This morning once the kiddos were off to school, I was pretty sleepy. It looks like the kids weren’t the only ones who had to get used to back to school hours!! Other than Christmas Day , I haven’t gotten up that early in two weeks!! So I just kind of vegged out on the couch, beside my hubby, until I had to get moving in order to make it to my dr’s appointment downtown. I talked to the dr about the pain returning, it was super bad all day. She filled my prescriptions and we talked about our upcoming Jamaica trip. She gave me a prescription for myself and my hubby for hepatitis A and B immunizations. You have to get one shot, then another 4 weeks later and one more in 6 months. After the dr’s appointment I met a lady at the Starbucks to look at a dress. I’m trying to find one that I can bring on our trip. I tried it on in the Starbucks bathroom- lol. It was difficult to tell exactly how well it fit, as it was a small space and a small mirror. I decided to buy it from her. I really liked how the top looked…hopefully the bottom doesn’t make me look like a house!! It’s not a style that I generally wear, but I really found it pretty! After that I drove home. My dad and hubby were supposed to be working on fixing our railing to the basement and adding a light switch in the laundry room. However they weren’t there. I saw some of my dad’s work things, so I figured that they just ran out to Home Hardware, which turned out to be the case. They got back about 10minutes after I did. I told my hubby about the shots. Because we need to have the first two immunizations prior to our trip, we had to get the shots right away! So my dad said he’d keep working and we should run to the pharmacy and get them done. So we did. My arm is still aching. Some shots don’t even affect you and some ache, apparently these are the achy type. When we got back, my hubby helped my dad some more and I got everything chopped and ready to make a stew. I was planning on using my slow cooker function on my Instant Pot. Well, getting it all ready took longer than expected and by the time I got it all going, my dad and hubby had finished up and my dad went home and my hubby went to get the kids from school. I knew at that point that we’d be having a late supper, since slow cookers are, well, slow!! Lol. My hubby and my daughter had to leave right after they got home, because she had dance class. So for quite a while it was just my son and I. His favourite thing is alone time with me. We played some games, we played with his floppy, indoor frisbee, we used his new kit to decorate balloons, we made paper airplanes and of course had contests with them, then we worked on adding his face into the top corner of the gaming video that he recorded yesterday. It took us forever! We finally got it figured out and now we can’t seem to get it onto the pink iPad. It’s too frustrating! By the time we were at the end of making his video, my hubby and daughter came home. So, we decided that we’d all have some stew, since it was 8:30 and we were all starving and by that point it had been in my Instant Pot for 5 hours, on slow cooker mode set to high. Low and behold, the carrots and potatoes were still crunchy and raw!!! Argh! My regular slow cooker would have cooked it on high in 5 hours!!! Stupid Instant Pot! How frustrating! By then we were all starving, so my hubby just ran out to Subway and I added another damn five hours to my extra slow cooking Instant Pot!! I think if I keep a running tally, I’ve so far had more fails then successes with the Instant Pot. Looks like stew for supper tomorrow!! By the time we ate our supper it was time to rush my son to bed! The way my face is hurting, I’m going to bed too!!
Night All! 💤😴
