Laid-Back Missing Hubby Day

Today was a delightedly lazy nothing day. That may sound strange, but it’s been so busy and go go go that it was nice to have a relaxed laid-back day. I have this ever-growing to-do list, but I didn’t want to do anything today. I’m just too tired and overdone. An absolutely nothing day was definitely called for !! I have been missing Arizona though (so I guess here was one thing I was thinking about – so my brain did function a tiny bit!). He is out of town for the week, again. It’s so strange having him away from home. I know that many people are used to having their significant other work out of town. However, I’m really not used to it at all & I don’t particularly enjoy it. It’s just strange. When you’re with someone for years and generally see them daily, it is very noticeable when they aren’t around. There’s just an empty space where he should be. It doesn’t help that it’s been three weeks in a row; he was gone for a week, then I was out of town for a week and now he’s not here. I’m missing him.

Girls Night!!!

Well, as you can see, it is super super late night now! My girls and I just got back from the One Direction concert. Despite some rain, it was a really good concert and so much fun to go with my girls! There were so so many people there! The stadium wasn’t completely full, but it was pretty darn close!! I think I parked in one of the dumbest places. I mean, the spot I found was actually pretty lucky. It was only a couple blocks from the stadium and it was free. The problem was after the concert. It was so so busy and I was one of the few who parked legally! Cars were half on half off the sidewalks or, even worse, partially on people’s lawns. So, as expected, it took a long time to escape the traffic and idiot drivers!! It also didn’t help that K-Days was doing their end of the day fireworks, so people were everywhere! Super frustrating. Then, when I finally freed us from the traffic, the girls were hungry. So I took them to a 24hr McDonalds. Well the guy ahead of us must not have spoken English or something, because we waited for over thirty minutes! And I’m not even exaggerating! It was one of those two lane drive thru’s. The people in the lane next to us went about 6 vehicles in before we finally could order and then continue to wait. It was painfully slow!! Then by the time we got home it was close to 1:00am!! I felt bad for being so so late because our babysitter didn’t expect it to be so late!! Frankly, neither did we!! I’m going to bed with my ears still ringing!!!

Long Long Drive Again

‼️‼️Home again. Home again. Jiggity jog‼️‼️

I’m so so tired right now. All day today I felt super super exhausted. My eyelids were so overly heavy. It seemed impossible to open my eyes. I spent the majority of the drive half asleep, sometimes fully out of it asleep, which is not normal for me. I generally dose off a bit, but don’t fully fall asleep. I also worry about making sure Arizona’s awake and alert. If I’m awake and talking with him, he won’t get sleepy. Well, that’s what I think, he always says that he’s fine and I should get some rest. So I took complete advantage of it and actually slept. I am still tired though. It’s just from being out of town on a small holiday. You tend to do and see more than normally and my body has a tendency to buck-up for a bit, but then crash, hard and heavy! But now I get to sleep in my own bed. 👏🏼😃YAY😃👏🏼 And that’s what I’m going to do…right now!

Oh, BTW Momma, Quackers is here, along with my eye mask, by book light, an ice pad fuzzy cover thingy & the ice pack that’s from you. The one where you just fill it with the ice cubes.  You know how we always put that kind of stuff in our pillowcases? Well I did that (which explains why I vividly remembered putting Quackers & the other things in the pillowcase. ), I just put them into he wrong pillowcase. Tee Hee! Oops!

Frustration Mounting In My Soul

Frustration mounting in my soul.

I can’t even recall the initial goal!

Confusion wiggles through my mind,

So tightly spun it can’t unwind!

My intentions twist and come out wrong.

I seem to be singing the same old song…

Can our priorities really be so diverse?

Both believing that the other is worse.

Is it time to look from a different view.

Perhaps I can try seeing things as you do.

We come from a very different space.

Can we meet in the middle with a little grace?

Frustration mounting in my soul.

Can we lessen it with a common goal?

JKC

That’s A Good Deal…

We spent most of the afternoon in Salmon Arm today (well, my mom, the girls and I did; my little man stayed at the house with my dad [& dad took him to the spray park!]). (I don’t know what I had in mind with all of these various brackets I’m putting here, strange…maybe I’m losing it?!) Anyway, I’m rambling on & on about nothing. We checked out a few of the stores, starting with a huge thrift store. While driving there we were discussing the smell that usually accompanies second-hand/thrift stores (I’m sure we’re not the only ones who’ve noticed the scent.)  Half of the parking lot is filled with furniture and bigger items. The weird thing is that the second we opened the car doors the scent was overpowering! It was just awful, like really really awful!! I assume it was from a combination of the heat, all of the very well used furniture and the number of people that were there. We were going to the store in search of a puzzle for my daughter, she’s been wanting one all week, because she saw one in the small drug store by my parent’s house (which I refused to buy because it was $30.00 &, in my mind, that’s crazy!) So, we walked through the parking lot trying to breathe with our mouths, not our noses! Then, ironically, we all breathed with relief when we got inside the store! We only found a marvel superheroe puzzle for my little man, but nothing for my daughter. When we got to the till the lady commented on us only having one item, because today they had a deal where you only had to pay $2.00/bag, for whatever you can fit in it. And we’re like, “wow! That’s a good deal!!” So, we went back through the store and grabbed a bunch of books and stuff, that we didn’t even want or need in the first place… It’s a bit ridiculous, we obviously didn’t need any extra junk but we ended up with all this extra stuff, just because it’s a good deal. That’s like buying something just because you see it’s on sale. Haven’t you done that?? You’re walking through a mall or a store (can you say Costco???) and you see a sale rack and you’re like “OMG!! What a great price!!”, then you end up buying it just because of the price, regardless of whether or not you need it. If not, feel free to pay me a visit, to see the end result of this method of shopping, lol!! “That’s a good deal!!” Sigh…

