Summer Phys-ed!!

Tonight’s probably going to be one of those nights when I fall asleep while writing this!! I only say that because it’s 1:00 am and I’m just starting right now!! This is likely going to be a fairly short post. Going to bed far too late tonight! My daughter and I got into our show and it got late. We were waiting for my other daughter to get home from the fireworks (they had Canada Day fireworks again and she went with friends and got a ride home with her friends parents.) She got home and we finished the episode that we were on before getting ready for bed. By the time I did all I had to do, well, it was/is late!

My younger daughter begins grade 10 summer Physical Education tomorrow. We looked into registering her in ADLC (Alberta Distance Learning Centre) for next year. They have a program where she could log her dance hours and a few other activities, in place of phys-ed. We were looking into the two options, summer school through BlackGold Outreach or the ADLC program. We first inquired about the summer school, and we were put on a waiting list. Then we got all of the information from ADLC about their program. When we spoke to the summer school registration person we were told that both the Leduc and the Beaumont classes were full. They put us on the wait list. Friday, while shopping at No Frills with my hubby, the outreach person called me to tell me that a spot in Beaumont had opened up and that we were next on the list for Beaumont! So, if she wanted to go, she could and it starts Monday!! Not a whole bunch of prep time. So, I told my daughter that she had only 2 days to decide. The lady said that it starts Monday (tomorrow) from 8:00am – 4:00pm, it’s $100 and we had to print, sign and bring the forms with us Monday/tomorrow morning. So she decided that it sounds fun. Much better than gym class throughout the year would be. They get to go canoeing, rock climbing, do yoga, golf, play frisbee, go to the pool, and many other fun sounding activities. She has a big group of friends who are going to be in the same class with her. It will give her a chance to get abut familiar with the high school, before she starts grade 10 in the fall. The class runs for two full weeks and then she’s done, bam! Phys-ed 10 will be finished and out of the way!!  She gets enough physical activity throughout the school year with dance. This way she’ll be able to take a different class in place of phys-ed.

It’s super late and I have to wake up early to drive my daughter to school!! Night all! 💤😴

Canada Day Today!

Happy Canada day!

It’s time to shout hooray!

My hubby and I cut, plated and served cake for a couple hours this morning. (Is plated a word???) We signed up as volunteers for the Canada day celebrations. Originally we were signed up to work the bouncy castles, but a team volunteered to do all of the bouncy castle hours. So, we were reassigned to do the cake. There were four of us doing it, my hubby and I as well as another young couple. They were very nice.  It was an easy job to do. It didn’t take long to get into a bit of a routine get it done. Afterwards we enjoyed a free sandwich for volunteering! It was nice to help out in some way. Once we were done my daughter and I bought ponchos from a lady in a booth. They’re fleece and they’re really nice and cosy. I really like it! We ran into my good friend, while buying it. I miss her. We don’t see each other as often as we used to. We definitely need to plan something. My hubby walked home ahead of us, because it started to rain and he didn’t have the top down on the Miata. Oops!

We went home and hung out for a while. Not doing anything all that useful, putting my foot up, because my damn heel hurts!  Later on, after supper and stuff, we went back to Gour Seasons park in town to watch the fire works. Last year we did it the lazy way and wTched from the car – lol. However, this time we drove to the park and found a good spot up close. It was like front row seats, they were great, I mean the fireworks, not our seats – lol. Even though we were in a pretty good spot. It’s getting late though and I started this really late because we got home so late, then by the time we got to bed…well, it was late! So, now I should go and get some rest, before I start doing the sleep/write thing I’m so great at!! Night all! 💤😴

