A Very Full Day!

This morning we or rather I didn’t get up quite as well as yesterday. I woke up with my alarm, but I guess that I fell back to sleep! My daughter came into my bedroom at 8:10 and said, ” are you even awake yet?!” I was like, “Oh Shit!!” when I looked at the time! I immediately jumped up and woke up my son. We rushed as much as we could, but we were still about 5 minutes late for school. Oops!! My bad!! When I got home I made my toast and tea, then I watched an episode of The Good Doctor. I’m kind of behind on it. Then I went to wake up my daughter. She said that she didn’t sleep well and asked me to come back in an hour. So I went back upstairs. My hubby had just woken up. He started watching something on the tv. So I made another cup of tea and then I went on my phone for a while. Then I woke her up again. I went back upstairs and did the dishes. Then my daughter and I watched Hawaii Five O. I went upstairs and changed into a tank and leggings. I ate a couple yogurts. My daughter ate something quick. Then we did my yoga DVD together. It’s actually Sean Corn. For some reason I said Sean Young yesterday, but that’s not actually her name. When we finished I changed my clothes and went and picked up my kids from school. We came home and I got them a snack. Then my daughter and I left for dance. I got gas in the van on the way there. I dropped her off and went to Winners while she was dancing. I bought some night cream and some body oil. Then I went to Walmart and got a few things that we needed. Then I went back to the studio. I only had to wait for about 20 minutes until she was finished. My daughter was exhausted when she came out. She said that her teacher gave them an endurance class today. When they came in she told them that they might as well leave their water bottles outside in the lounge, because there won’t be a break! I was freezing in the van, because the heater sucks and never really seems to warm up and it’s bloody cold outside today and then she hops into the van and turns down the heat saying that she’s absolutely sweating!! Meanwhile I’m shivering!! Not to mention you can control the heat in front of you, so there’s absolutely zero reason for her to adjust the darn heat in front of me!! Anyway, we drove back home. She gradually turned it back up, because it was cold outside, so she cooled off awfully quickly!! When we got home my daughter was just taking supper out of the oven. Nothing very healthy…but at least she made something!! I ate a bit, my tummy is still not great, so I don’t eat much, especially when it’s not that good for me. Then I went downstairs to the basement and went on the treadmill for about 40 minutes. Afterwards, I went upstairs and got my son ready for bed. Then I had a shower. Now I’m going to get ready for bed.

Back To School!

This morning we woke up at 7:30 for school. I was surprised at how easy it was to wake up my son, seeing as it was his first day back to school after the Christmas holidays and he certainly did a lot of sleeping in over the holidays!! However, he woke up remarkably easily! Once he left for school I made myself my toast and tea and I watched a Christmas movie called The Christmas Cottage. I bought it for $5 at Shoppers about a month ago. It has an actor in it that I like from the tv show Supernatural that I really like and it is based on the artist Thomas Kinkade. I wanted to watch it over the holidays, but no one else in my family was interested in watching it with me. So, this morning my kids were at school, my oldest daughter was at work and my hubby was downstairs playing a video game. So, I was able to watch it by myself. I actually really enjoyed it! It made me cry in a few places. It was definitely a feel good movie. I will watch it again next Christmas season, regardless of what my family has to say about it!! Once my movie was over I found my Sean Young Vinyasa Yoga DVD and I cleared all of the crap off of the treadmill. Then I went upstairs and got changed into leggings and a tank top. I had something for lunch. Then my hubby left for work. I did my yoga DVD, it’s a pretty difficult one that 1 hour and 12 minutes. Then I quickly changed clothes and drove to my daughter’s work and picked her up. From there we went to pick up the kids from school. We came home and basically dropped off my oldest daughter and son, then I drove my daughter to dance. On the way there we noticed an accident on the Henday heading home, so I took 50th street home instead. Usually the Henday would be faster, but the accident had it backed up like crazy!! When I got home I checked the mail and received a t-shirt that I’ve been waiting for. I ordered it before Christmas, but I guess that it arrived a bit late…it was a gift for myself. I guess that it still is, just not necessarily for Christmas. I really like it, it makes me smile 😊 I went home and tried on the t-shirt to make sure that it fits and then changed into comfy clothes. Then I had a little cuddle with my son and briefly played with him. Then I made supper. After we ate supper, my daughter and I watched him play one of his games for a while. Then I found him clean pjs and I got dressed again. She got him in the bath and I left to pick up my daughter and her friend from dance. It’s a pretty cold day/evening today and my van never really warms up well with. It kind of sucks! I felt cold the whole ride to and from dance. When I got home I finished putting my son to bed, my daughter started after giving him a bath. Then I went on my phone. I feel pretty tired tonight. I’m not yet used to getting up early again. So I’m going to get ready for bed now!

