TIPS ON HOW TO DO PRACTICALLY NOTHING AT ALL FOR ABOUT A WEEK OR SO – DAY #3

Hi! And welcome to my renowned TIPS ON HOW TO DO PRACTICALLY NOTHING AT ALL FOR ABOUT A WEEK OR SO – DAY #3. First, I have no idea why I keep doing that part in capital letters. It looks strange enough in the title. Oh, well. Nothing days require me to use a lower percentage of my brain power, so I’m not going to think about that anymore. Hey! That will be day 3’s first tip.

TIP #1: try not to over focus or work too hard at anything. That’s right,  anything!!! Just give your brain a well deserved rest!!

TIP #2: (from yesterday) if you get up too early, go back to bed. If you can’t sleep, maybe watch a movie or read a light-hearted book or any other book that you will enjoy. Be sure to make it an “easy” read, without too deep of a topic and not needing too much brain power. (Refer to today’s First tip).

TIP #3: When napping in the afternoon, sleep through a hotel-wide alarm. Once it’s woken you up, stay in bed as a pre-recorded message repeatedly says that authorities are looking into it, thanks for your patience, sorry for the inconvenience…bla bla bla. You may be too, intentionally, lazy to take time to check what was going on. Then, after probably 20-30 minutes, the recording may change and begin saying it was a false alarm, please feel free to go back to your rooms, sorry for any inconvenience, etc. etc….So, unbeknownst to you, who was busy getting that necessary afternoon nap in, some type of evacuation may have occurred. (Do not feel bad or guilty for being completely asleep, obviously, if you slept through that kind of alarm, you need sleep!!) Any kind of evacuation would have interfered or out right ruined your naps (and you may not get a chance to nap again that day!!).

TIP #4:  choose to eat your dinner at the hotel restaurant. You will not need to take the car or really care (that much) about what to wear (just go from your pj pants to sweat pants, easy-peasy!!). You do not even need to bother putting on makeup. Finally, eating at the hotel restaurant gets you back to your room much much quicker and, consequently, you’re back into your pj’s sooner and you can get back to doing nothing sooner!!

This is all for today. Any more would be far too much work;)

TIPS ON HOW TO DO PRACTICALLY NOTHING AT ALL FOR ABOUT A WEEK OR SO – DAY #2

Yup. So, we are with the second edition of TIPS ON HOW TO DO PRACTICALLY NOTHING AT ALL FOR ABOUT A WEEK OR SO… (From yesterday’s lazy day!) TIP #1. Sleep  through the entire flight, if you can. If you can’t sleep be sure to have a couple beverages (you know what I mean) and watch a movie. TIP #2. Prior to your flight, take as much time as you want and allow yourself to go into the shops as you walk, or ride on the walking sidewalk thingy. Don’t rush to your boarding area until they call your name over the airport com-system. Tip #3. Make your blog posts “continue” each day during your nothing time, so you don’t have to write too much and work too hard during your nothing time. Tip #4. After reading the room service menu and checking out the movies (I can watch Jurassic world one day when one I’m still here!) reminiscent of Tip #1, sleep!! I got up at 9:30, Toronto time, so 7:30 Edmomton time. Anyone who knows me will be shocked, but I never sleep as well when not in my own bed, which makes me more likely to get up earlier here. It’s a lot earlier wake-up time then my body’s used to. So, I’m off. Time for more sleeping!! Like now…👋🏼bye bye👋🏼

TIPS ON HOW TO DO PRACTICALLY NOTHING AT ALL FOR ABOUT A WEEK OR SO – DAY #1

I am in Toronto tonight. Welcome to my first post about my very serious, educational and at least level 100 or for those with higher smarts…(lol – completely unofficial/goofiness…),my posts for the next week or so, TIPS ON HOW TO DO PRACTICALLY NOTHING AT ALL FOR ABOUT A WEEK OR SO….

Tip #1. After sleeping for the entire plane ride, get a cab at the airport. A rental takes too much focus and brain power (and this week I’ll leave that for my hubby.) Tip #2. Go out for supper (see, his car rental and ability to focus got us there and back!!) Tip #3. Let your hubby force you to stop trying to write more tonight, because you may or may not have been falling asleep a lot lot lot and in strange places. So I need to stop writing, in order to avoid falling asleep, again, with my face on the iPad – heehee)

Pack Pack Pack

Busy busy, pack my bag🎒,

Tomorrow I fly ✈️to Toronto 👏🏼

As I leave, my parent’s 👵🏼👴🏼arrive,

Yay!👏🏼  My hubby and I get to go✈️!!!

My plan, so far is to do nothing at all!

So, how in the world do you pack for that?

Sweats and/or PJ’s, a couple of books, fingernail polish stuff and my drawing supplies…

But, there’s no room for a yoga mat!

A hear the geese outside

They are honking away

They’ve been figuring out

When to go and when to stay.

Sorry that this was so pathetic.

I have so much to get done before bed.

I need to go and feed my kids,

And take something for the pounding in my head.