Tonight’s Rambles

Just had a soft serve cone 🍦

I wasn’t eating it alone

I took the kids to Dairy Queen

Too many points, if you know what I mean

I haven’t been good with my points, so to speak

I have to jump back on board for the rest of the week

Or my weigh-in will bring really bad news

And I really won’t have any excuse

That didn’t exactly rhyme very well

But it worked for what I want to tell

Tomorrow my hubby and I are volunteering for Canada Day  🇨🇦

We’re cutting the cake and giving it away

We thought we’d help out for activities in town

So tomorrow some cake cutting is going down

My daughter and I have been binge watching Pretty Little Liars

For so many days I could hand out info fliers

My youngest is watching the final season

She’s way ahead of us for some reason

I’m into the story, even if it’s not the best

It just happens when you watch it repeatedly, with hardly any rest

I actually do do other things

Like cooking and grocery shopping among other things

I just used the same word there, I didn’t mean to

I need to pay attention to what I do

Sometimes I just write as the words fly out of my head

Instead of paying attention instead

So when I go back I then find where I ran out of luck

But I’m not changing it now, even if it sucks

My younger daughter is sleeping in my hubby’s spot

I think she freaked herself out with the show she watched a lot

That same one I was just talking about

She fast forwards the scary parts, instead of watching full out

It can be a little unsettling at times

But not as bad as Supernatural gets during their crime

That just rhymed, but wasn’t very clear

I’m just used to much freakier shows than my little dear

She doesn’t like scary and never has

She’d rather be doing jazz💃🏼

Or any dance for that matter is better than scary

That’s how she was built, she remains wary

I think I’m just rambling about nothing at all

It’s time for me to make that call

I should go to sleep, it’s getting late

I’ll ramble more tomorrow, just you wait

Night all! 💤😴

Same Old Stuff…

I was going to start out by saying I’m tired

But one of these days I’ll hear you’re fired

For always saying the same darn thing

Everything has the same old ring

I really, truly don’t mean to bore

But my life doesn’t change much anymore

It’s just the same old same old around here

Nothing big or exciting, I fear

Maybe that’s not what you want me to say

It’s the truth, especially today

We cleaned up the house and watched tv

These things I do every day you see me

The kids are done school as of yesterday

They’re starting their summer today

The weather wasn’t very great

But it’ll get nicer, if we wait

Hubby and I watched a movie tonight

Called Ghost In The She’ll, if I got it right

It was definitely different, that’s for sure

It’s getting close to when I should go to bed

There’s a part of my book I wanted to, but haven’t read

So I’m going to go and do that now

Then I’m going to bed anyhow

Night all! 💤😴

Plantar Fasciitis Information!

Today I plan on learning more about plantar fasciitis. My doc said that is what’s wrong with my left heel. So, here’s some info I found about why I can currently feel my pulse in my heel…(taken from WebMD):

What is plantar fasciitis?

Plantar fasciitis (say “PLAN-ter fash-ee-EYE-tus”) is the most common cause of heel pain. The plantar fascia is the flat band of tissue (ligament) that connects your heel bone to your toes. It supports the arch of your foot. If you strain your plantar fascia, it gets weak, swollen, and irritated (inflamed). Then your heel or the bottom of your foot hurts when you stand or walk.
What causes plantar fasciitis?

Plantar fasciitis is caused by straining the ligament that supports your arch. Repeated strain can cause tiny tears in the ligament. These can lead to pain and swelling. This is more likely to happen if:

  1. Your feet roll inward too much when you walk (excessive pronation).
  2. You have high arches or flat feet.
  3. You walk, stand, or run for long periods of time, especially on hard surfaces.
  4. You are overweight.
  5. You wear shoes that don’t fit well or are worn out.
  6. You have tight Achilles tendons or calf muscles.

What are the symptoms?

Most people with plantar fasciitis have pain when they take their first steps after they get out of bed or sit for a long time. You may have less stiffness and pain after you take a few steps. But your foot may hurt more as the day goes on. It may hurt the most when you climb stairs or after you stand for a long time.
How is plantar fasciitis diagnosed?

Your doctor will check your feet and watch you stand and walk. He or she will also ask questions about:

  • Your past health, including what illnesses or injuries you have had.
  • Your symptoms, such as where the pain is and what time of day your foot hurts most.
  • How active you are and what types of physical activity you do.
  • Your doctor may take an X-ray of your foot if he or she suspects a problem with the bones of your foot, such as a stress fracture.

How is it treated?

