Send her drifting 

From emotion to emotion

None uplifting 

Her spirits melancholy 

Fixed to him

Forever empty

Forever dim

Her own wishes forgotten 

His heart carrying hers

Through his dismal existence 

It never reassures

Stolen memories 

Of a better place

Yanked from her heart

Leaving her displaced

Distant laughter

Echoes softly

Of memories so costly
