Plunging into a land unknown,
Where her alter-ego slept.
Waking the monster was a mistake.
She didn’t know what it kept!
Memories of the poignant times,
Filled with pain and regret.
Suppressed for very good reason.
Sealed with a wish to forget!
Tumbling out from her vault,
Came all the detritus long lost.
Throwing her into chaos and pain,
She hadn’t realized the cost!
Wading through the images,
As they assaulted her brain.
Making her gasp for her breath,
She was stunned by the pain!
Scrambling to forget again,
Trying desperately to clear her mind.
She’d rather keep it all hidden away,
Than face it and leave it behind!
Stuck back in her phoney existence,
Pretending all is well.
Denying the truth behind her eyes,
A truth she can barely quell…