No single treatment works best for everyone with plantar fasciitis. But there are many things you can try to help your foot get better:

  • Give your feet a rest. Cut back on activities that make your foot hurt. Try not to walk or run on hard surfaces.
  • To reduce pain and swelling, try putting ice on your heel. Or take an over-the-counter pain reliever like ibuprofen (such as Advil or Motrin) or naproxen (such as Aleve).
  • Do toe stretches camera.gif, calf stretches camera.gif and towel stretches camera.gif several times a day, especially when you first get up in the morning. (For towel stretches, you pull on both ends of a rolled towel that you place under the ball of your foot.)
  • Get a new pair of shoes. Pick shoes with good arch support and a cushioned sole. Or try heel cups or shoe inserts (orthotics camera.gif). Use them in both shoes, even if only one foot hurts.
  • If these treatments do not help, your doctor may recommend splints that you wear at night, shots of medicine (such as a steroid) in your heel, or other treatments. You probably will not need surgery. Doctors only suggest it for people who still have pain after trying other treatments for 6 to 12 months.

How long will it take for the pain to go away?

Plantar fasciitis most often occurs because of injuries that have happened over time. With treatment, you will have less pain within a few weeks. But it may take time for the pain to go away completely. It may take a few months to a year.
Stay with your treatment. If you don’t, you may have constant pain when you stand or walk. The sooner you start treatment, the sooner your feet will stop hurting.
So, that is it! My heel is hurting just sitting here, so maybe it’s really bad right now. It’s supposed to feel a bit better when you’re off of it. I guess I need new shoes, and/or orthotics. My doc showed me a stretch to do for it. She wants me to both stretch and strengthen it by standing on stairs with just my toes on the stairs, heels hanging off and rise up on my toes for 4 seconds (to strengthen) then lower my heels down as far as I can (to stretch).  I guess I better start doing this, if it’ll help, I’ll do it! I’m tired of feeling like I’m hobbling everywhere I go!!

I’m so tired of falling asleep sitting up, then waking up disoriented, late, and with a deleted post! So, tonight my goal is to finish this early and lie down early. So, on that note, I’m going to head to bed. Night all! 💤😴

Plantar Fasciitis

Another day another rhyme

Something I do all the time

Today I had to see my doc

This morning at 11 o’clock

I have plantar fasciitis in my heel

That explains the way it feels

I may need orthotics for my shoes

If it doesn’t get better, that’s what I’ll use

It hurts a lot when I walk on it

It ends up making me want to sit

I had to get that yucky pap

That always feels like crap

Afterwards I went to the bookstore

I found the book I was looking for

I had to go to the grocery store too

That was the last thing I had to do

Tomorrow’s the year end picnic at my son’s school

But the weather’s supposed to be quite cool

I don’t know what they do if it rains

The letter home had nothing that explains

I guess I’ll have to wait and see

Whatever they do isn’t up to me

Tomorrow is their last day for the year

It’s my last morning alone with no one here

I want to get a good night’s rest

So I can wake up feeling my best

So I’m going to run and go to bed

Time to lie down my sleepyhead

I’m Awake And Rhyming!!

This is the kids last week of school

My dancing daughter thinks that’s so cool

They only have a few days to go

They’re ready for summer, this I know

It was really crazy hot today

29 degrees of heat, hurray

I’m sweating so so much right now

I want to cool off, but don’t know how

We’re supposed to have cool air in here

But it doesn’t work well, that is clear

Yoga was outside today

My legs felt like rubber, but that’s okay

I like doing something active anyway

We paid for classes to the end of June

But she said some drop-ins are coming soon

She only does a few classes in the summer

Finding that out was a bit of a bummer

I just started something and now it’s done

I’ll have to do the drop ins, one by one

Im almost done and I’m still awake

That’s a shock, make no mistake

The past few nights I’ve fallen asleep

While writing things I want to keep

But I lose the whole entire post

Or at least I lose most

It’s very frustrating to lose my writing

I have to recall things after just one sighting

Sometimes I forget all that I write

Those nights give me a huge fright

But tonight I made it and asleep I didn’t fall

So I can say Night all! 💤😴

A Hunt For A Microwave!!

