Frustration Mounting In My Soul

Frustration mounting in my soul.

I can’t even recall the initial goal!

Confusion wiggles through my mind,

So tightly spun it can’t unwind!

My intentions twist and come out wrong.

I seem to be singing the same old song…

Can our priorities really be so diverse?

Both believing that the other is worse.

Is it time to look from a different view.

Perhaps I can try seeing things as you do.

We come from a very different space.

Can we meet in the middle with a little grace?

Frustration mounting in my soul.

Can we lessen it with a common goal?

That’s A Good Deal…

We spent most of the afternoon in Salmon Arm today (well, my mom, the girls and I did; my little man stayed at the house with my dad [& dad took him to the spray park!]). (I don’t know what I had in mind with all of these various brackets I’m putting here, strange…maybe I’m losing it?!) Anyway, I’m rambling on & on about nothing. We checked out a few of the stores, starting with a huge thrift store. While driving there we were discussing the smell that usually accompanies second-hand/thrift stores (I’m sure we’re not the only ones who’ve noticed the scent.)  Half of the parking lot is filled with furniture and bigger items. The weird thing is that the second we opened the car doors the scent was overpowering! It was just awful, like really really awful!! I assume it was from a combination of the heat, all of the very well used furniture and the number of people that were there. We were going to the store in search of a puzzle for my daughter, she’s been wanting one all week, because she saw one in the small drug store by my parent’s house (which I refused to buy because it was $30.00 &, in my mind, that’s crazy!) So, we walked through the parking lot trying to breathe with our mouths, not our noses! Then, ironically, we all breathed with relief when we got inside the store! We only found a marvel superheroe puzzle for my little man, but nothing for my daughter. When we got to the till the lady commented on us only having one item, because today they had a deal where you only had to pay $2.00/bag, for whatever you can fit in it. And we’re like, “wow! That’s a good deal!!” So, we went back through the store and grabbed a bunch of books and stuff, that we didn’t even want or need in the first place… It’s a bit ridiculous, we obviously didn’t need any extra junk but we ended up with all this extra stuff, just because it’s a good deal. That’s like buying something just because you see it’s on sale. Haven’t you done that?? You’re walking through a mall or a store (can you say Costco???) and you see a sale rack and you’re like “OMG!! What a great price!!”, then you end up buying it just because of the price, regardless of whether or not you need it. If not, feel free to pay me a visit, to see the end result of this method of shopping, lol!! “That’s a good deal!!” Sigh…

A Beautiful Day

We’re on the road from the provincial park, where my sister & her family are camping, heading back to my parent’s house. No dogs are allowed on the beach, so my dad and I went for a walk with Aggy while everyone went to the beach. We had some great weather. The kids had fun at the beach, playing in the sand, burying each other, etc. And back at the site playing in the trees etc. It’s such a beautiful campground. All of the sites are very treed and private. It’s very well maintained. There are a lot of flush toilets (not just outhouses). There were so many people riding bikes. It was really quite nice. They are camping there for two weeks. By the looks of many of the sites, a lot of people stay for a while. They get very settled in. My sister camps there almost every summer. She goes online in the spring on the day that they open booking for the season. She said you have to be ready to register right away, because they book up instantly, literally! She knows the campground so well, so she knows which area she wants to be in. It is very peaceful and beautiful.

Little Digger

I keep mixing up the time. I changed my watch, but not my phone. For some reason it didn’t change automatically. I know that it’s supposed to. My iPad did. So, whenever I just glance to check the time I forget what device is on BC time and which is still on Alberta time. At least it’s just an hour difference, if I mix it up it won’t be a tragedy.

We went to the beach today. It was super windy. The water was really choppy and it was overcast.  It wasn’t cold exactly, but it certainly wasn’t great. My little Aggy puppy had a blast in the sand! She was so so funny! She was jumping and running at first. Then, she started digging in the sand. It was dry sand and continued refilling as she dug. She was a little digging machine! It made me want to change her name to Digger. Even though it was windy, the sand wasn’t blowing. Nope. The only sand that flew at us was the sand that Aggy was madly digging. She was right beside the mat we were sitting on and all of the sand that she dug through came at us like crazy. She’s such a little monkey! She would put her whole face in the sand to move it. Then she’d put her head up and try to shake it off. She’s one of those breeds who continuously has the goopy eye stuff running. The sand managed to stick to the eye goop and her little damp black nose, but she didn’t care. She would just shake her head and then get back to digging. She’d find a stick, chew and play with it. Then drop it and dig somewhere else and find a new thing to sniff and chew on. She was so silly. She definitely provided the entertainment for the day. When we got back to my parent’s, we decided that she really needed a bath. We didn’t have any puppy shampoo, but even just washing her off with water would help. And, this is when we discovered that Aggy is petrified of baths. My daughter still had her bathing suit on so she sat in the tub holding her while my mom tried to clean her off. She was so so scared. Here’s a pic of the scared little one.
She survived the semi-bath and, after our walk tonight, she’s utterly exhausted, as am I. Today was long for me too. I’m hurting so so darn much. I’m off to bed. Night night.

