Collecting thoughts inside his head 

He can’t voice the words he’s never said

Scrambled emotions flit and dart

Threatening to blow his brain apart

Controlled and calm on the outside

Pretends all is well to save his pride 

The facade remains, driven by his fear

The price of candor is far too dear
