, not just my husband and I, but his sisters and grandparents, his aunt and uncle and even his cousins. Our traditions also evolve to include him, the youngest of our small family.

But the one thing that doesn’t change over the ages, the one constant each and every year is the joy and wonder on their faces, in their eyes, in their smiles. They just feel happy and loved, they just know that they are adored – they just believe. Period. They believe…

My eyes are drifting shut

My mouth is open in a yawn

My breath is coming slowly

I need to sleep ’till way past dawn

I’m trying hard to stay awake

But my brain is shutting down

I can’t think a coherent thought

Seeing the time just makes me frown

My thoughts aren’t making sense

This is a waste of time
