My hubby and I may be going to New Orleans in January or February!! How cool would that be right?! How can we afford it , you ask?! Well, we can’t. Not really. But…we have to go somewhere! If we don’t, the buy one plane ticket get the other completely free deal, that he earned with all of his travelling for work, will go to waste!! We can both get to and from New Orleans in January for about $650, return flights!! So, we have to save up until then. The flight has to be booked in the next few days or we lose it! However, we can find a place to stay, we’re looking at airbnb.ca for options. We’re hoping to find a place with a kitchen, to cut costs a bit. There are some very reasonable places to stay!! I’m so excited!! In the twenty some years we’ve been together, we’ve never had a holiday, just the two of us!! When the girls were younger, we went to my cousins wedding, in Calgary, for two nights and my good friend Holly watched the girls (that was before my son was born). Also, a few years ago, I went with him to Toronto. However, he worked the entire time, while I hung out in the hotel room relaxing, reading etc. I think we maybe had dinner together one time!! And that’s it!! Anywhere else we’ve gone, we had the kids with us. Those two times don’t even really count as holidays. The first was spent entirely with family, the second my hubby worked the whole time. So, the thought of just the two of us getting to go away together is very exciting!! I’ll let you know where we decide to go once we book it!! Yay!!
Today was busy. We had to go to the city to get my son school shoes and headphones. We had to unload all of the camping stuff and clean the cooler/put stuff away, etc. I also had the great pleasure of helping my younger daughter clean up her bed area in her room. We didn’t get her whole room finish, but we pulled her bed out removed the mattress, cleaned under it and all around it. She has been finding tiny black beetles in her room and she was freaked out and didn’t want to be sleeping uwith them, so we cleaned her bed completely…over, under and in between. Up and down and all around! Dr Suess would be proud. We found a few more, but not an infestation or anything. Thank God!! I was nervous when she told me she’s been finding them in her room, after our pantry experience in the kitchen, a few weeks ago. But, like I said, it was not even close to that level. So she was relieved. She refused to sleep in there last night and slept on the couch in the living room. She tried to sleep in our bed. However, my hubby was already asleep and had to get up for work at 4am, so I didn’t want to wake him and ask him to grab the couch. He would have slept on the couch if he had known and was already/still awake. He was in bed before we got home last night!! Did last night’s post not work?? Usually the posts show up in order for me and the most recently published one is on the top, which is logical, but last night’s isn’t there!! There’s just the day 2 camping one…it’s bothering me that it isn’t there!! Hmmm… what was
In that post?? Our last day at the camp ground. My daughter went tubing (behind Keith’s boat), my son and I played Veronica’s bean bag toss game and hide n’ seek. Then, we joined the test of the group on the beach, got ice cream, played hide the rock and my son played in this uuhe sand. Then we packed up literally finishing just as it began to rain. We drove home in the rain.
I’m falling asleep and I have to drive the kids to school early in the morning. Night All! 💤😴
