Today my daughter’s alarm went off at about 9:20. We wanted to make it to breakfast before 10:00, when it was over. We were the only ones there for the majority of the time. One other person showed up for about 5 minutes. We went back to our room after eating and she started getting ready to dance, doing her hair and makeup. I sat for a bit, but we didn’t really have that much time before we had to checkout. We ended up leaving closer to 11:30. We were supposed to be at the theatre by noon. We were a little early. She went backstage and I was in the lobby with some of the other moms. We went into the theatre and watched tap before the hip hop category. She had both of her hip hop dances in the same category. For both dances she received a high gold. Her senior group won 3rd place and their hip hop line won first and the choreography award!! Two categories afterwards, she had her production or musical theatre line. They received a high gold, second place and the choreography award. Another two categories later, she had her modern dance. They received high gold and third place. She’s been doing quite well at this competition! Other than her solo, she’s gotten high gold and placed in all of her dances!! I’m proud of her!! After the modern dance, she finally had a chance to take a bit of a break, just for about 40 minutes though. I got us each a booster juice. Then she went with her friends and I went back in the lobby and had my drink and visited a bit. Then I watched her jazz. They did great, again!! She received another high gold and second place! Her jazz dance was in the final category of the competition. The final awards and scholarships were announced after her jazz adjudication. Their lyrical dance, restitution, won a final prize and their hip hop line, what time is it, also won a final prize. Amanda’s also came in second place in the top studio award, we lost by a score of only .01!!! That’s crazy!Once the awards were finished, we could finally go home, after a long full day. Well, get food and then go home! We drove back home and arrived by about 8:00. My daughter and I were both feeling tired! I played with my son until his bedtime, I wanted to go on the treadmill, but he really wanted me to put him to bed tonight. By the time he was ready for bed and actually sleeping, I was just feeling too tired. I probably should have done it right away, but he really wanted to play and I hadn’t seen him in a couple days. Once he was asleep, I got myself ready and now I’m going to crash! Night All! 💤😴