End Of School Holidays!!

I didn’t sleep well last night. I fell asleep just fine. However, I woke up around 6:30 and couldn’t fall back to sleep. I just kind of laid there half awake for a long time. My daughter worked early today, she had to be there by 6:45am and my hubby had an overtime shift that started this morning at about 9:00am I think. My son woke up at around 10:00. He went on my phone for a while. I was lying beside him in my bed feeling super tired wishing that I had gotten more sleep, knowing that I wasn’t actually going to get any more sleep. I was feeling lazy though, because I had a bad headache, probably because of my lack of sleep. We finally did get up and go downstairs after a while. I decided that some tea would be nice. My hubby came home around 1:30-2:00. He wasn’t working a full shift today. I got my son waffles, but when we got downstairs his tummy wasn’t feeling well. I got him some children’s gravol for his tummy. He barely ate his waffles. He put my heating pad on his tummy and played his Pikachu game on his Switch. Then I made myself some toast and tea, you know just to be different…right! I made a meal plan and grocery list for the upcoming week, while reading parts of son’s game for him. My daughter came home from work while I was doing this. She sat in the kitchen talking to my hubby for a while, then she came into the living room. She took over helping my son, so I got ready to go to the store to get groceries. I went to No Frills first, because it’s cheaper, so I get what I can there. Usually I don’t get fresh things there, deli things there or bread there (I guess that could count as fresh…). Then I went to Sobeys for the rest of the groceries. From there I went home. My hubby helped me carry the bags inside the house and put things away. I got comfy clothes on, then I made some supper. After we ate supper I watched my son play his game for a while, but tomorrow it’s back to school…end of Christmas holidays for the kids. So he had to go to bed at a decent time!! So I got him into bed! Then, as is my habit, I went on my phone for a while. Then I wrote this thing. Now I’m going to hit the hay! My tummy is nauseous and I have a headache and I’m still bloody tired from my crappy sleep last night! I’m also no longer used to waking up at a decent time, with all the darn sleeping in that I did while the kids were home!

Breaks Fixed Finally

This morning my hubby left around 10:00 to go to my parent’s house to look at the breaks on the black car with my dad. My dr’s office called me back about an appointment to see my dr to refill prescriptions. Then my mom called me to tell me that they were finished working on the car and that my hubby was on his way home. My son and I got up a bit earlier than we have been. We went downstairs and I made him some breakfast. Then I did my laundry. Then I had my toast and tea – yay! I went on my phone for a while afterwards. Then I checked the laundry again. I hung up my hubby’s things and I took my laundry upstairs to my bedroom. Then I got ready to go to my parent’s house. My hubby’s clothes were all in the laundry, so he didn’t come with us, it was just the kids and I. When we got there, my son stayed there with my dad and my mom came into the van with the girls and I and we drove to South Common. We went to the Banana Republic. My mom saw a good sale there the other day. In the clearance section it was 50% off the last discounted price. We looked at white blouses for my oldest daughter, for her new job. My mom ended up buying her a white polka dotted short sleeved blouse and a black blazer, both for very great prices!! Thanks Momma!! Then we drove to the Superstore by my parent’s house and my mom bought a couple of those pre-baked chickens for supper. We then went back to my parent’s house. My dad had the potatoes ready and he had my son set the table for supper. We got a couple other things ready, then ate supper. After supper we had coffee and cookies and played a quick game of Five Crowns. We didn’t stay very long though, because my daughter has to be at work tomorrow morning by 6:45am. She wanted to get home in time to shower and be in bed by 9:00. I dropped her and my son off and then went to the Shoppers and got my prescription and some cold medicine for my hubby, my younger daughter came with me. Then we went home. At home I put my laundry away. Then I put up the pictures that I got for Christmas, in my bedroom. Afterwards, I got my son into bed. Then I went on my phone. Now I’m going to get ready for bed.

