They mean well,
They do, it’s true!
But they don’t really get it,
Even when they think they do.
They touch you tenderly,
With compassion on their minds.
But it makes you flinch,
While they’re trying to be kind.
They do so much for you,
That it fills you with guilt!
But you just want to hide,
And cuddle up in your quilt!
You try to appreciate,
All of the kind intentions,
But inside the frustration builds,
And fills you with tension!
It’s just another thing,
You feel guilty about!
There are so many reasons,
You wish you could just shout!
You try to hold back the tears,
Until you’re on your own.
Crying in front of them,
Makes them feel futile and alone.
They love you so much,
They want to do all they can!
They want to fix things,
Especially if your caregivers a man.
Men tend to want,
To physically fix it,
But this isn’t about,
Pieces that don’t fit!
Just take care of the kids,
The dogs and the rest!
I’m so grateful for all you do
You’re just the best!!
Thanks for your love,
Your patience, your thoughts!
If I had to do this alone,
I’d become a crackpot!!