Ouch…

I slept in really late today. I actually didn’t expect to. I don’t sleep as well when I’m not in my own bed. However, the next best place is my parent’s house. There is still a sense of comfort or homey-ness (yes, I realize that’s not an actual word!) Sleeping late isn’t exactly new territory for me. I just generally wake up earlier if I’m not home. I thought I’d hear everyone, but nope. I slept really late.

We didn’t actually do that much today. Hung around the house just visiting and relaxing. I only left the house to go to the grocery store. My face is super bad today. So so much pain today. Some of the worst shocks in a while.  I’m not sure why. Probably due to a lot of factors: late late night, long driving day yesterday, Trigeminal Neuralgia… He He He! We just spent the evening playing phase 10. I’m tired, in pain and it’s late for my little man. So tonight’s post is a short one again. Until tomorrow…

Long Driving Day

We spent the day on the road. Just got semi-settled in. I’m super tired. The altitude gets to me. Well, I’m assuming that’s what it is… The same thing happened the past few years when driving through the mountains. So, I am done in for the day. Night all😴

Frustrating

I had a long busy day. However, I still have way too much to do! I’m not done packing, at all!! We plan on leaving around 9:00 in the morning, but I am so so not ready! My Dr appointment took longer than usual today. I arrived about 10 minutes late, due to many many blocks of construction that I hadn’t planned for. Had a bit of running around to do once I left the Dr’s office. Including going to the book store to pick up the book on mindfulness that my pain Dr recommended. I dropped off my prescriptions and went through all that I would need to make sure I wouldn’t run out while in BC. Then, after his football game, my hubby went to the pharmacy to pick them up. Once home, I noticed that one of my prescriptions wasn’t here. When I called she said that they didn’t carry that dose and they had to order it in. Of course, it won’t be in until around noon!!!!  Of course it’s a triplicate prescription, which cannot just be transferred. She didn’t actually fill it, so I could still take it somewhere else if I need to. But, of course, none of this happened until right when the store, and almost all other pharmacies, was about to close. Sigh…I just spent over an hour calling pharmacies that were still open and, it turns out, most pharmacies don’t carry this dose unless they have a patient that they need to special order it for…yup. Don’t know what else to say, feeling frustrated and totally unprepared.

Find Your Way

Today I tried to catch up on laundry so that I can pack tomorrow. The kids and I are off to BC with my mom and dad on Tuesday. So, of course, I left most of the laundry until today because that’s just what I do. Story of my life. Last minute, last minute, last minute. Some things never change. Once a procrastinator always a procrastinator!

I figure, there is always going to be a to do list. There’s always going to be something that needs to get done. Just one more thing…it doesn’t end. There has to be a way to prioritize the list, or it can drive you mad. These days everything is so go, go, go.  It’s like if I do nothing, whether or not I feel sick, I’m judged negatively. If you like to relax, you’re lazy. If all you do is work, you’re a workaholic who should spend more time relaxing (ie: being lazy). There is no “right way”. Some people are night owls and some are morning people. Some find time with friends and fun is a great way to let go. Other people crave and need alone-time to recharge. Some people follow their kids around picking up every toy scattered behind them. Others have the kids help tidy, while others tidy up once the kids are in bed. If I regularly eat supper at 7:00, when the average time may be 5:30, does that make me a bad person? Am I doing things “wrong”? And, hey, who gets to decide what is right or wrong anyway?? Why do we let others dictate how we live our lives? Again, I say, there is no “right way.” Everyone needs to find “their way”. Figure out what fits with you. What feels right.  Then once you find your sweet-spot, when you’ve discovered “your way”, live your life without apology. Yet, be kind to those who may continue to judge you. Wish them all the best and hope for them to find “their way.”

Everyone’s home!

Right now I am so very tired. I have nothing tonight, not feeling inspired. My hubby is home, I’m so very glad. I picked my daughter up from camp, the goodbyes make her sad. Now everyone is home and I like it like this. Patterns fall back to normal and there’s no-one to miss. We’re all feeling exhausted and just done in. There’s so much house work to do, but I’m waiting until tomorrow to begin. I have a lot to do to get us on our way, because the kids and I are to my parent’s to stay. We’re going to be away for a week or so, but my hubby has to stay home, he just can’t go. He has too much work he has to get done, he’ll be working while we’re having fun. I promised myself I wouldn’t go to bed late, so if you want anymore you’ll just have to wait!

Feeling Frustrated

Well now I’m mad! I just had a long post and guess what happened?  Seriously, guess because that’s what I’m trying to do because I have absolutely no idea where it went! I’m sorry but I can’t do more tonight. I spent a long time and ive already stayed up much later than I intended to.  I was so proud of myself for getting done…sometimes I want to throw my iPad, or whatever electronic device happens to be driving me mad, across the room. Tomorrow our house will get back to normal. Both my daughter and hubby get home! It’s been strange with them out of town. I wanted to get more done, around the house, but that didn’t happen. My damn face is so unpredictable. I just really wanted to show my hubby that I’m not completely useless. He and my younger daughter were basically making fun of what it would be like here, with them gone, how useless I’d end up being. They were joking around, but it hurts because I have myself convinced that I’m pretty useless, but them joking about it confirms that feeling. Oh well. I really can’t write more. I’m going to bed now! Something is definitely up with this because I just tried to post this and it said an error has occurred. Like I said, chuck it across the room!!