A Beautiful Day

We’re on the road from the provincial park, where my sister & her family are camping, heading back to my parent’s house. No dogs are allowed on the beach, so my dad and I went for a walk with Aggy while everyone went to the beach. We had some great weather. The kids had fun at the beach, playing in the sand, burying each other, etc. And back at the site playing in the trees etc. It’s such a beautiful campground. All of the sites are very treed and private. It’s very well maintained. There are a lot of flush toilets (not just outhouses). There were so many people riding bikes. It was really quite nice. They are camping there for two weeks. By the looks of many of the sites, a lot of people stay for a while. They get very settled in. My sister camps there almost every summer. She goes online in the spring on the day that they open booking for the season. She said you have to be ready to register right away, because they book up instantly, literally! She knows the campground so well, so she knows which area she wants to be in. It is very peaceful and beautiful.

Little Digger

I keep mixing up the time. I changed my watch, but not my phone. For some reason it didn’t change automatically. I know that it’s supposed to. My iPad did. So, whenever I just glance to check the time I forget what device is on BC time and which is still on Alberta time. At least it’s just an hour difference, if I mix it up it won’t be a tragedy.

We went to the beach today. It was super windy. The water was really choppy and it was overcast.  It wasn’t cold exactly, but it certainly wasn’t great. My little Aggy puppy had a blast in the sand! She was so so funny! She was jumping and running at first. Then, she started digging in the sand. It was dry sand and continued refilling as she dug. She was a little digging machine! It made me want to change her name to Digger. Even though it was windy, the sand wasn’t blowing. Nope. The only sand that flew at us was the sand that Aggy was madly digging. She was right beside the mat we were sitting on and all of the sand that she dug through came at us like crazy. She’s such a little monkey! She would put her whole face in the sand to move it. Then she’d put her head up and try to shake it off. She’s one of those breeds who continuously has the goopy eye stuff running. The sand managed to stick to the eye goop and her little damp black nose, but she didn’t care. She would just shake her head and then get back to digging. She’d find a stick, chew and play with it. Then drop it and dig somewhere else and find a new thing to sniff and chew on. She was so silly. She definitely provided the entertainment for the day. When we got back to my parent’s, we decided that she really needed a bath. We didn’t have any puppy shampoo, but even just washing her off with water would help. And, this is when we discovered that Aggy is petrified of baths. My daughter still had her bathing suit on so she sat in the tub holding her while my mom tried to clean her off. She was so so scared. Here’s a pic of the scared little one.
She survived the semi-bath and, after our walk tonight, she’s utterly exhausted, as am I. Today was long for me too. I’m hurting so so darn much. I’m off to bed. Night night.

Ouch…

I slept in really late today. I actually didn’t expect to. I don’t sleep as well when I’m not in my own bed. However, the next best place is my parent’s house. There is still a sense of comfort or homey-ness (yes, I realize that’s not an actual word!) Sleeping late isn’t exactly new territory for me. I just generally wake up earlier if I’m not home. I thought I’d hear everyone, but nope. I slept really late.

We didn’t actually do that much today. Hung around the house just visiting and relaxing. I only left the house to go to the grocery store. My face is super bad today. So so much pain today. Some of the worst shocks in a while.  I’m not sure why. Probably due to a lot of factors: late late night, long driving day yesterday, Trigeminal Neuralgia… He He He! We just spent the evening playing phase 10. I’m tired, in pain and it’s late for my little man. So tonight’s post is a short one again. Until tomorrow…

Long Driving Day

We spent the day on the road. Just got semi-settled in. I’m super tired. The altitude gets to me. Well, I’m assuming that’s what it is… The same thing happened the past few years when driving through the mountains. So, I am done in for the day. Night all😴

Frustrating

I had a long busy day. However, I still have way too much to do! I’m not done packing, at all!! We plan on leaving around 9:00 in the morning, but I am so so not ready! My Dr appointment took longer than usual today. I arrived about 10 minutes late, due to many many blocks of construction that I hadn’t planned for. Had a bit of running around to do once I left the Dr’s office. Including going to the book store to pick up the book on mindfulness that my pain Dr recommended. I dropped off my prescriptions and went through all that I would need to make sure I wouldn’t run out while in BC. Then, after his football game, my hubby went to the pharmacy to pick them up. Once home, I noticed that one of my prescriptions wasn’t here. When I called she said that they didn’t carry that dose and they had to order it in. Of course, it won’t be in until around noon!!!!  Of course it’s a triplicate prescription, which cannot just be transferred. She didn’t actually fill it, so I could still take it somewhere else if I need to. But, of course, none of this happened until right when the store, and almost all other pharmacies, was about to close. Sigh…I just spent over an hour calling pharmacies that were still open and, it turns out, most pharmacies don’t carry this dose unless they have a patient that they need to special order it for…yup. Don’t know what else to say, feeling frustrated and totally unprepared.