Finally Got My Daughter To The Lab…

My son woke up earlier than we have been waking up the past couple weeks. He went on my phone beside me in my bed. I was sort of half asleep and half awake. We got up when my hubby left for work. We went downstairs. I put the turkey carcass in water in a big pot on the oven to make soup. Then I made my son and I some breakfast and I had my tea. Then we got dressed and I took my younger daughter to the lab in town. She’s had a lab requisition here for a long time and we haven’t gone because she is always busy after school and the lab closed on the weekends. When she was finished at the lab, I had to go to Sobeys for a few things. Then we came back home. I made my son a late lunch. My daughter couldn’t figure out what she wanted to eat. She felt like a salad. She was doing card tricks for my son. So, I went back to the store and bought her a salad. She stayed home and taught him a card trick that he was trying to figure out and she emptied and loaded the dishwasher for me. I bought myself a Caesar salad. Then I came back home. After I ate my salad I drained the broth out of the soup and let the meat and bones cool. I cut the veggies while it was cooling and added them to the broth. Then I separated the meat from the bones and added the meat back to the broth as well. My hubby came home early from work. I also added rice to the soup. I don’t use pasta, because I find it doesn’t take long before it gets soggy and gross. Then I left it all to cook. Since my hubby was home, he went and picked up my daughter from work tonight. Once she was home, we all ate supper. It was a little late, but it sure was tasty, if I do say so myself… Then I did some more laundry. My son made a video of him and I doing some colouring thing he set up and recorded with the camera that he got for Christmas (lucky me!!). Then I got him ready and into bed. As per usual, I went on my phone for a while. Now I’m going to get ready for bed. My tummy is a nauseous mess tonight…yuck!

A Movie Day!

Today I laid in bed being lazy while my son watched videos on my phone. My oldest daughter went to work, my hubby went to work and my younger daughter went to Southgate mall with a couple of her friends. My son and I went downstairs and had something to eat. Then we watched his new Captain Underpants movie that he got for Christmas. My daughter came home from the mall just as that movie was finishing. We talked for a while and she looked at some dance emails on my phone. Then my son and I played a game together for a while. Then we started watching his Incredibles 2 movie, that he also got for Christmas. My daughter’s friend picked her up and then they went to her other friend’s house for a sleepover. My son and I paused our movie part way through so that I could cook us supper. We ate supper in the living room and continued watching our movie. We had to pause it again before it was over. I cleaned up our plates and then I got dressed and we drove to Nisku and picked up my oldest daughter from work. When we got home we watched the end of the movie. Then my son played his Pokémon (Pikachu) game and I did some laundry. Then I took my son upstairs to bed. I went on my phone for a while, probably for too long as usual… Now I’m going to get ready for bed.

