It’s New Years Day and I haven’t thought of what this years resolutions will be. Hmmm…something to think about I guess. I remember when my resolution was to write every day. I’ve gotten pretty good at that. Most of the time I’m just rehashing my day, nothing earth shattering usually, but at least I am writing. I just don’t know what it’s going to be this year. I’ll keep you posted.
I’m starting to get excited about Jamaica again. Especially because it’s so soon!! We leave on February 8th. Just over 1 month away!!! Too exciting. I’m a bit of a nervous flyer. I just hate turbulence. It totally freaks me out. I know that flying is supposed to be safer than driving. I’m usually okay if I keep myself busy, like if I watch a movie or something else like that to make the time go by and keep me preoccupied. Somehow I feel safer with my hubby there. I don’t know why, but I do. This is our first child-free trip! Our oldest daughter is 20 and we haven’t gone anywhere without the kids. Crazy right?! Well, that’s what people tell us anyway. Although, it’s not like we’ve been on a million trips! Our “trips” usually consist of us getting in the van and driving to my mom and dad’s BC house. Anyway, Jamaica is coming up soon and it’s starting to seem more real now! I’m going to dig back into my Jamaica books, now that it’s sooner, and figure out what I really want to do when we’re there. My hubby doesn’t want to miss the Bob Marley (is that how you spell his last name?!) tour of his house and studio. He’s also excited about the Appleton rum tour (probably because of the tasting along the way – lol) I’m not a huge rum drinker though. I’m looking forward to a beach with a good book. I know, not huge plans or anything!! Oh, I also think it looks pretty neat to climb one of the waterfalls. There are a few where you can do this. Some have deeper pools of water than others. I’m not sure which I’d prefer, the deep or shallow pools. It’s supposed to be quite slippery. You need to wear water shoes and people form a human chain to get up the side of the waterfall, then, depending upon the deepness of the pool, you can jump your way back down. Sounds fun! They look beautiful too.
Today we went to my mom and dad’s house for New Years Day. We played a couple games; my hubby and dad were in the garage fixing the cord to plug the black car in when it’s cold during the first game. Then we all played Rummoli (I think that’s how it’s spelled) together. It was fun. It is a good game, because everyone can play it. It’s not too difficult for my 7 year old. He just needed a bit of help with the poker part, which is really just a small part of the game. After that game, we set the table for supper, then my hubby, my son and I played a few rounds of Pigmania until supper was ready. We had supper, my mom cooked a roast and it was really tasty. Then we had cake for dessert. Then, while we were visiting a bit before leaving, my son started on his new Minecraft LEGO that my sister got him for Christmas. Around 8:20 we went home. My hubby dropped us off and went to pick up our oldest from work. She couldn’t drive the black car that she usually drives to work, because they were working on it today. She doesn’t like driving the van, so my hubby drove her to work earlier today and picked her up. While he was gone I got my son ready for bed. Then I also did the same and sat in bed to write this!! Now I’m going to go to bed.
Night All! 💤😴
