Today’s International Trigeminal Neuralgia Awareness Day ‼️‼️ I went crazy with the Teal for TN. Did you??
And now, back to Sharry!!
Jacob powered on Sharry’s desktop and went on Facebook to scroll around and see if there was anything new on the Angel front, seeing as the majority of his fellow guardians, and even some of the Arch’s, were on Facebook now and they were all on high alert for Lucifer. Jake didn’t need to sleep, but he did need to keep an eye on Sharry, while she slept. He glanced over to her bed where she was lightly snoring. Her red hair was tasseled all over the pillow and her long eyelashes fluttered a bit, as her eyes moved under her closed eyelids. She looked so peaceful when she slept. Truly, he could watch her for hours, but he didn’t want to be creepy and he figured that staring at her all night while she slept probably qualified as creepy. It was a word she had taught him, creepy. He had to admit, she’d taught him so much about humanity and there was so much more to it than he had ever thought, prior to being assigned to guard her. He envied humans right to freewill. He wasn’t so lucky, he had to follow orders.
Jacob had actually been angry when he was pulled out of his prayer time to start guarding Shar. Prayer time is the quiet time that he’s supposed to have, for himself, between assignments. However, he had barely had a break. Looking back now, he wouldn’t have it any other way. He couldn’t imagine being without Sharry. The fact that she was in extreme danger scared him to his core! He would do anything for her. “And now,” he thought, “she’s angry with me and thinks I’ve been lying about my feelings for her!” This was so far from the truth. He wasn’t sure what had made him hold back from telling her about himself and the danger she was in. Maybe he wanted more time for just the two of them. Or perhaps he wanted her to feel safe, he just didn’t want to admit how much danger she was in. If he was being honest, he had wanted her all to himself. And now, he saw that in not telling her, he’d held her back from her training. And she needed as much training as possible, so she’d be ready to face Lucifer, if it ever came down to that. He’d never forgive himself if something happened to her that she could easily get out of, with a bit of training. He sure hoped that Michael, and those working with him, would be able to capture Lucifer long before he ever gets close to Shar. But that wasn’t guaranteed and she needed to be ready, especially after how close he got tonight. Michael and some of their brothers were trying to track Lucifer tonight, which is why Michael had left so abruptly and had given in to Sharry so easily. Normally, Michael would have started her training immediately. The fact that he gave her the weekend was nothing short of a miracle. It was probably because, before tonight, no one had seen Lucifer and they hadn’t been able to track him. Seeing him tonight was a huge breakthrough. Prior to that, they didn’t even know for sure which of the nephilim he was going to target. He was very sneaky and showing up tonight could always be an attempt at misdirection. They had to act like they were all in danger. None of the nephilim were safe as long as Lucifer was on the lose!
Jacob decided to call Michael to check out how things were going. Yes, Angels used cell phones. They could speak telepathically, of course, but they’d have no guarantees of privacy and even Lucifer could overhear if he focussed hard enough. They’d blocked him, of course, but Lucifer had his ways and it wasn’t worth the risk. So, Jake called Michael,” hey Michael.” He said, “any luck on the Lucifer hunt?” “Damn-it, I wish I had good news.” Michael said, “but we can’t find him anywhere. It’s like he vanished. We had patrols all around the garden the entire time and he somehow managed to elude them all. I wish we knew how he was getting around. It’d make things so much easier. How’s Sharry doing after her, turn your life upside down, night?” “She’s out like a light. She’s angry, confused and mostly exhausted. Thanks for giving her the weekend Michael. I appreciate it.” Jake replied. “Well, with Lucifer this close, we’re going to be going crazy trying to track him. Oh and you can appreciate it all you want, but I did it for her, not you Jake. You’re too close to her, are you sure you can still do your job?” “I’m good Michael,” Jake answered. “Please don’t have me pulled, I’ve got this!” Michael sighed, “okay, for now! But I’m watching you baby brother and the second I think you’re in too deep, you’re getting pulled from the field. So stay on your toes. Don’t miss anything. Lucifer’ a crafty mother-fucker!””Don’t I know it! You’re preaching to the choir man! I won’t let anyone touch a hair on Shar’s pretty little red head!” Jake said. Michael chuckled, “man, you’ve got it bad!” He teased. “I know man, I know…Well, I’ll keep you posted about how Sharry’s doing and, as long as the weekend goes smoothly, we won’t be seeing you until Monday.” “You better be sure it goes smoothly, it’s your ass on the line man! I’ll see you Monday. I’ll call if we get him!” Michael said. “Sure thing. Bye for now.” Jake hung up the phone. He twisted in his chair and watched Shar sleep for a bit. “You’re being creepy, remember Jake,”he said to himself. He turned and went back to the computer to kill time.