Upstairs Day

I slept in like usual today. Then my son and I had what he likes to call an “upstairs day” today. That means we spent most of our day upstairs together in my bedroom playing around together on my bed. We play games on my phone and we also play games that he makes up, where he hides things or just whatever; he’s pretty creative. When he was younger we used to have a lot of “upstairs days” together. However, we haven’t done so in ages. When we woke up he asked me if we could have one today. Since my hubby was at work and my oldest daughter was at her first day of work and my younger daughter was just across the hall in her bedroom, I thought that it would be a perfect day for an “upstairs day”. I know that we likely won’t have many more of them together. So I said yes – and that is what we did!! We went downstairs at around 5:30. I made some pancakes for supper, to go with the leftover bacon and sausages that my hubby had in the fridge. Then I drove to Nisku and picked up my daughter from work. She said that her first day went well. She thinks that she is going to like it better then she liked McDonald’s. Hopefully it will last longer and she will feel more comfortable here. When we got home my son had me go on a scavenger hunt. Then I warmed up some of the pancakes for my daughter. Then I set up a quick scavenger hunt for him. Then we played a quick round of Mario Party. My hubby came home from work and finished playing for me while I started letting our dogs out and doing before bed things. Then as soon as the game was over, I took my son up to bed. Then I went on my phone. Now I’m going to go to bed.

New Years Day!

I slept in again today. Pretty late too! However, I’m not surprised because I went to bed awfully late last night!! When I got up I went downstairs and woke up my daughter. Then I took a roast out of the freezer. I made my son and daughter some waffles and tea for my daughter. Then I put the roast into the oven to cook from frozen. I made myself some toast and tea, like usual. I talked to my mom on the phone briefly, to say hello and Happy New Year. Then I had a nice long shower. When I was finished I played a game upstairs in my bedroom with my son. I checked to see if the roast had cooked enough to allow me to put the meat thermometer into it and it had. My daughter peeled some potatoes, so I chopped them and got them into some water. I did some frozen veggies, because they’re easy and made some gravy. Then we had supper. After supper my daughter gave my son a bath while I got the tags off of his new pjs, socks and underwear. Then we played Mario Party. Afterwards, my daughter got into the shower, because her first day at her new job is tomorrow. I got my son ready for bed. Then I went on my phone for way too long. Now I’m going to get ready for bed.

Happy New Year!

I slept in again today. My hubby had to leave early for work. His hours were different today, since it’s New Years Eve. My hubby called and I heard my phone going and that’s what woke me up. My son went on my phone and I just laid in bed half asleep. He went downstairs. So I got up and went downstairs and joined him. I woke up my daughter and then went upstairs and made my son waffles. I had my usual. I made my daughter tea and waffles. Then we made a grocery list. My younger daughter came downstairs and played video games with my son while my oldest daughter and I went to No Frills and Sobeys. Then we came back home and I made supper. My hubby got home in time for supper. After supper my hubby went next door, because our neighbours were having a fire in the backyard for New Years. The four of us played Mario Party on the Switch. Then my younger daughter went upstairs and the 3 of us played Phase 10. Then we played Mario Party again. We finished at 11:50, just in time to turn on the tv to watch the count down for New Years. I guess that we weren’t big partygoers this year! We just kind of took it easy. I got my son into bed a while after. He and my daughter played Super Smash Brothers for a little while, but not for very long. Once he was in bed, I went on my phone. It’s pretty darn late right now! I’m going to get ready for bed. Happy New Year!

Mom And Dad’s

After sleeping in again today, I woke up and quickly got ready to go. I let my dogs out and made sure that they were fed. I got my son dressed and asked my hubby to make him something to eat. Then I got myself ready to go. We went to our friends Carol and Rae’s house. We visited with them for a while. We gave them a Christmas card and they had Christmas money for the kids. My hubby and I have known them for a very long time. We met Carol when we first met through our work years ago. Rae is going to be 90 in June and Carol is turning 85 in January. It’s crazy how time goes by! After visiting with them for a while, we drove from their house to my parent’s house. We played Rummoli with my parents. It was actually a pretty long game! We didn’t actually end up finishing it though. We stopped because it was time to get ready for supper. We set the table while my mom made gravy and my dad cut the roast. Then we sat down and ate dinner. After eating we had baked goods for dessert with some coffee. Then we sat at the table talking. My son played on his Switch while we were talking. Then around 8:45 we decided that we should go home. We drove back to town. My son and daughter played a game together on the Switch for a bit when we got home. Then I got my son into bed. I went on my phone for a while. Now I’m going to get ready for bed.