Another night, another post. Hopefully, a post I can remain awake for!! Last night wasn’t quite as bad as the previous night! Yesterday I didn’t start the falling asleep thing until nearing the end of my post. The night before, I was sleeping the whole way through. Like so sleepy that I probably slept more than I wrote!!
Today my son and I slept in. Which was easy to do. I was tired!! Then, once we got up, we played a couple games together including our own version of indoor soccer (a very controlled game just using the kitchen floor), we played with his pokeballs bouncing them back and forth before the funny sound it makes would end. After that we played upstairs, our catapult game, where he catapults a stuffy off of the pillow band I was meant to catch the stuffy that flies through the air towards me.
After playing our games, my oldest and hubby came home from work. We decided to go Microwave shopping. Ours died for good! It’s been on the way out for some time now. For the past year it’s been acting up. When it’s supposedly off and you open the door to put some thing inside, the turning thing would start up and it would continuously turn (just like it was running!). It freaked my mom out whenever she was over. She was certain that it would be bad for you because of the waves coming towards you as it ran with the open door! Then, more recently, it started coming to a complete stop while you were using it. It would just suddenly stop mid heat up. We knew it was on it’s way out, it was just a matter of time. Then last night, when getting supper ready, it died and some code came up on the screen. My hubby searched it and it pretty much meant that your mother-board was shot. So, that meant only one thing, time to go microwave shopping!! We went to London Drugs, but they didn’t have the one we wanted. We went to Home Outfitters, then The Brick, then Canadian Tire, then The Bay and finally we went to a different London Drugs. None of these ones were the Panasonic Inverter for the price we wanted to pay. Most of them were overpriced by at least $100!! They were around $300!! That was more than we wanted to pay! They all seemed to be more than I remember ever paying for a microwave!! Later, when we got home, we found a Panasonic Inverter on Amazin.ca. We ordered it and it should arrive between July 4 – 12th. I guess that I have to suck it up until then!!

We went to the Olive Garden for supper. My girls go crazy for those nummy breadsticks!! I love the starter house salad. Good stuff! It was nice for us to all have a meal together. I enjoyed it! And now, I’m sitting here writing this and it’s taking forever!!! Now I’m off to bed! Night all! 💤😴

Full Day

Last nights post was a bust! I wore myself out during our girls day at West Edmonton Mall and was so done when we got home and got to bed. I was almost I instantly asleep! I was trying so hard to write the post, but I just couldn’t keep my eyes open! Wow! It was one of the most frustrating posts I’ve ever done! I say here until 2:30, asleep/trying to wake up and write asleep/trying again asleep/trying again over and over! I don’t know how many times I had to restart. With all the sleeping, I was completely out of it!! It’s late tonight, so let’s hope my eyes stay wide open tonight!!
Today we cleaned up a bit. The living room and the kitchen. Also, my daughter and I finally remembered to clean up her pukein the van. It actually wasn’t that bad and took us. I Time at all to wipe everything down. We used hot water with laundry detergent. It cleaned up fairly easily and took no time at all!! It was a very watery puke, she had nothing but abut of water in her system at that point. So, this is probably partially why it wasn’t that difficult to clean up.
We had BBQ’d burgers & potatoes for supper. It was quite good. It hit the spot. I really wanted something that was BBQ’d. I didn’t really care what it was. I just wanted something grilled. There’s something pretty special about cooking it on the grill. Or maybe I like it, because my hubby usually does it. That means, I’m inside doing things.
After supper my hubby drove my younger daughter and a group of her friends to Ethan’s house. He lives about 15 min east of Beaumont. While they were driving there, My son and I played a bit of baseball, with crappy plastic bat and a weird ball. It was just silly fun, nothing too serious. It was fun until he threw the bat in the air and it hit me in the face!! Ouch‼️ Needless to say, we stopped playing after that! Then we played one more game and had to go pick up my daughter and her friends.  I got the kids McDonalds on the way home. Then we weto bed and here we are!!

Girls Day!!

It’s late and I’m tired. This will be a very short post. It has already been lost a million times. For some reason it’s not my night! Had a girls day today. We went to West Edmonton Mall. I needed a few things from The Body Shop and Lush. My younger daughter needed to go to Forever 21. My oldest wanted to go to the book store, Hot Topic, Saje and The Disney Store. We went to a few other places in addition to these. I’m just exhausted and can barely keep my eyes open.  That’s why this post keeps getting deleted! I refuse to write it again. So I’m going to go to bed now and keep this short! Night all! 💤😴