I Want My Brain Back…

It’s 10:00 and I still have a lot to do to get ready for my early flight on Tuesday morning. Tomorrow is busy, with my art classe in the evening and some running around that I don’t really have a lot of time left for. My oldest wants a Halloween costume and my youngest needs knee pads for dance (she does some drops to her knees that are hard enough to be causing bruises, so we need to buy her some, to protect the bruises that are already bugging her and so there are no new bruises!!) However, I am a slow packer. I don’t know why or what’s happened to me, but I seem to be slow at everything…  It doesn’t matter what it is, my thoughts are all over the place and I sure miss my “normal” brain. I’m tired of losing my focus mid-conversation, mid-sentence! I’m tired of the bigger scheme, where memory is concerned, forget entire conversations or movies or…basic things that are automatically assumed have slipped away. Please don’t come to me saying “you promised…” Because, believe me, if I didn’t write it down, I may forget all about it.

Damn-it! I just want my brain back!!!

Dogs Dogs Dogs

So, this entire week has been about taking care of the dogs. One with a really really bad ear infection, as high or as bad as is possible (according to the vet). She needs oral antibiotics twice a day. Her ear needs to be cleaned once a day and she has drops in each ear, once daily. She has this silly underbite that make it look like she’s growling or snarly, but she’s a sweetie!

Our other dog, little Aggy, was spayed on Monday. So, she’s been a pathetic, little cone-head all week. She was weighed before her surgery and is a whole 7 pounds. Yup, she’s just a monster – lol!

Face Plant…

Tired like usual. I don’t know why I even bother mentioning that. It’s like  saying a raspberry is red, “no really??” That should be the reaction about me being tired, “really Jenn? You’re always so bouncy and full of energy!”  That would mean that person doesn’t know me at all. They would know that I do strange things happen to me. So, here’s my embarrassing story from last night…really embarrassing actually…so why am I writing this? Because, it’s not only embarrassing, it’s funny. So, I will endure the embarrassment to hopefully make someone laugh or smile!

So last night, after taking my nighttime medications, I was going to the bathroom. Most of my medications can cause drowsiness or are sedating. So, here goes, I fell asleep on the toilet. Like dead asleep! The medications don’t usually make me react like that, it’s likely the new one he started on. Anyway, we know it was a deep sleep because I fell, face first with all of my weight, “OUCH!!!” I feel like I’ve been beaten up. I have a lump on the top my head (which doesn’t really make sense, because I fell, hard, completely face first.) I have a couple scratches, with a bruise at the top of my hairline, a bruise and scratches on the bridge of my nose (from my glasses slamming into my face against my nose), and a bruise all around my right eye’s upper brow area and down the side of my face by my eye. Yep. I’m a big big mess. It’s crazy and scary that I fell asleep so hard. I’m talking to my pain doc tomorrow about it, so no need to panic or worry Mom (& anyone else who may worry about me!) ‼️

I can’t find yesterday’s post. You have no-idea just how frustrating that is. Here I am trying to pass my challenge of writing a post every day of 2o15 and then every now and then, “poof!” I go to check the stats the next day and it’s just gone. So so maddening!! So frustrating!!

Is It Math Class Or Drawing Class?

Almost half of the people weren’t there last night (at my drawing class), it was very very strange! We worked on sighting  and perspective. The sighting works by measuring distance, using your pencil as a tool. I kept getting mixed up with it. I  definitely have to practice a lot this week! Also, in talking about perspective, we learned that there are 3 different types, 1st point, 2nd point & 3rd point,… I barely did anything with 3rd point perspective, I was lost enough with 2point perspective! I got confused, he said I was overthinking it and that you figure it out by doing. We were drawing cubes in different places and then, depending upon your perspective, completing all of the sides that you are able to see, ie, actually, physically see. Drawing a kitchen, for example, at eye level, can you see the flat top of a counter or maybe some of the bottom. What are the angles from where you’re standing/sitting as you draw? How does foreshortening appear on the cube depending on eye level? Etc, etc…I found it quite the struggle. I needed a lot of help and this week, I need to practice practice practice!!

Without Further Explanation…

Today is a drawing day. Draw, draw, draw.

So, that means I need to jump back to it and keep going. This will be n my mind though. I find myself worrying about getting my writing finished. I don’t want it to be something that is just a chore. That will turn my writing into a chore, which contradicts the original reason I started this blog. That doesn’t help me much on days when I feel completely blank and have nothing to say. Also, I feel like I can’t keep my eyes open. Last night was strange. I didn’t sleep fully last night. That sounded weird. What I meant was that I would fall asleep, wake up, fall asleep, etc., etc., over and over. Very frustrating. The problem with that kind of abbreviated sleep is that my body doesn’t get the rest and restoration that it needs . So, then I end up waking up feeling exhausted. I just feel like a part of me is sleep-deprived and exhausted, ALL THE TIME!!

I’m super excited about my upcoming getaway.  My hubby’s going to Toronto for work training and I’m going to join him there a couple days after he gets there, for 3 nights – 4 full days!!!  It’s not like it’s tomorrow or anything, but I am so so looking forward to it! My hubby keeps saying that he’ll be at training all day, so I’ll be on my own during the day. We have the evenings for us though.  He’sworried about me getting bored. I have adamantly told him that that’s kind-of the point…4 full days all to myself!!! I don’t have to say anything more to that. Most moms (and dads) will know exactly what I’m talking about without further explanation. Seriously, 4 full days all to myself, enough said…
